I had a question for my artist whom I texted a week before my wedding (end of March) to ask, only to find out that she no longer worked for the company and left mid-February. Neither my planner or I were informed of this, or were re-booked a trial with a new artist, which I found completely unacceptable. After calling this out, Makiaj booked me a re-trial on the Thursday before my wedding. This caused me a TON of stress on my wedding week, which could have been easily avoided. Trials are meant to be used to make changes, which if this was done on my wedding day, would have caused delays in the wedding day schedule. My new artist said she had my on her schedule mid-February, but Makiaj just didn't schedule a re-trial for me. After multiple calls with no answer, I received a text just 30 minutes before my appointment. The message was addressed to the wrong person and stated that my appointment had been canceled. At first, I genuinely thought it was a scam. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Because of the extremely short notice and lack of communication, I was forced to scramble at the last minute. Despite planning meticulously, I arrived late to my graduation and nearly missed the opportunity to walk across the stage. I was only notified of the cancellation because I called to confirm; there was no proactive outreach from the company. Very little professionalism, accountability, or genuine remorse was shown. The stress and disappointment caused on such an important day were completely avoidable. I can only imagine how devastating this would be if it were for an event such as a wedding.
