The vet was offering me a "geriatric lab panel", which included urine and blood draw. I told her that I wanted to see how she(my cat) did with the urine collection before drawing blood. They took her back to get it, and 15 minutes later came back and said my cat went into cardiac arrest from the stress. She was dead and they were doing CPR. I found out they had also drawn the blood. It was a horrible experience and I can't imagine how scared my cat must've been. My sweet cat would still be alive if I hadn't taken her there. Also, the longer haired woman at the front desk is rude.

Incredibly disappointed with what was previously a fantastic veterinary practice. I have been a…read moreclient at Animal Kingdom for years now with multiple pets being patients here. The clinic has a new office administrator/manager who has chosen to enact new policies which I find untenable as a longtime client. Beyond that, Dudley's clear contempt for the clients who direct their business toward Animal Kingdom is beyond astonishing. The clinic now requires prepayment of a deposit before they will even schedule an appointment with a vet or even for just a nail trim. Contrary to the verbiage on their website, this policy now applies to ALL Animal Kingdom clients... or so I was told by the office manager, Dudley. I would completely understand this treatment if I had previously no-showed to an appointment or if I had ever failed to pay in full for services rendered at the time of the appointment. But as someone who has been a loyal customer for years, who has never once missed an appointment or not paid a bill in full, I find this new policy incredibly insulting. When I expressed my disappointment in being treated this way, I was told "only our deadbeat customers seem to have a problem with the deposit." The word deadbeat was literally directed at me by the incredibly rude clinic manager, Dudley. The clinic also now refuses to electronically verify prescriptions for Chewy in an attempt to force customers to use their overpriced pharmacy. They previously did this and their vets quite literally encouraged us to get the prescriptions elsewhere because of how expensive the in house pharmacy is. Apparently Dudley has decided to end this service and now you must mail a physical prescription to Chewy because Animal Kingdom staff won't take the time to verify a prescription. Chewy customer service has stated that I am not the first customer to run into this issue with Animal Kingdom. They also now refuse to renew my cat's flea and tick preventative unless I bring him in for a full wellness exam. My cat has taken the same flea/tick medication his entire life with zero issues, and I have never once been denied a refill prior to this new office manager implementing his new policies. If my cat was symptomatic or had any issues I would gladly take him in for an exam. I will not subject him to needless stress just to renew a medication that he has taken without issue for years. Again, this was never an issue in the past. It's a sudden new issue. Dudley claims this is a legal requirement, but also refuses to cite the MCL statute supposedly related to his claim that my cat had to be seen in person for a prescription refill. These policies strike me as being nothing more than a poorly veiled attempt at profiteering and increasing revenue. During a phone conversation with the office manager, Dudley, he repeatedly over-talked me and was incredibly condescending. He also threatened that he would contact my employer to falsely tell them that I was being verbally abusive to veterinary office staff (I work as a sales manager in the pet industry consulting with vets and pet store owners on a daily basis). I find this incredibly funny, as I recorded my interaction with him and did not raise my voice, swear, or do anything remotely insulting to the office manager or any of the clinic staff. When I asked when the clinic owner, Dr. Vicky D. Marsh, would be available to discuss my concerns about the new policies and his behavior/threats, the office administrator stated "I think this conversation is over" and refused to give me a time I could reach Dr. Marsh. As such I've reached out to Dr. Marsh through social media (Facebook) and used my industry contacts to track down her cell phone number in an effort to inform her of her employee's conduct. So far I've received no response. I'm really hoping Dr. Marsh has better customer service skills than her staff and will do the right thing as a business owner and reach out to discuss this situation. It's just absurd to have to resort to contacting a business owner through Facebook because an employee refuses to simply state when would be a good time to call and speak to the clinic's owner. Animal Kingdom has been a well respected veterinary clinic in the Saline and Ann Arbor area for years. It really is a tragic shame to see their previously stellar customer service take a rapid nose dive, only due to what seems to be a newly hired, power-tripping admin worker. As someone whose entire job and livelihood revolves around relationship building and providing quality customer service, I can't help but just shake my head at the way some people behave when dealing with their clients. The office manager truly needs a crash course in how to have a discourse with the clinic's clientele. I've already requested my pets' electronic medical records and will be looking for a new vet who doesn't employ admin staff who believe it is acceptable to treat their longtime clients like fraudsters.

I had a great relationship with them when Dr.Howe was there. Then they let him go to a nerve…read moredisorder which was a shame because he was excellent and could have verbally trained some new staff. He was a WONDERFUL VET. Then I started noticing little things that irritated me yet they called me a difficult client. They had treated my two cats. One had diabetes and other issues. This one girl never got along with me from the get go. She had an attituede and apologized for it a couple times, but yet still marked me as a difficult client. Well it is supposed to be an animal hospital...I ask you does an Animal HOSPITAL, have a right to call it's business this when they won't treat pets after business hours even though they have the appropriate equipment to treat them. I had a problem ONE TIME when they decided to treat my fur baby on a SATURDAY. The TECH they sent in to meet me was exadtly that a TECH, not a vet, yet they decided she would be good enough. WRONG....and the charges were astronomical!!! Then one time that I was leaving there I saw the receptionist give this woman the remains of her deceased dog, and just say "HAVE A NICE DAY"..... She was crying. I followed her out to her truck and asked her if she was ok, then she really started crying, and told her it was ok and asked her dog's name. Then I sat there and listened to her tell me stories about him. The poor lady. They should have had someone walk the lady out and listened to her for a few minutes. I couldn't believe it. FINALLY WHAT IT CAME DOWN TO WAS: My KITTY was sick and it looked like she was throwing up blood, i called the clinic and the lady said if you bring her right in the vet can see her, and I told her it would be a few minutes, because i knew it would be hard to get her into her carrier because if she is sick she hides. The girl said as long as your here before noon...and "Oh yes, you will be charged for the visit as an emergency. I got to the clinic and called them and told them I was there, and then they told me I coudn't get in to see her now because we had already made an appt. for MONDAY. I said yes we did as a f/u to today. And you told me that I could get in if i got here before noon. She kept insisting that I could not get her seen. After all the money I spent there. Each visit no matter what it was always costs almost 200.00 and they don't even give out complimentary nail cutting. Dr. Howe used to do that. I mean this business spent millions revampin g the place then raised their rates. I had beeen a client for over 10 years and probabvly put millions into it. And to have this business treat me like my kitty and I didn't matter was just horrible. It makes me wonder if i SHOULD TRUST ANY BUSINESS THAT CATERS TO FUR BABIES IN A NICE ENVIRONMENT. THEY GO THRU STAFF LIKE THEY ARE " disposable goods." THE WHOLE PLACE IS A SCAM FOR MONEY NOW. I had the utmost respect for it when DR. BOUVERETTE they were the initial owners. I can't believe they still own it. Then the vet has the audacity to tell me my kitty is overweight AND IF YOU KNEW HER SHE IS DEFINITELY A HYPOCRITE!!! And her husband worked there. Matter of fact I became a client back when they were first opening and the office looked poorish and they had a space heater. Dr. Bouverette came into meet my kitty and got down on the floor with it, and was petting it and talking so nice then they started upgrading and there were no good vets that would spend five minutes with you and discuss your furbaby. they did a sanitary shave on my baby cuz she has a birth defect and cut her and then tried to downplay it. meanwhile she got an infection. I wouldn't recommend this place if my life depended on it. I wish Dr. Bouverette still was a vet there and SAW WHAT WAS GOING ON THERE. LORI FOROOZANDEH 2015-2025

This Vet is highly incompetent and I will never be bringing our dogs back to this vet due to the…read moregross negligence. At this point, I feel like we have spent a ton of money and still have no clear answer about what is actually wrong with our dog. The communication and way this situation has been handled has been completely unacceptable. We originally brought our dog in because he was clearly not feeling well. We were told to bring in a urine sample, which we did and were charged for. Then, at his actual appointment, they ordered a blood work panel that already included urine testing. So we basically paid for a separate urine test for absolutely no reason. They then told us they believed he might have leptospirosis but weren't sure. My wife was told the test results should be back within 24 hours. When she called today for an update, she was told the results were back but the doctor still needed to review them. They also wanted our dog brought back for a weight check. My wife took him there and sat in the parking lot for more than 45 minutes, on hold, just trying to get someone to tell her when she could bring him inside. When she was finally told to come in, the vet came out yelling at her asking why our dog was inside because leptospirosis is highly contagious and he needed to leave immediately. My wife was completely confused because nobody had told us to treat our dog as contagious or given us any precautions to follow. We have another dog and a baby at home. If they believed there was a legitimate possibility that our dog had a contagious disease, that information should have been clearly explained to us immediately, along with what precautions we should be taking at home. Instead, they told us to bring him back to their office and then yelled at my wife for doing exactly what they told her to do. To make the situation even more frustrating, the vet then told my wife they actually don't have the leptospirosis results and that those results could take 7-10 business days, which is completely different from what we had previously been told. What I don't understand is the constant conflicting information, unnecessary charges, lack of communication, and then treating my wife like she did something wrong when she was following their instructions. We came here because we trusted them to care for our dog. Instead, we have spent a significant amount of money, still don't know what is wrong with him, and now don't even feel confident that we are being given accurate information about something that could potentially affect our other dog and our family. We will be finding another veterinarian. I have completely lost trust in this practice and do not feel like our dog is receiving the level of care we are paying for.
