Storm is not thrilled to be seeing the doctor today...
Kristine K.

When I adopted my little girl, she was SICK! Thanks to Ann Arbor Cat Clinic, I successfully nursed Storm back to health. The doctors and staff were dedicated to Storm's recovery, and I received frequent phone calls to check on her progress. Storm was always handled with gentle and deft hands, and I was forever surprised how quickly she returned to me after a blood draw -- Seemingly, no worse for the wear. Overall, the Ann Arbor Cat Clinic is the only place I will take my feline for non-urgent medical care.

Waiting for Dr Taylor

I really like the care and attention that AACC provides with every visit. My baby Lightning was diagnosed with diabetes a few months ago. The care and follow ups he gets here are wonderful. They run a no-kill shelter for strays, and it's always nice to get and give a little kitty love with every visit. I recommend that if you're looking for a new family member, check out the fur babies here first. Also, consider getting an adult cat, they are already litter trained, and you can see their personality while you visit with them there. The staff are all able to tell you about the personalities of each of the cats waiting for their new forever home. I really like that they only treat cats. There will never be any barking dogs that will stress out your cat during the visit. My cats Toby and Lightning are both scared of dogs, so it's very stressful for them to be in a waiting room with dogs barking so close to them. They are much calmer and more cooperative when they have their appointments, since I started taking them to AACC.

Condolence bouquet from Ann Arbor Cat Clinic

I recently had to put down my sweet kitty, whom I adopted from the AACC's program in 2012. He was an adult with an unknown past, but he was wonderful and cuddly and slept with me every night. The AACC is my regular vet, and I use them for checkups, vaccinations, etc. When I started noticing some changes in my kitty's health, I brought him in for what was to become our 7 month battle with chronic pancreatitis and, at the very end, other complications. I worked with pretty much all the doctors on staff at some point, but in the end, I was working almost exclusively with Dr. Kaufeld, and also to some extent Dr. Griebe (whom I like very much). Dr. Kaufeld and I just clicked. We got each other. Together, we tried numerous things until we got something that worked. I felt like she really cared and was invested in both of us. When it was time for my boy to go, we both just knew it, and no debating was needed. He passed very peacefully in a comfortable special room at the AACC, and Dr. Kaufeld gave him a kiss. The AACC contracts with a company for cremation services for a very reasonable price, and you also get a plaque with pawprints and your pet's name. I was shocked to see the price of euthanasia plus this service, as I expected it to be double. The next day, I got a knock on my door, and AACC had sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers saying they were sorry for my loss. I almost lost it. It was such a thoughtful gesture. When the time comes, I'll use the AACC for my next cat, and I'll probably go back to seeing whichever vet is there for routine checkups, because Dr. Kaufeld is unfortunately in usually only one day per week (Thursdays and the occasional Saturday). After seeing their class acts when the going got tough, I can't imagine being without them.

So far so good! I've taken all three of my cats there, one of which who is a problem child when it comes to the vets office (they literally did his check up in the sink ). The vet (Dr. Lynch) and techs are always gentle and understanding. I felt like the advice I was given was honest and for my cats and my best interest and not just to get money out of me. Four stars only because it is on the pricey side, but overall I think it's worth it.

Compassionate Care Animal Hospital - We welcome Dr. Morton to our team!

After my original review, Dr. Forbes personally reached out to me to discuss the situation…read moreregarding our dog. I truly appreciated her taking the time to call directly, explain the medical findings in greater detail, answer questions, and acknowledge concerns about how the situation had been handled during our visit with Dr. Morton. During that conversation, Dr. Forbes clarified several aspects of the diagnosis, the reasoning behind the recommendations that had been made, and the potential treatment paths available moving forward. While we still do not have a completely clear avenue or easy decision ahead of us regarding our dog's care, the conversation itself was compassionate, professional, and constructive. I also appreciated that concerns regarding communication and bedside manner during the original appointment were taken seriously rather than dismissed. Emotions were understandably high on all sides during an incredibly difficult situation, but having ownership acknowledge those concerns and work toward rebuilding communication meant a great deal to us. This does not completely erase the stress, confusion, and frustration we experienced during the initial visit, particularly regarding how options and pain management discussions were communicated. However, Dr. Forbes' willingness to personally step in, listen, and help rebuild trust did restore some confidence in the practice and reminded us why we trusted Compassionate Care for so many years in the first place. At the end of the day, this remains an incredibly painful and emotional situation for our family, but I do believe the follow-up conversation was an important and appreciated step toward repairing the relationship between our family and the clinic.

They care for them as if they are their own and every single person I have met or interacted with has been very friendly and professional and I am shocked they don't have 5 stars across the board. The few visits we have had with Dr. Cervantes have also been great and got to the bottom of a medical issue after we first moved here, and every member of their staff has also been amazing and I truly feel they all care for my boys like they are their own (Special shout out to to the extra love and attention Brynn has given Cooper). I appreciate the lack of waiting room with curb side check in as both of my boys are anxious going to the vet and this makes it so much less stressful for them/me. I can't recommend them enough - 5 stars all the way would give more if I could. Thank you Compassionate Care Animal Hospital for taking such amazing care of my boys!!

No matter how careful you are, there will come a time when your pet will suffer a medical emergency…read morethat will be life-threatening in nature and require immediate treatment to save its life. Such was the case a few weeks ago, when my beloved Autumn developed a severe case of constipation, and couldn't defecate, which was making her severely dehydrated due to persistent vomiting that was caused by her primary condition. At the recommendation of my local veterinarian who was booked solid for the next two weeks, they told me about the "Ann Arbor Animal Hospital" located on the city's west side and highly recommended them. The Ann Arbor Animal Hospital (AAAHP), has been in existence since the early-to-mid 1930s and was the first of its kind to open in the entire region. There's an old saying that when it comes to medicine, experience counts the most and this is especially true at this veterinary facility. The staff at the AAAHP are required to attend 30 hours per year of continuing education, as part of their commitment to excellence to their patients and the community as a whole. This is a key factor in making sure the AAAHP is continually improving their skills, and updating the entire hospital on the latest medical developments and advances in veterinary care. When I called the AAAHP, they asked me a few questions about my cat's condition, and it was decided that I should bring her in to their "Urgent Care" section right away. So I loaded up Autumn into her carrier, and off we went to the hospital. It was here that Dr. Brian Fryburg, took her into the back and they proceeded to give my cat not one, but two enemas to try and help loosen her up. Finally, it was decided to sedate her, and use a manual extraction method to get things moving again, which finally worked. I can't say enough good things about Brian Fryburg, DVM and the staff at AAAHP. Throughout Autumn's stay in urgent care, Doctor Fryburg would come in and provide me with continuing updates on her condition, procedures being undertaken and potential costs involved. He really kept me in the loop, and made sure my senior cat was taken care of properly. For any pet owner, having routine checkup visits to the veterinarian is a must. However, there will come a time when your pet will face a medical emergency and require immediate care to save its life. You can be rest assured that the staff at the AAAHP will provide your cat, dog, or rabbit with the most modern and effective treatments possible to save it's life.
