I've taken my dog here since he has been about 6 months old (he is now 6) and always had a great experience. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs and their wellbeing. The biggest part that sells me on how great they are is how excited my dog gets when we pull into the parking lot. read more

I bring Carl to Arbor Dog on days when I work long hours. They are open for drop off at 6;30 am and close at 7 pm M-F and also have weekend hours. He has also stayed overnight when I cannot take him with me out of town. There are numerous "rooms" for dogs of different temperament and energy. It is all crate free, all the time. Each room has an outdoor area that dogs access by a garage door. They have a special artificial grass, so he does not come home dirty. Staff are so loving and take great care of him. How can I be sure? There are cameras. And you can tell in how they interact with the dogs. I have known the owner, Margaret for over 12 years. She and her husband are committed to providing the best care at an affordable price. And there are the special events. You can sign up for Halloween photos, pictures with Santa and doggie craft projects. Carl loves going, and comes home tired. What else could I ask for? read more

I had an uneasy feeling the moment I called them and heard many dogs barking in the background and called a week later to ask a question and again so many dogs barking. Let me preface this by stating that our dog has been in daycare before, Happy Hounds in Plymouth, they are caged free too. We wanted to try Arbor Dog Daycare because we moved to this area from Canton. I Dropped our dog off there for his 3 hour temperament test on July 11th and I watched him on the webcams, to say he was stressed the entire time is an understatement! (yes, I watched the entire time) the young lady that was working In that room did not pay any attention to him at all, he was following her around like a cling-on, she never once pet him or looked at him. At one point there were three dogs that had Kramer up against the vinyl fence and she did nothing about it! This place looks fabulous on their website video, but it smells like a bunch of wet dogs and again so much barking, the barking tells me they are stressed and not wanting to be there. The cheap vinyl fencing they have deciding the rooms are a joke and pointless, all of the dogs are reacting to all of the smells of other dogs and reacting to other dogs barking. I will gladly drive 40 minutes to take my dog to Happy Hounds where he is very happy and content! I am amazed that people think that having your dog at a daycare where dogs are constantly barking is a normal occurrence. When I picked our dog up I did tell the young man what I witnessed and that it was pretty concerning. The best part was being charged $17.00 for this useless temperament test‍‍ #donttakeyourdoghere read more

We have been been bringing our dog Darwin to Arbor Dog for many years. We have, as well as Darwin, always have been very happy with the facility. Yesterday, they went above and beyond their normal great service. As I was dropping Darwin off for a weekend of boarding, Margaret ( the owner) noticed that Darwin had a swollen area on the left side of his face. She said she would keep an eye on him, and if necessary take him to the vet. I received a call in a few hours from Margaret, saying that Darwin was drooling excessively and that she was going to take him to the vet. After seeing the vet (accessed tooth) Margaret picked him up and brought him back to Arbor Dog. The staff started him on his medication. I couldn't thank Margaret and her staff enough for the care they gave our Darwin. Thank you Arbor Dog. read more

I was stressed about finding an affordable, yet high quality doggy daycare and boarding facility for my 4 month old Golden Retriever. A coworker of mine recommended Arbor Dog Daycare and after extensive research, I felt it really was the best value in Ann Arbor. Stella was nervous on her first day but the workers made sure she was safe and comforted when she wanted to hide under the couches. Their online webcams of the facility are great and you can tell the staff really cares about the dogs. I also like that the much larger breeds of dogs are kept separate from other dogs. After a short time, Stella warmed up to the other dogs and she now comes home from daycare exhausted and happy. I have photos to prove it! read more

I love this place. My dog enjoys playing with the wide variety of dogs. I love that they have different areas for the dogs temperament...(small dog room), puppy room, big dog room. I love the cameras where I can view my dog and I really appreciate the cage free environment. I had the opportunity to meet the owners at. Huron valley humane society's walk and wag and they are great, and truly love their vision. All the workers are amazing, and they don't discriminate on breed of dog, which is phenomenal! I defiantly recommend arbor dog for your pup! read more

It is such a relief to be able to rely on Arbor Dog Daycare when I'm out of town or having work done on my house. I only use Arbor Dog Daycare once or twice a month on average, but they know my dogs by name every time. My dogs always come home happy and tired out. Their bathing and nail services are also excellent. Couldn't be happier! read more

I had an appointment for a meet and greet for my golden Millie today I filled out the paperwork and they said bring Milly over to the side and I says I would like to see were Mill is going to be staying I'm not going to just drop her off and her response was well you should've let us know earlier because we're really busy today well that's the whole intention of having a meet and greet so she already had Millie's leash in her hand she threw it at me and I pick Milly up and walked out I would never take my dog there and I would never recommend it the receptionist was extremely rude. read more

We came to do a temperament test for the day and were greatly disappointed by their customer service. First off, two of their employees showed up more than 15-20 minutes late, leaving all of their customers and dogs waiting outside. After we walked in, the person who is now very late decided to ignore customers and attend to her duties, leaving everyone who was outside waiting for her for another 5 minutes. As new customers, we had no idea about the protocols and procedures; a simple "wait a few moments, be right with you," or "hello" would have been suitable. When we finally were greeted, filled out the form, she did not explain us anything about the facility, how they separated their animals, how they keep them active, if they get walked, or how we request something specific; rather it was a perfunctory drop-off. We went home to check the cameras and none of them seemed to load. All the still images that were offered in lieu of the cameras were the same still images repeated. A compilation of doggy cams not working, multiple staff members being very late, and how they handle dog screenings made me say: No thank you! read more

This is a great place for both daycare and boarding. My pup runs to the door everyday so she must love it. The staff is really helpful and positive. I can highly recommend AD2! read more

Ann Arbor is so lucky to have such a wonderful option for doggy daycare and boarding. My father's dog attends frequently, and recently had to be boarded unexpectedly for several weeks during a family illness, and he was treated beautifully, showered with love, and the staff was always incredibly accommodating and wonderful to work with. Five stars all the way. I wish we had Arbor Dog where I live! read more

I have been taking my dog here for daycare and occasional overnight stays for a little while now. They open early enough for me to drop him off before work, which I do appreciate. However, I am not sure what has changed. The past few times I have taken my dog there, he would become sick either after he has been picked up or the next day. I took my dog there last Friday and within 5 minutes of picking him up, he puked all over the back seat of my car. He continued to throw up 2 more times after getting home. Even though he stopped throwing up that day, I could tell he wasn't feeling that well. He didn't eat his food for a few days, barely drank any water, and had the big 'D'. I have also taken him to plenty of other doggy daycares and he has never gotten sick. I did call them about what he eats during the day and they said they do not feed them anything, even treats unless I give approval and provide the treats. If this is the case, it sounds like there is a cleanliness problem. The other thing I noticed is he often needs a bath after picking him up because he has pee and dirt (I hope dirt) on his legs and paws. I understand dogs are dogs and will get dirty, but I don't understand why his legs and paws would be covered in pee every time. read more

My wife and I could not be happier with a business. We have boarded our hound there for nearly 5 years. The staff has been nothing but outstanding, many know our hound by name. I would recommend Arbor Dog Daycare to anyone in need of quality half day, full day or boarding. Y'all rock!! read more

We left our dog for a half day trial and when we picked him up we found he had an injury on his rear leg. After $250 spent at urgent care we talked to the manager who was very sorry and did not know how it happened. I should have known better as there seemed to be too many dogs all in a small area. No green space for the dogs either and just pens setup inside an industrial warehouse. read more

I had an incredibly negative experience with this establishment. I dropped off my dog for their 3-hour temperament test. Within 45 minutes of me dropping him off, I called to let them know that I would be delivering his lunch mid-morning. During this call they asked me, "How long has your dog had a limp?" My dog has never had a limp and was incredibly healthy and fit. The web cam was conveniently not working when the injury incurred. Distressed about what happened, I immediately left work to pick him up. He was indeed badly injured and was unable to use his back leg. The employees on duty said they "didn't know what happened, he was in a room alone." There was zero explanation, no apology for their lack of supervision, and even worse they did not follow up on how he was doing. After taking him to the vet to get looked at, I learned that he had shattered his knee cap and he was going to need intensive surgery to repair the leg. My vet was very clear, that this type of injury is caused by "blunt force to the knee cap." His surgery cost over $5k and Arbor Dog will take zero responsibility. This place is extremely unorganized, unhygienic, and too crowded. Please do not take your dog to this business; it is not healthy for your sweet pup. Please seek out other care for your animal; it will be worth your time. read more

we took my dog here for a temperament test back in november. my dog is very relaxed and calm, but a little shy and reserved because we adopted him from a shelter. when we dropped him off they called us maybe an hour later saying "he's hiding in a corner and seems uncomfortable i think its best you come get him and we'll try again in a few months when he gets more established". we agreed with their decision because we just got him 2 months prior and thought maybe its too soon. today we took him back there and we were told the same exact thing. but when we looked on the cameras he wasn't hiding in a corner, he was following the dogs, hanging out laying down just chilling. they said he seems uncomfortable & clearly doesnt "love it". not all dogs like going to daycare plus he was literally hanging out laying down & following the other dogs what more does he need to do? he's not very energetic i dont know what they expected. he never actively hurt a dog or tore anything up he was simply laying down, that seems like an easy dog to look after. needless to say im glad we arent taking him back there anymore because the people that are in the room with the dogs never show any attention to the dogs anyway they sit on the couch for a couple minutes then walk out & leave some dogs alone in the room unattended. if you want my dog to love it so bad, try and interact with him and make him trust you. read more

I will never bring my dog here again. I left my chihuahua in the care of Arbor dog daycare for 4 days. I sent her with 3 weeks worth of food (a whole bag) and a specific size cup for measuring. My friend boarded his 2 large dogs at the same time. He left specific instructions with special food for his dogs. His food was measured out by the exact amount his dogs would need for the 4 day stay. While we were gone we rarely saw the dogs on the cameras, and saw my chihuahua once. The website states that dogs are separated by size and temperament. My chihuahua was seen on camera in a room with large dogs. When we returned to get the dogs after our vacation the door to the kennel was locked and 4 people were standing outside on a 93 degree day trying to figure out how to get in. When someone finally answered their phone the man said the lock sometimes sticks.... why not FIX it?! You are a business! All of my chihuahua toy breed food was gone and all of the large dogs special food was returned. That means there wasn't enough food for the stay. One of the large dogs is a puppy and requires a lot of food. So when did the food run out? Who didn't get fed? Why wasn't I notified? All of the dogs smelled like urine. Not new urine, but old pungent urine. That should never happen if the dogs are cared for properly and accidents cleaned up immediately. The smell was stuck in the car so I had to shampoo the car and the dogs. Unacceptable! I attempted to contact the owner or a manager via email 3 times and called once. More than a week has gone by and I haven't gotten a response. I would like a replacement of the food that was wrongly given to other dogs. And I'd like an explanation as to why the dogs smell so badly of urine. My dog and the other 2 are 100% house trained. read more

Our 3 year old lab mix loves Arbor Dog probably as much as he loves his own home. Whenever we get out of the car there he literally jumps for joy, and he dreads having to leave his friends at the end of the day or weekend. It's so great that they all sleep in the same room together instead of being separated at night. The staff there know him and me by name and always give great reports. On occasion he'll get a scrape or something because he plays pretty hard but they always let me know and treat it if necessary with a little ointment. The webcams are great for checking in, too. read more

I'm so glad I found this place! Super friendly staff and a wonderful safe environment for my dog.

Arbor Dog Daycare is absolutely amazing. Every single person who works there is so nice, and they are totally all about the dogs. I trust them completely. My dog got very sick once when he was there, and we were out of town and not able to get home immediately. Margaret and Susan took my dog to the vet, sent me constant updates, and by the time I got back everything was taken of. There's no way I would take my dogs anywhere but Arbor Dog. read more

I have never written an online review for anything before, but had such a horrible experience at this establishment that I felt the need to share to prevent someone else wasting their time. I took my sweet, 8 month old puppy to Arbor Dog for their three hour "temperament test." My dog can be nervous in new places or around new people so I specifically noted this in her intake form. When I walked in, the staff was extremely short and rude, not even saying "hello" to me. (They were not busy as I was the only customer there.) About an hour after I dropped her off, I watched her via the webcam and saw her running, playing, and sniffing with other dogs - happy as a clam! So I was shocked when I went to pick her up after the three hours and again was not greeted with a hello but instead a "well it wasn't her best day." The employee proceeded to claim my dog "escaped her collar"- I run 2 miles with her every morning and have to pull her fairly hard to get her away from squirrels etc. I've never had an issue with her collar coming off. Someone must have been YANKING her extremely, inappropriately hard. I was told they tried to "wrangle her" but she "hid the entire three hours and didn't interact with any people or dogs." In the same rude manner the employee implied my dog was aggressive (something that shocked not only me but also all my family and friends that spend significant time with my dog) but wouldn't give me a straight answer on what "aggression" was shown. I responded telling the employee what I had seen on the webcam and she said "oh well she started to come out of her shell during the last hour." Except....I saw her playing happily way before the last hour. I was then told that "Daycare isn't the right environment" for my dog. This is a dog that has lived with four other dogs, has spent countless hours at dog parks, and is a member at a private dog park that requires a very similar temperament test that she passed with flying colors! According to this employee, my dog "technically passed, and they are willing to give her another chance." No thanks - seems to me these people were unnecessarily rough with my puppy in a situation they were told she would be nervous in, therefore causing her to hide from them, if that's even really what happened. Absolutely no compassion, zero customer service, and not a good place for any dog that you want treated with kindness and understanding. I'll take my twice-a-week daycare business back to Camp Bow Wow, it's a farther drive and more expensive but well worth it! read more

We visited from out of town and needed doggie care day only for a single day. I want to give a HUGH HUG and SHOUTOUT to John, Margaret and the rest of the staff at Arbor Dog. I had a pitty that I was just not able to provide enough attention to. The showed her so much love, even went as far as taking her boiled eggs lol because that is one of her favorite foods. Margaret would send me updates on Nala along with pictures of how she had been doing. I can not show enough appreciation to all of you. Thank you so very much. read more
