Ryan has been an amazing addition to Oliver's weekly routine! Ryan takes him on scenic and long hikes. I really appreciate the pictures and text updates that Ryan sends me about their adventures, it makes me feel really at ease that our baby boy is in good hands. Oliver comes home both mentally and physically exercised, it makes such a huge impact on his demeanor. Another service that Ryan offers is care visits while we are away overnight or for extended time during the day. At first I was worried about leaving our Oliver home alone overnight, but after trying this service out it has been a useful and convenient option for us. When we come home we can tell that Oliver is not anxious or stressed. Having someone we can count on to take care of our baby boy has definitely added more flexibility to the social lives of two working parents!

Ryan was absolutely wonderful with our one-year-old Dutch Shepherd. From their first meeting Ryan made our pup feel welcome, cared for, and safe. This was especially important to me, as I was transitioning between taking care of our dog full-time to working outside our home. It was anxiety-inducing for me and our dog, to say the least. Well, at least it was for me because I didn't have someone like Ryan to ease my transition.... Thanks to Ryan, we came home each night to a happy, well-exercised, healthy dog. He loved Ryan's sweet dog, Quigley, and even perked up his ears when I asked him if he saw his buddies that day. They had some great adventures on the Iron Horse Trail together. If you are looking for reliable, high-quality care for your dog with personable service that you can count on day-in and day-out, contact Ryan. Your dog will be in the best hands. Des will miss Ryan now that we've moved away. But we'll always be so thankful for him. Thank you, Ryan!

COVID RESPONSE UPDATE:…read more Our pup Oliver has been feeling super cooped up over the last few months. Walks can only do so much and he was really restless and getting into some trouble around the house. He really needed some socialization so we decided to take him to BreedAbove for a play date. I called ahead to make sure his vaccines were up to date (it's been a while since he had been) and emailed the updated certificates to get him all set up. The next day we dropped him off and he was SO EXCITED he didn't even look back at me as they took him in. He had the best time and I was so happy to see him tired and satisfied. "He played hard with EVERYONE!" they told me when I picked him up! Pick up and drop off is all curbside and staff is masked. I was so happy to see some of our favorite staff members there after almost a year away, and they were just as excited to see Oliver, remembering him after all this time (they also remembered his sister Poppy, who is not so into playing with other dogs and stayed home with us). The windows are all decorated super cute with lots of positive notes painted on the side. I had to update my payment info since my card expired since last we were here and they came out to take the card and brought it back out to me so I didn't have to go inside at all. I ended up buying another batch of day passes for him and I'm excited to be able to drop him off easily and safely whenever he needs a little excitement.

Incredibly disappointed with what was previously a fantastic veterinary practice. I have been a…read moreclient at Animal Kingdom for years now with multiple pets being patients here. The clinic has a new office administrator/manager who has chosen to enact new policies which I find untenable as a longtime client. Beyond that, Dudley's clear contempt for the clients who direct their business toward Animal Kingdom is beyond astonishing. The clinic now requires prepayment of a deposit before they will even schedule an appointment with a vet or even for just a nail trim. Contrary to the verbiage on their website, this policy now applies to ALL Animal Kingdom clients... or so I was told by the office manager, Dudley. I would completely understand this treatment if I had previously no-showed to an appointment or if I had ever failed to pay in full for services rendered at the time of the appointment. But as someone who has been a loyal customer for years, who has never once missed an appointment or not paid a bill in full, I find this new policy incredibly insulting. When I expressed my disappointment in being treated this way, I was told "only our deadbeat customers seem to have a problem with the deposit." The word deadbeat was literally directed at me by the incredibly rude clinic manager, Dudley. The clinic also now refuses to electronically verify prescriptions for Chewy in an attempt to force customers to use their overpriced pharmacy. They previously did this and their vets quite literally encouraged us to get the prescriptions elsewhere because of how expensive the in house pharmacy is. Apparently Dudley has decided to end this service and now you must mail a physical prescription to Chewy because Animal Kingdom staff won't take the time to verify a prescription. Chewy customer service has stated that I am not the first customer to run into this issue with Animal Kingdom. They also now refuse to renew my cat's flea and tick preventative unless I bring him in for a full wellness exam. My cat has taken the same flea/tick medication his entire life with zero issues, and I have never once been denied a refill prior to this new office manager implementing his new policies. If my cat was symptomatic or had any issues I would gladly take him in for an exam. I will not subject him to needless stress just to renew a medication that he has taken without issue for years. Again, this was never an issue in the past. It's a sudden new issue. Dudley claims this is a legal requirement, but also refuses to cite the MCL statute supposedly related to his claim that my cat had to be seen in person for a prescription refill. These policies strike me as being nothing more than a poorly veiled attempt at profiteering and increasing revenue. During a phone conversation with the office manager, Dudley, he repeatedly over-talked me and was incredibly condescending. He also threatened that he would contact my employer to falsely tell them that I was being verbally abusive to veterinary office staff (I work as a sales manager in the pet industry consulting with vets and pet store owners on a daily basis). I find this incredibly funny, as I recorded my interaction with him and did not raise my voice, swear, or do anything remotely insulting to the office manager or any of the clinic staff. When I asked when the clinic owner, Dr. Vicky D. Marsh, would be available to discuss my concerns about the new policies and his behavior/threats, the office administrator stated "I think this conversation is over" and refused to give me a time I could reach Dr. Marsh. As such I've reached out to Dr. Marsh through social media (Facebook) and used my industry contacts to track down her cell phone number in an effort to inform her of her employee's conduct. So far I've received no response. I'm really hoping Dr. Marsh has better customer service skills than her staff and will do the right thing as a business owner and reach out to discuss this situation. It's just absurd to have to resort to contacting a business owner through Facebook because an employee refuses to simply state when would be a good time to call and speak to the clinic's owner. Animal Kingdom has been a well respected veterinary clinic in the Saline and Ann Arbor area for years. It really is a tragic shame to see their previously stellar customer service take a rapid nose dive, only due to what seems to be a newly hired, power-tripping admin worker. As someone whose entire job and livelihood revolves around relationship building and providing quality customer service, I can't help but just shake my head at the way some people behave when dealing with their clients. The office manager truly needs a crash course in how to have a discourse with the clinic's clientele. I've already requested my pets' electronic medical records and will be looking for a new vet who doesn't employ admin staff who believe it is acceptable to treat their longtime clients like fraudsters.

Karla advertises her services for dogs as being cage free with an area to roam. While this may appeal to many people (it certainly appealed to me), my dog picked up Giardia from running around in her yard. Giardia is usually transmitted from dog to dogs through fecal material. Most likely what happened was that one of her resident dogs (she owns five), had Giardia, pooped in the backyard, and then my dog inevitable stepped in it. Karla does not allow tours of her facilities. It is highly likely given the volume of pets that she services, that she does not regularly clean the mud and fecal material in her yard. This is unacceptable for someone that takes care of pets. When confronting her about him picking up Giardia from her. She simply replied "that's just the way it is, it's something that just happens to the dogs that I really can do nothing about." I generally don't review much on Yelp, but I really want to urge anyone considering Karla's Bed and Biscuit to look elsewhere. She is an irresponsible caretaker of pets and your dollars are better spent elsewhere.

She responded quickly saying she could watch him and asked me if I'd like to set up a day of doggy daycare first to see how he does. I responded, saying yes and asking when she could fit him in. I never received a response after that. I tried calling, and emailing... on different days even... and received nothing. Finally, I emailed Karla telling her I would need to book with someone else because I'm running out of time and she isn't answering me. I sent that email weeks ago and STILL never heard a word from her. Very disappointed. I understand being busy but if you tell someone you can watch their pet and then you don't return any of their calls/emails after that... that is quite unprofessional and now I've been in a bind trying to find someone else who can watch him. Really disappointed.

This is a review for dog walking, doggy daycare, and dog boarding…read more I found Peaceable Pets after a very thorough vetting (I am convinced I should have been cast in the movie Best in Show--yes, that is how much of a crazy dog lady I consider myself). Time and again, people on the Ann Arbor Dog Owners Facebook group mentioned Peaceable Pets. I read all the reviews, stalked Peaceable Pet's Facebook page (where Robin posts videos of her guests and informative articles about all things animals), scrutinized the information on her website, did a meet and greet with Marcy, our dog walker, a play date at the Dellwood Doggy Ranch (required for doggy daycare and boarders). I give it 10/10 stars. Peaceable Pets is an Ann Arbor treasure. You will not find someone more knowledgeable about dogs than Robin. Some reasons I love what Robin offers: 1. She understands my dog's unique personality, quirks, and needs. 2. She prioritizes the safety, well-being, and quality of life for my dog. 3. The pick-up and drop-off times worked well with my schedule, which was variable for a while, and then predictable for another while. 4. I trust her 100%. 5. Every time I bring Hagrid to her, he bounds toward her and doesn't even look back to say goodbye. Every dog parent knows that is a good sign. 6. Hagrid is calm and content when he returns from daycare. ...I could go on and on. As for dog walking, Marcy was wonderful and reliable. A few times I bumped into Marcy while I was walking Hagrid and saw his entire body language and vocalization over his joy of seeing Marcy. There is no stronger endorsement than that, in my opinion. To top it all off, Robin and Marcy have really interesting personalities, back stories, and talents when they are not caring for our beloved animals. Marcy speaks French. Robin sings in a band. They are the absolute best.
