I told the artist what I wanted and he initially insisted he couldn't do the size or design. I next asked for a basic gradient of color and showed him a photo for reference. Unfortunately, I ended up with these blocks of color. As he was working, I asked that he ensure the color blended and he said as it healed it would..? He knew we traveled up from San Diego, and said he'd do a free touch up if we came back again and to text him. I even tipped the guy 40% hoping that he would put more effort into the next round. Unfortunately a week after I sent the text message, he responded to say he'd "work on it" and just never got back to me again. Fortunately, my husband's tattoo came out exactly as expected, so I'm making sure to average my star rating based on both designs and executions.
