Ok so I seen the reviews of this place and I was skeptical. This is literally one out of two gas…read morestations I seen in this neighborhood and seems to be the only area to stop at before getting to Big Bear or Yucca Valley the back way through Apple Valley. The town appears to be a very quiet place at night with not much going on. A few main roads and a bunch of hills. In fact I heard they filmed The Hills Have Eyes around this area, But you know me. I ain't SKURED! So I was stopping! The fact that I was needing the restroom and prairie dogging my intestinal waste since Apple Valley had nothing to do with it! So I went in and asked the guy if I can use the restroom clinching the cheeks hoping I didn't drop anything before I get through the throne. He said yes and I was gone! I had no time to see the reviews or to see how clean the facilities are. All I knew is if he had said no my pants would have been as bad as what other reviewers claimed the bathroom to be. I will say it was dated but it was clean. At least before I used it it was! Lol. Just kidding. The butt gaskets for the Toilet seats were provided, there was toilet paper and spray. I was in a good place. You know what made it better? The restroom ceiling fan, water running, restroom distance from the register and my singing the Hook from Naughty by Nature's "Everything is gonna be alright " literally saved me lots of embarrassment. I didn't have to wait till closing to come out! Washed my hands, emptied the bottle of spray and walked out trying not to make eye contact with people who might of known how long I was in there. Went to the cooler grabbed a cucumber flavored Gatorade to hydrate after putting in work! Grabbed some beef jerky and went to pay. I had to buy something right? Lol Now like I said before the place is in the middle of the desert with not to many places till you get to Big Bear or Yucca. It's an independent Valero and not corporate. So I can see why it's not modernized like the corporate stores. They have cold sandwiches, plenty of beverages, many hot coffee/cappuccino options and the owner "George" is a cool dude. Let's face it, he could have charged me rent or for the pack of toilet paper! He didn't. Lol Only two gas stations in the area and there was no price gouging. They could have charged more than the ones in the bigger cities since they are far away and in the middle of nowhere but don't. I even noticed they refill propane there. If you're ever in the area stop by and support this place. Especially if you're on your way to Yucca. Fill up before you enter the void in between the two towns.
