I've been earring out for 60+ years and write favorable reviews often. This location has one of the least friendly management teams I have ever experienced. Short and dismissive. The waitstaff makes up for rude management that needs remedial training. When I asked a former server what was up with "Sunshine" THE manager she just laughed out loud and shrugged. I'm hesitant to effect anyone's job but my experience has been over a year now and if your manager sees fit to show unimproved personality disorder I figure it's about time she gets credit. read more

Sorry this is a bit long, but I want to explain. In the late 80s and 90s, Perkins was my favorite spot in Ohio. Then in the 2000s, things started to get worse--menu items disappeared, food quality dropped, and service wasn't what it used to be. I still found a couple of locations that were okay, but overall, it wasn't the same. I could list all my complaints about menu changes, but the main point is, when I visited two years ago, I couldn't even find a Perkins near Cincinnati. Today, my friend and I tried this location again for lunch, hoping it had improved. We arrived after the lunch rush. The manager seated us and said our waitress would be with us soon. There were a few other tables and a big group nearby. We waited about 20-25 minutes before our waitress took our order and promised drinks were coming. She seemed swamped, handling almost everything by herself while the manager and another staff member just seated people and disappeared. No one helped her out. We waited another 30 minutes with no drinks or silverware, and finally gave up. I wanted to tell the waitress it wasn't her fault, but she was busy in the kitchen, and I couldn't find the manager. We asked another couple to let her know, then left. Within 15 minutes at the place next door, we were already eating. I can't comment on the food or coffee because we never got any. The management here really needs to do better. read more

The rudest most miserable staff I've ever encountered. We weren't even greeted, the miserable-looking, old woman with a long, thick dirty-looking ponytail just grabbed menus & walked across the room away from us. We guessed we were to follow. She put down the menus & walked away. She never spoke or smiled, no eye contact, no nothing. She was even grouchier when we checked out. The tables are scratched, old & worn out; the carpet is old & worn out; the staff is old, worn out & grouchy or senile. The coupons which are the ONLY reason we ever go there have been discontinued with no considerate email to tell potential customers what's going on. It's my birthday, no free pie during your birthday month anymore? Just close the place already & let a decent restaurant with clean, nice, intelligent management take over this location. I am fed up with Perkins charging as much as nice, clean, updated places with pleasant staff when it's obvious that Perkins simply does not care. The BLT was sloppy & the toast was dry. It did not look or taste appetizing. I couldn't eat it after 1 bite. The hash browns were good but got very little. The fork I got in my wrapped up napkin smelled like eggs. I had to switch it. My adult daughter had to eat her hash browns with a butter knife cause I took hers. Servers were nice and Pancakes were good, but how does a breakfast restaurant chain serve undersized, undercooked eggs? Ordered over medium eggs that came out with runny whites. And they were tiny, clearly NOT even large. Next gripe, smallest serving of hash browns ever. And they were tasty, making the minuscule serving even worse. Dummy me,I could have written this same review the last 4 times I went here. But I kept trying because the location is convenient for me. Bottom line, 2 little sausage links, the inadequate eggs, small hash browns with side of pancakes, coffee for $18.50 (plus tip). Ridiculous. And in a booth with a top to bottom split in the seat. Their are good and bad news the food was good but the lines there are very long like outside of the restaurant long I can't believe this. But first the workers there were really nice but don't go if you like elders there are a lot of elders but it's Leesburg so you should expect that. But I don't know what but it smelt like cookies cake and other desserts As it was good it was also bad but I went like a couple of months ago so the line thing might not happen so it's good. The food is always excellent. It's the wait time to be served and then for the food to come out is ridiculous. Even worse tonight after waiting a half hour or more for our food and seeing others that ordered after we did, eating, I flagged a waitress down our waitress never came over to check out drinks or see how we were doing. If she would have, she would have seen we didn't have our food. Our order was entered into the computer. Someone messed up and waitress never apologized. We got takeout and these were the best buttermilk pancakes I've had in the area. So tender and moist--the way it should be. Hubby and I had blueberry pancakes. Eggs and sausage were pretty standard. The five stars is for the pancakes! This will be my go-to place when the buttermilk cravings hit. read more

We went to Perkins for their burger and pie deal, $9.99 for a big juicy burger with fries and a slice of delicious pie, you can't beat that! Perkins is an accommodating family restaurant. All of their burgers are cooked to medium doneness. I ordered the breakfast burger, the meat was juicy and delicious, the egg was cooked perfectly to over easy, the combination of flavors was perfection. My wife ordered the So So Gouda burger and she loved it! The fries were crispy as you bit into them and had a soft texture inside, they were very good. We shared a plate of onion rings and they were great, very crunchy exterior with a huge whole onion inside. We ended up taking the seasonal strawberry pie "to go" as we were stuffed to the gills. The server was funny and attentive, good service. It was our first time visiting Perkins and we'll definitely be back. Every day of the week they have incentives, sign up for their eClub and never miss a deal. read more

What stood out most on this particular visit to Perkin's was my server, Melissa. What a sweetheart. I ordered the Cod and Shrimp dinner. It was okay, nothing to write home about. I rank this place as a slightly fancier iHop or Denny's. I'm composing this critique while waiting for my dessert. My score will most likely be a reflection of my encounter with it. What a disappointing meal. I ordered eggs over medium with crispy hash brown potatoes sausage and blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were good. The eggs were runny whites and lukewarm. The hash browns were undercooked as well as the link sausage. Breakfast is one of the easiest meals to prepare. I was surprised how this plate made it out of the kitchen. It did not even look appetizing. Ironically- the plate was very hot but not the food. It was as though the food sat for a time before being plated. I walked the plate to our server and advised I did not want the food. She took the plate apologized and that was that. She did adjust the bill. Gabby - the server was sufficient and did everything correctly. I wasn't sure if she alerted the manager so I went to the manager to relay the issues. I told her Gabby had dealt with the problem and did a good job but if I were managing a restaurant I would want to be involved as well. Her reply was Yep Gabby told me. She cut me off not wanting to hear about it. She asked hurriedly if there was something else I needed to resolve the issue. I just stopped talking and said no. She was clear in that she didn't want to hear me. She did take the bill to zero. I appreciate md that but that was not what I was upset about. My husband asked for water to get her attention and he found her very kurt when delivered. When leaving she made a point saying have a good evening mam ignoring him entirely. Very few people in there. The food arrived in good time, and tasted good, but the air stuck of rotten mop water. I ordered a honey garlic chicken strip salad. The menu said that it contained red bell peppers, sweet onion, and "garden fresh greens". It did not contain "garden fresh greens". It had a bunch of mostly-white ice-burg lettuce, and no "garden fresh greens" I am so tired of restaurants falsely claiming to have "garden fresh greens" in their salads. The restaurant smells like the carpet needs some serious replacing. Tables have dirty dishes on them for a half hour. We did not see our server for 20 minutes. I hear manager in back complaining to the cooks about lack of effort. Food came out and it was fine. The main issu was the salmon was overcooked. When you cook it hard enough that the white proteins start to leach out, it got hammered. Just take it off a couple minutes prior, no biggie. Rest of our food was great. read more

On 6/14/2023 we went to the Perkins on 27 in Leesburg for breakfast. Our server was Melissa. Melissa was extremely attentive and pleasant to our requests to add or make changes to our orders. The sun was reflecting off cars and into our eyes and she promptly got the shades pulled. It's so pleasant to be able to ask for something and get a response "of course" and it's done immediately. Melissa just made our meal that more relaxed and enjoyable. She certainly is a valuable employee and I felt she needed the recognition. We wi request her tables the next time we visit. Didn't realize this is the same as the former Perkins Pancake House ! Had a delicious Southwest Chicken Salad with blackened chicken, plentiful avocado (not skimpy at all!), corn, beans and other veggies with a Chipotle ranch dressing. Recommend getting the dressing on the side so that you can add as much as you want. Friendly service but at 8:30 pm on a Friday we waited quite a long time for our additional take out order since we were told there was only ONE cook working! read more

After giving them at least a half dozen tries, we've given up on this Perkins location (which is a shame since Perkins has THE best pancakes). They're very short staffed, which is possibly not their fault but still directly affects the customer. The wait for a table is often very long, even with many tables open, but unbussed. They're often out of numerous food items and the servers don't keep up with what they're out of, sometimes waiting until the other person's food is ready to let you know one person's food isn't available. Good luck with getting timely drink refills. The manager does a good job of trying to fill in and get things fixed, but the meal experience there continues to be frustrating rather than pleasant. Hope they'll be able to turn it around someday, but right now (and for at least for the past six months that we've been in the area) it's terrible. read more
