Both were broken. After the work was complete there was $600 more charge than agreed (i presume this was electrical work because no itemized bill was provided). The unit is only 14.5 seer. Perhaps these verbal agreements were forgotten and not intentional deception, but this is still unprofessional if so. Work was not up to city of Grand Rapids standards (or even the installation manual for the unit), it took 4.5 months of phone calls to them and the city to get them to fix the mistakes. I had to look up the electricians they subcontracted myself as ACR never even made an effort to update them. Eventually, through much stress on my part, everything worked out. Unit works fine, and did from day 1 of install, probably an ok business to work with outside of the city. So 3 stars despite everything. If you live somewhere without municipal codes, permits, and inspections they do ok work for what is probably a reasonable price. Just follow some advice: 1. Insist on a written contract with all promises and costs up front. 2. If you have any inspections necessary make sure the contract specifies they do not get the full payment for the work until the inspections pass.

Plastic was to be layed in the basement where they were working and ended up tracking oil all over the floor. Some kind of grease or oil was spilled in the driveway. I contacted them two days after the work. It took a while for them to get back with me. The dispatch team was too busy or they would set up an appt, not show, and sometimes reschedule. I had to keep calling and making a longer story short they finally came out two months later. They cleaned the spots with cleaner that didn't work so I bought something to try myself. I worked at it and got about half the stain off but still bad. The stain was baked in by the sun by this time. It was on them to clean. I'm 73 female and this is ridiculous. Their customer service has a lot of room for improvement!

After he left, a leak sprung in our basement, which we figured out only happens when that same sink is used. We had to shop vac and clean the basement and I called the next morning. They said they would send someone out. I was super calm about it, totally trusting they would make it right. They sent the SAME tech out. So of course he starts saying its not his fault and there is nothing he can do. I call the business and they say they can have their manager call me in ONE TO TWO BUSINESS DAYS. I tell them that is unacceptable, I need a supervisor out here tomorrow. They say they can send someone out but it'll be an entirely new charge. Stay away from the business. Unfortunately, Whitney plumbing nor Trout plumbing could not find my sewer line after digging up my yard. Then on February 23, 2024, a friend of mine referred me to Tim Roger's Plumbing, who is located in Allegan, Michigan. Which is approximately two hour travel time round trip from my location.
