I used this place three times for grooming my dog. The first time, I had a younger woman, and when I asked to have her cut the same for the whole body, she said, "Oh, so you don't want your dog to have any personality?" Um, okay... maybe it's boring for you to have her done that way, but it's how I like it. She did do a good job, so that was at least nice. The second time, I had an older woman do it, and she left a whole bunch of wax in my dog's ears (right there on the surface, so it would have been easy to trim off.) I ended up having to do it with scissors at home, which was more difficult and dangerous. She has the better tools to do it, so that was pretty disappointing. I decided to give her another chance... but then when I turned up for our appointment, she no-showed on me. While I appreciate mistakes can be made, it's really ridiculous that I wasn't notified that she wouldn't be there. I arranged my whole day around it, and also turned down an invitation to a baseball game because I had that appointment. I am very disappointed about the lack of professionalism and will not be returning to this groomer. read more

Just had our first visit to Dogomat today for a groom and nail trim. Grace was nothing short of AMAZING with my anxious foster dog and they were kind enough to make special arrangements for our dog which made his visit tolerable. I am SO grateful for the aptly named Grace and Dogomat's accommodations and skillful grooming. Our dog looks terrific and more importantly I know he was handled with love and care. read more

I love this place! We have been coming here for years. Friendly and efficient staff.

Under new management, this place is now terrific! Shampoo is plentiful, the tubs are conveniently waist high, and new remodeling by the new owners is bright and modern. Clean and efficient feel to the place. The nozzles are adjustable so you can use whatever flow is best. Towels are plentiful and good cotton quality so they are absorbent, shampoo and conditioner plentiful as well, along with brushes for the tubs. Convenient blow drying available (although I didn't use it on this hot summer day). The proprietors are friendly and nice, and dog treats are courtesy for after the bath so they're happy to come back. checkout was fast and easy. With three dogs, we do a lot of washing, and this place is our new first choice. Easy in easy out with parking only a few steps away from the tubs, you don't have to drag your pups past aisles of temptations! read more

I just moved back to the area and needed a groomer for my husky/German shepherd mix. Grace took wonderful care of him. I don't think he's ever been so clean and shiny before! We'll definitely be back. read more

Solid 5 star business. Brought my ADHD terrier in for a long overdue groom and wash and was extremely satisfied with the results. I was looking forward to coming in as they don't use dryer crates that most dog groomers use and it's comforting that I could stay with the little guy the entire time. Caroline took the time to listen to what I wanted and went to work. She was quick, yet careful and my dog looks (and smells) great. Reasonable cost, friendly employees with work done very professionally. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. I brought my dog in and they said they might have to cut her short but would keep it as long as possible. Well, they shaved her. And then shaved parts of her face, but not the whole thing. And shaved her ears which I've never even heard of? She had hair hanging over her eyes and mouth, both of which were still dirty and uneven. Anyway, I called them saying I was very unhappy with the cut, and they said they couldn't do her face because she squirmed. Nobody called me about it, and when I got there to pick her up they simply charged me the $45 and said nothing. They offered to reschedule me but I ended up just fixing it as best I could myself, for fear of them taking more fur off. See before and after photos. read more

Don't ever take your dog here! We went there today and have had an appointment for months. They overbooked which the owner even admitted upon us getting there. They had no idea what dogs were coming in or any history they've had with them. The first time we took our dog there they did an amazing job and we're patient and kind with her as she is a rescue and still a puppy. This time they took no consideration. After the very young worker was done bathing the dog (which she needed help with). An older women with short hair (I assume the owner) came over and wanted to put her on a large table next to a dog who was barking and crying. She trimmed three nails and without asking went to brush our dog. Our dog put her mouth on her, no teeth, and the lady continued to try and brush her so our dog growled. The lady threw the brush and got upset and stopped anymore services, but we still had to pay $45 for a half ass bath and three nails clipped. We will never be taking our dog back. It is way too over stimulating and unorganized. Very disappointed with their service. read more

What a great time. This facility does both grooming for you, or you can use their equipment. Even better we got a just ask and get a sanitary for my fluffy Australian shepherd. I also got much needed advice on how to keep my Puppy safe and comfortable for his first visits to a grooming facility. The owner is kind and courteous, I just love this place read more

A quick story about how great the people who own and run this place are: Sometime this past winter, my girlfriend and I went in here to wash our 4-year old Chow mix, and our very young, puppy Shepherd-mutt. Washing two dogs is hectic, and washing a spastic puppy who's never been washed before doesn't add to the fun. In the midst of the chaos of fur and emotion, I set my watch aside by one of the tubs. The watch is a multifunction Casio Sport that I had bought less than a year earlier: not a Rolex, but certainly not cheap either. Long story short, by the time we were done I was just happy to get the heck out of there, and left it behind. My girlfriend and I were friendly with the owner, Beth, but had never provided her with any contact info during any of our transactions. So when she found the watch, she had no way to let me know (although most places would hardly worry about that). Time passed, I checked my gym, my pockets, and my bags: no dice. It completely slipped my mind that the Dog-O-Mat could've been where I'd left it. It didn't slip Beth's. When we returned for the dogs' Springtime wash a couple weeks ago (albeit a few months late), Beth was ECSTATIC to be able to return the watch to me! Although most businesses would have forgotten about the neglected property with a span of days, the most impressive thing to me was not just that she did return it, but was how much it pleased her to be able to do so: to be able to help me out. Perhaps I'm dramatizing here, but this joy in service - which is sorely lacking from so many businesses these days - is a fantastic testament to Dog-O-Mat 2, and it bleeds through all that they do. Washing and grooming our canine friends is a tough task: between the flying fur, the squealing, the wrestling to escape, and the scratching (& that's just the owners), it's enough to leave me incapacitated for a few hours afterward. Dog-O-Mat 2 helps you do it - or does it for you - with a SMILE. I highly recommend. read more

My big mutt was dirty. So I took her here. $20 later, her hair was clogging up someone else's drain, and the water she shook when she wouldn't let me blow dry her is on someone else's walls. Worth every penny. read more

We took our baby GoldenDoodle in and requested a slight summer trim, due to him being a baby we didn't want to take off too much. Once we picked him up he was still damp, and they only cut the front of his face and his face is totally uneven with the rest of his body. Not even his paws, legs, stomach, or back look like it has been look like it has been trimmed. We are very disappointed and it was not worth $45 in ANY way. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Since finding Dog-O-Mat 2 on Jackson, this has been my go-to place to wash my large monsters. At our last visit, we asked the owner to attempt to clip our dogs' nails. This is a HUGE chore. They hate it. She was very patient, and understanding. With my husband holding the she-monster, she was able to get one dog done. The other is a lost cause but I surely appreciated the attempt. Great place. We will surely be back for baths though :) read more

I am SO glad I found this place! We moved here from out of town and I was having a difficult time finding a good place to groom our large pup. Instead of paying an asinine amount to have her professional groomed someplace else, I do the majority of it myself here! Honestly worst dog washing facility I've ever been to. I walked in and there's no prices. The owners dogs were laying on the floor growling at my dog the whole time we waited. Once a tub became available my Great Dane had some trouble trying to get up the rickety wooden stairs to the tub. The worst part is they have a metal pole with noose that you secure your dog in that hangs from above. The workers were complaining that they have to work and I passed on using the shop vac to blow dry my dog. I paid and left to never return again. shame cause I love to support local businesses. read more

I've been going here off and on for a few years now. I typically take my dog there and use the self serve grooming. Very reasonably priced. I also board Dog's and have a client who was in desperate need of a nail clipping. Beth got him in and my dog for a nail clipping. Quick, easy, and very reasonably priced. A couple months later the same client came back and this time he stunk! So much so neither my husband nor I could stand the smell. I didn't have time to self groom and Beth got him in right away and did an amazing job. She even scrubbed his collar because that too smelled pretty bad. Got him back and we were able to cuddle with him without plugging our noses. The place is a dog grooming shop. It's not nicest looking place with fancy seating and stuff but it's a dog grooming place and self serve. I've never encountered Dog's running loose and have never had an issue getting a tub when arriving. Beth has always been super friendly and has been excellent with my dog and my client. read more

This is in response to Johanna N. from 11/25/2018. $$$$$ Great service (you probably came in late in the day on 11/25/2018, a Sunday, and saw employees stumbling [not wandering] around in the back from exhaustion because we ran such an amazingly popular, lucrative and streamlined business that day). My business has a simple, direct, functional equation, DIRT=$$ Prices are always posted in the window and at the front desk. $$$$$ Dog-O-Mat continues to be an excellent place for a quick bath and also for some really nice grooms. This is a groom shop, dog hair and muddy paws are where it's at. I would like to truly thank you, Johanna N., for allowing me this opportunity to publicly share our business model. I have never been happier! My dog is super nervous and freaked out at another groomer. So, we brought him here because we can wash him ourselves! Such a great spot! WHat is not to love about this place?! We walked in with 2 stinky, hairy dogs with long nails. This is our go-to place! read more

The girl stunk and was in bad need of a bath. Dog-o-mat is close to home and promised to be less $$$ than a groomer-we took her in with no appointment and washed, conditioned and dried her as well as got her nails cut in 30 minutes and for just $24. Awesome elevated tub for her and aprons for us kept mess to a minimum - and two "house dogs" that were among the gentlest dogs I've seen. Our dog, who has been known to be fairly dog selective didn't bat an eye. We are sold and will be regulars! Yay for dog-o-mat! read more

What's not to like about the Dog-o-mat? Anyone who has ever attempted to give a dog a bath in the tub at home knows what torture it can be. Huntched over the tub, splashing water, no way to keep the dog in the tub, then water everywhere, the dog escapes from the towel and runs thru the house shaking doggie scented water onto furniture, walls, and cupboards. go to the Dog o Matt. Tubs are elevated, lines to secure your pooch, hoses, and nice aprons to keep you 'drier'. It's a deal. read more

We went here for the first time yesterday, and I was nervous because my pup can get a little crazy when she's in new places. The few dogs that were just hanging out there were super friendly, and my dog calmed down right away. We were given a quick walk through (it seems like all of the shampoos are made in-house, which is awesome) and we got to work. 20 minutes later we had a clean, dry, happy dog, and for a VERY reasonable price. Usually I have to bathe my dog bent over our tub, so it saved me a lot of back pain too. We'll definitely be regulars here from now on. read more

Our big coonhound-shepherd got a wonderful bath, and we were very happy - until we noticed he was leaving bloody paw prints everywhere. Turns out his back right toenail had been cut way too short, but more than that, the skin on two of his pads on that foot had also been scraped off. We've applied styptic powder to the toenail and neosporin to the pads, and he is bleeding less today after he comes in out of the snow when he goes out, thank goodness. We understand that accidents can happen, but we really don't understand why no one told us this had happened; he must have been bleeding there, too. read more

The A2 Dog-O-Mat(s) have been essential, absolutely indispensable, to our dog-owning well-being. If you own a dog larger than sink size, and if you've been trying to make do with a bathtub or outdoors, these waist-level tubs with temp-controlled spray nozzles are something you must switch to. No question. Also, if you clip your own dog's nails and your dog gets wary when she sees you with the clippers in hand, you will improve her peace of mind if you transfer the stressful association to a third party, namely the skilled people who work here. You holding your dog and keeping her distracted while somebody else does the clipping is far better than anything else, including how vet offices do it (separating you from your dog). Just my experience. And if your dog needs clipping, the Dog-O-Mat keeps their electric clippers sharp. Far cheaper than a groomer, though probably not as perfect-looking afterwards. Hint for clipping a thick-haired dog like a standard poodle: a bath one day, clipping the next day - the clipping gets much easier when the dust is out of the fur. read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! My favorite place to bring my dog (and my dog's favorite place to go). Self serve grooming with everything you could want or need. Helpful with tips on grooming. They have nail clippers if you want to clip your dogs nails but they can also trim them and it is only $10. Can also book a professional groom as well. They do have their dogs loose but I can let them know if my dog isn't friendly and they have been good about putting the dogs behind the counter or in a back room. I have seen some reviews that say the place is "filthy" but I have to disagree. I have come in when it has been packed and yes, there is hair flying and dirt from people's shoes mixing with the water from the tubs, but I have seen the staff cleaning and trying to keep up. It is a dog grooming facility so when it is busy and dogs are being groomed it seems to be expected that is may get a little messy. I have also been in when it is slow and the place is spotless. They have prices posted by the counter. They also are happy to take time with more nervous dogs. Always a 5 star recommendation from me! read more

Great spot! I brought my newly rescued Irish Wolfhound in before Thanksgiving. He was all matted and pretty stinky. I couldn't get him an appointment fast enough anywhere else. I was so happy to find this self-service dog-mat since moving to A2 because there was an amazing dog-mat in my former city. I visited Dog-O-Mat on a Sunday, and there were four dogs waiting in front of me. All five bath tubs in the back were being used. The waiting room was dirty, filled with stuff, and had minimal seats. I was lucky enough to grab a seat in the waiting room (not everyone there had a seat), and I waited for about 5 minutes before someone came to greet me and let me know when a tub would be available. When it was finally my turn to take my pup into the tub area, the the lady helped me get my dog into the tub. She explained the process although I had to ask for an apron (you would think that would be a given). Afterwards, I was able to pay rather quickly. The bathing area was bland and nothing special. The workers didn't interact with my dog, although they asked me about him. Overall, it did the job, but it wasn't anything special. read more

I've taken my dog here for self washes, and always had a good experience. They provide everything you need, and at a very reasonable price. Much better than risking scratching your bathtub and having them drench your bathroom in water! This time, however, I took my puppy in for a 'full-service' wash, where they wash, dry, and clip your dogs nails. She came back looking and smelling wonderful, but I was told she got into a 'disagreement' with a male dog. She is a rescue, still quite a puppy at only a year old, and the shelter she was in kept multiple dogs per cage so she is not always friendly towards other dogs. I informed the staff of this twice, and still all the dogs that are awaiting their owners are kept in the salon roaming free. She and the other dog weren't hurt, but I was 'reprimanded' to better train my dog. She is very sweet to people and most other animals, but sometimes one of them doesn't strike her fancy. Overview: Pretty accommodating and very affordable. read more
