Took Parakeet in to have its nails clipped. The employee clipped the birds' nails in a most unconventional way as I've been told by other vets in the area after describing how he handled the bird. You don't fling the scissors at the bird as you move the bird back and forth. The bird was scared and bit him, so he held it tighter by the abdomen. Birds don't have diaphragms like humans. He suffocated it and it died in front of us. The vet tried to blame it for other reasons which were untrue. He was flying around and eating breakfast with us right before we took him in. It's obvious they are trying to downplay the situation. Please don't take your pet there if you love it!

Finding a fast appointment with an exotic vet is never easy. We came here for our first time while we couldn't get in with our normal vet and were AMAZED! We took our 2 rabbits to Dr. Fisher & will now be bringing them here from now on. The campus is beautiful with animals all around the outside we enjoyed viewing while waiting for our rabbits to be brought back to us. 10/10 RECOMMEND! Great techs, great vets & great environment.

Thank you animal kingdom for taking care of the little Baby bunny my dog decided to snack on for dinner last night. Abby at the front desk was so nice!

I didn't take my pet here -- however, they still managed to help me out in a pinch with my pooch. We have brought our dog home from neutering at the MHS. I felt a little bad getting an older dog neutered, but we had to promise the HS we would. Sparky Coupon was healing nicely for the most part, but he seemed to be a busy-body of a licker, trying to get at his stitches. So, alas, the nurse at the humane society gave us a cone/lampshade collar for Sparks to wear. He was not a fan at all, and starting freaking out a little about it. We called, and they recommended finding a place that offered "soft collars." The local pet store didn't stock the size I needed, but the folks there were kind enough to give me phone #s for other vet clinics that I could call to ask if they could locate this mythical soft collar. It took a few calls before I connected with Animal Kingdom. The woman on the phone was extremely kind, a good listener, and double-checked to make sure that they did have the size I would need in stock. When I got there, I was plenty impressed with the whole facility. They have a sanctuary area outside that seems to be home to a variety of intriguing birds -- a peacock, some tropical birdies. Very cool. They also seem to have the resources to treat animals other than just dogs and cats, and they have an adjacent groomer as well. I was presented with two different sizes of soft collars and I picked the one that seemed the best fit. One I brought it home, it did fit Sparky Coupon well, but alas, the little dude is just too flexible and so it was back to the hard-shell cone. That wasn't AK's fault, though. I am confident it may have worked with a less flexible pet. I was impressed enough, however, that even though it's located almost out in Saline, I think that this may become Sparky's new local vet as soon as we transition from the Humane Society's care. Hope Sparky can get that cone off his poor lil' head soon!

There need to be more stars in order to rate Animal Kingdom! I bring my dogs and birds to them. I am always happy with the treatment my babies receive. Their veterinarians are patient and take the time to answer all my questions. The techs are well trained and friendly. Prices are very reasonable and well worth it.

Compassionate Care Animal Hospital - We welcome Dr. Morton to our team!

After my original review, Dr. Forbes personally reached out to me to discuss the situation…read moreregarding our dog. I truly appreciated her taking the time to call directly, explain the medical findings in greater detail, answer questions, and acknowledge concerns about how the situation had been handled during our visit with Dr. Morton. During that conversation, Dr. Forbes clarified several aspects of the diagnosis, the reasoning behind the recommendations that had been made, and the potential treatment paths available moving forward. While we still do not have a completely clear avenue or easy decision ahead of us regarding our dog's care, the conversation itself was compassionate, professional, and constructive. I also appreciated that concerns regarding communication and bedside manner during the original appointment were taken seriously rather than dismissed. Emotions were understandably high on all sides during an incredibly difficult situation, but having ownership acknowledge those concerns and work toward rebuilding communication meant a great deal to us. This does not completely erase the stress, confusion, and frustration we experienced during the initial visit, particularly regarding how options and pain management discussions were communicated. However, Dr. Forbes' willingness to personally step in, listen, and help rebuild trust did restore some confidence in the practice and reminded us why we trusted Compassionate Care for so many years in the first place. At the end of the day, this remains an incredibly painful and emotional situation for our family, but I do believe the follow-up conversation was an important and appreciated step toward repairing the relationship between our family and the clinic.

They care for them as if they are their own and every single person I have met or interacted with has been very friendly and professional and I am shocked they don't have 5 stars across the board. The few visits we have had with Dr. Cervantes have also been great and got to the bottom of a medical issue after we first moved here, and every member of their staff has also been amazing and I truly feel they all care for my boys like they are their own (Special shout out to to the extra love and attention Brynn has given Cooper). I appreciate the lack of waiting room with curb side check in as both of my boys are anxious going to the vet and this makes it so much less stressful for them/me. I can't recommend them enough - 5 stars all the way would give more if I could. Thank you Compassionate Care Animal Hospital for taking such amazing care of my boys!!

No matter how careful you are, there will come a time when your pet will suffer a medical emergency…read morethat will be life-threatening in nature and require immediate treatment to save its life. Such was the case a few weeks ago, when my beloved Autumn developed a severe case of constipation, and couldn't defecate, which was making her severely dehydrated due to persistent vomiting that was caused by her primary condition. At the recommendation of my local veterinarian who was booked solid for the next two weeks, they told me about the "Ann Arbor Animal Hospital" located on the city's west side and highly recommended them. The Ann Arbor Animal Hospital (AAAHP), has been in existence since the early-to-mid 1930s and was the first of its kind to open in the entire region. There's an old saying that when it comes to medicine, experience counts the most and this is especially true at this veterinary facility. The staff at the AAAHP are required to attend 30 hours per year of continuing education, as part of their commitment to excellence to their patients and the community as a whole. This is a key factor in making sure the AAAHP is continually improving their skills, and updating the entire hospital on the latest medical developments and advances in veterinary care. When I called the AAAHP, they asked me a few questions about my cat's condition, and it was decided that I should bring her in to their "Urgent Care" section right away. So I loaded up Autumn into her carrier, and off we went to the hospital. It was here that Dr. Brian Fryburg, took her into the back and they proceeded to give my cat not one, but two enemas to try and help loosen her up. Finally, it was decided to sedate her, and use a manual extraction method to get things moving again, which finally worked. I can't say enough good things about Brian Fryburg, DVM and the staff at AAAHP. Throughout Autumn's stay in urgent care, Doctor Fryburg would come in and provide me with continuing updates on her condition, procedures being undertaken and potential costs involved. He really kept me in the loop, and made sure my senior cat was taken care of properly. For any pet owner, having routine checkup visits to the veterinarian is a must. However, there will come a time when your pet will face a medical emergency and require immediate care to save its life. You can be rest assured that the staff at the AAAHP will provide your cat, dog, or rabbit with the most modern and effective treatments possible to save it's life.
