We have worked with Caitlin and Clarissa through Perna's Pet Care for our two dogs and cat. They are amazing! Our cat is very low maintenance, but our senior dogs are each on specific medications and have occasional health issues which have always been accommodated. We have booked overnight stays when we are on vacation and dinner stopovers when we can't get home on time. She has always been so accommodating - and very understanding about us being super anxious and paranoid anytime we leave the dogs. I can't speak highly enough of Perna's Pet Care, and Caitlin too. Really, there aren't enough superlatives I can come up with to properly praise Caitlin Perna's extraordinary petsitting service. But in the interest of time and space, I'll share just a few: Exceptional, meticulous, superb, professional, reliable, trustworthy, smart, conscientious, consistent, kind, funny, caring, thoughtful, incredibly passionate about animals and her work, remarkably attentive, dynamic, energetic, engaging, enthusiastic, empathic, warm, interesting and interested, the embodiment of followthrough, hard-working, second-to-none....in a word, incredible! I'm a very anxious traveler, for a few reasons, and one is because I hate leaving my cats... I'm anxious about that, even though I've never had a bad experience with petsitters, thank goodness. I just hate being away from them, I guess. I moved to Austin in the fall of 2019 and the first time I needed to travel was Feb 2020. I found Caitlin on Yelp that autumn (she was one of three petsitters I interviewed, and while the others seemed fine, Caitlin immediately struck me as exceptional, the way she connected with the kitties [they loved her too!], the way she was actively listening to all the boring minutia I was sharing about feedings and such (I was boring myself, but she never seemed bored!), the way she really wanted to get all the details right and care for the cats the same way I do in my absence. So she was my clear choice, without a doubt. I immediately felt good about knowing Caitlin was our petsitter, so then I set out to make travel plans (to visit my brother in L.A.). However, those plans were months away, so as we got closer to departure date I asked Caitlin if she minded visiting once more so I could run her through all the details in person again, show her the apartment access stuff and all that, all those details I worried I might forget how to explain well in writing. I felt like that was a big ask, and I apologized profusely, but she was so kind and said it was no problem at all, she was happy to do it. Just lovely, the way she alleviated my anxiety about leaving the cats and the way she alleviated my guilt about asking her to make another trip out. Just one example of how Caitlin goes above and beyond her job description, and doesn't even make a big deal of it. Because of Perna's Pet Care, I was able to actually enjoy my long visit with my brother (good thing I had a fun trip, because that's the last place I've traveled to, and I don't know when I'll feel okay about traveling again, ugh). I love the Perna's Pet Care software (love it!) that allows me to get updates and add notes and all right in the app. So great, so organized. As promised, Caitlin sent me updates after each visit, including pics, and her playfulness and sense of humor came shining through, too, such as how she bestowed "awards" after each visit (like "floofiest tail" and "sweetest face"). So fun for me, always made me smile. And I returned home to happy cats (they got lots of attention in my absence so they weren't mad at me for leaving, and everything was perfect while I was away, even though they have kind of a complicated feeding routine due to health stuff... Caitlin got all the details right!). A pleasure coming home to happy cats and the apartment just the way I left it. I really couldn't be happier with Perna's Pet Care. Caitlin is fantastic, exceptional in her work, and she loves animals so much, that so clearly comes through. Because of Perna's, when I travel next, I'll only need to worry about stuff that doesn't have anything to do with the cats (i.e., parking at the airport, catching my plane, missing the connection, getting the rental car, etc etc etc). If you have animal companions you love and care about, and if you will ever travel (or be away from home during the day and can't let your pooch out) and need someone you can trust completely with your furkids, you need Perna's Pet Care in your life. Ug.. I really don't want to leave such a glowing review, because that means Caitlin will get all booked up and my pets won't be able to use their favorite pet sitter. The only bad thing I can say is your pets may like her more than they like you... I have used her a number of times since moving to Austin a year ago, at least once a month if not more. I have a 100 lb akita and 4 cats. I have used her to just stop by and walk the dog when I had a one day trip - and I have had her house sit when I have been gone for a week or more. I have no hesitation leaving my pets in her care... and I am EXTREMELY neurotic when it comes to my kids. I have one cat that is the definition of a scaredy cat - and is afraid of everything including her own shadow, but she lets Caitlin pet her. That's the best review I can give, Caitlin is amazing. She will take great care of your kids - just don't book her when I need her... seriously, please. read more

We have used Perna's pet care twice now for our pack, which includes two dogs and two cats, one who is geriatric and requires meds. Caitlin was amazing in doing the intake, coming to the house and meeting everyone and Jen, who has stayed with them overnight both times, is amazing! In fact, the animals are always better behaved and more settled when we return! The online app works really well and Jen stays regularly in touch. It takes a huge load off knowing our animal fam is in such good hands. Caitlin is amazing! She's taken great care of my sweet kitty precious Priscilla twice now and done a great job.
