3.5/5 I've been here…read moretwice and have had one subpar experience and one excellent experience. Average it out and I give it 3.5/5. The first time I came here service was poor. It took almost 30 minutes for my friend and I to be served at the bar. The first time I was here I had the roundhouse mac n cheese. It was good though nothing special, but the poor service definitely cancelled out what was decent food. The second time I came here on a work dinner, where we somehow stuffed almost 20 people on a long table. Service was a lot better, though maybe it was because I was with a large group. I went during poutine week, so I had the Taco Mac n Cheese Poutine. The mac n cheese was actually mac n cheese bites, which was ehh...but I liked the concept! Cheese curds are good, size was generous, and the nacho beef was cooked well and juicy. So to cancel both visits out, I'll leave is as 3.5/5 for now. If I get good service next visit I'll be happy to bump this up to a 4.

My first time I had heard about Famous Dave's occurred when I moved to Rochester, MN years ago. I…read morewas settling in my new apartment and ordered delivery from Famous Dave's. The catfish and ribs were incredible! I also loved the cob of corn and cornbread. To get my fix required heading back to Minnesota or to another state that had Famous Dave's. To my delight, when I visited Winnipeg, another city that I once called home, I was beaming from ear to ear that Famous Dave's had made it over the border! I visited this Famous Dave's on my birthday last July. It is close to the the Canadian Revenue Agency and Olive Garden. I was planning on going to the latter, but got excited seeing Famous Dave's and changed my plans. The interior looks exactly what the ones in the States look like. You have the various barbeque sauces and paper towels on the table. I was greeted by an energetic employee who seated me at one of the booths. The server was extremely nice and friendly. She told me what the free wifi password was (it relates to swine, which makes sense at such a joint). I ordered the two-meat combo, and chose the beer-battered cod and Texas beef brisket. It came with cornbread, and I chose sweet corn and Wilbur beans as sides. The cod was good. It was filling and had the right flakiness. The Texas beef brisket was wonderful. Yum! I am drooling just thinking about it. I love cornbread. If I had to eat it every day, I could, without any complaints. It's just heaven. The sweet corn was amazing and the Wilbur beans tasted just like the ones I had stateside. You'd think that ordering so much food was enough. Nope, it was my birthday and I wanted dessert, no matter how much that would kill me! I ordered the bread pudding with toasted pecans in an amazing sauce with vanilla ice cream. So good! Even if I didn't have any room in my stomach, I would have ordered this dessert for the road, perhaps eating the ice cream at the restaurant to avoid a melted mess. The server indicated that if I filled out the survey on my receipt that I would get dessert for free the next time I am there. In other words, you could get dessert for free every time you visit Famous Dave's from this point forward. I don't see anything wrong with this procedure! Afterwards, I felt like I was in a food coma, but who cares! I was so happy. I can't wait to return here for some great food. (65)

Not sure if they've stepped things up recently or if I just came on a good day, but I left completely satisfied. Based on my visit, Famous Dave's absolutely deserves 5 stars. The food served at this location, in my opinion, is just as good as the locations in the U.S., if not slightly better.

This past burger week Nuburger catered a Taylor Swift theme to all their burgers. For this location they had the Anti-Hero burger, which consisted of baconnaise, bacon, curry chips, cheddar, and a grilled pineapple. As usual, the standard for Nuburger's quality continues with this burger. A generous slice of cheddar, bacon, and the curry chips provided a nice crispy touch. The pineapple slice was a nice touch to complement the saltiness of the bacon and chips. No complaints at all. The fries that came with the burger were not seasoned at all. Some folks might like that, I usually do like a little bit of salt/seasoning though. Something of note for next time. Good location for those in the north/east/Transcona area.

I walked over to the manager who was at the hostess desk with two other females. He told me they were trying to figure out seating arrangements and he would be with me shortly. Meanwhile the family who was waiting were taken in and seated. We waited for a few more minutes and were then seated up on the top corner. We noticed that there were several empty tables as well. Our waitress arrived shortly and took our drink order, providing us with menus. She returned with coffee and then took our order. My GF ordered an omelette while I order chicken and waffles. Nothing too complicated. As we sat drinking our coffee, the waitress returned ten minutes later asking my GF what she ordered again as she didn't understand where my GF ordered her meal from. My GF pointed out that is was under build your own omelette. The waitress said okay and walked away. We noticed that several wait staff walked by constantly carrying food, only to walk past again in the opposite direction looking confused carrying the same food in hand. We never saw our waitress again and no one checked in on us. Several other guests were seated after us and were served their meal some consisting of steak. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our meals. Frustrated we walked out and went to Salisbury house where we received excellent service. I will never return to Applebees IHOP restaurants again nor would I recommend this business to anyone. Terrible service, inexperienced and confused staff including the manager.

There is generally a long wait if you don't come here within the first hour of opening, so do take care in getting here early if you want to minimize wait times. We ended up waiting 40 minutes-ish, which was fine with me. We did finally get seated, and since we spent the whole morning looking at the menu. We ordered the fried potatoes together. He got the fried chicken on toast for his main, and I got the lamb breakfast sandwich. I thought the food was only ok. The fried potatoes were decent. The cook on the potato was not really what I expected, as I thought the potatoes would be crispier. The sauce really saves this dish. I had a bite of the fried chicken on toast and it was pretty good. The chicken was well cooked and nicely seasoned. I also thought my lamb burger was just ok. The meat was pretty good but I wasn't a fan of the bun as it was a little dry. We did also order drinks. My boyfriend ordered matcha. He said it was ok and wished it was a little stronger. I had a caramel latte and thought it was good. Overall, this is a decent place to get brunch. I think if I were to come back, I would maybe try different menu items. The prices were good and the overall ambience is great.
