A go-to spot for lunch or dinner in the Sunset. Usually not super busy and can get a seat. For the price, portions are heaping and food is delicious. My favorites are the charbroiled pork with garlic noodles, but the five-spice chicken is also excellent. Overall: 4.6/5

Oh my gosh..... One of the best affordable, generously portioned Asian garlic noodle places right on Irving street! Don't sleep on this Vietnamese cozy restaurant! (Honestly sleep on their pho though, you go here just for their vermicelli bowls or garlic noodles!) I'm glad I gave Perilla a second chance after the letdown Pho experience, the staff here was just as welcoming as my first experience! They're all so lovely kind and will answer any questions you may have. Here's what I got for the second time around: Charbroiled bbq pork garlic noodles Comes with a side of imperial rolls for the ultimate crunch, paired with the sweetness of the pork, umami garlic buttery goodness from the noodles all mesh together so well! Very very filling portion for two for sure :)

First time at Perilla and liked the meal. I got the veggie pho and I liked the light broth with fresh ingredients. The grilled pork plate with imperial rolls and garlic noodles was pretty good. The garlic noodles were tasty and enjoyed the crispy imperial rolls. Prices are pretty reasonable for all dishes. Very friendly and nice service. They're welcoming to all customers.

Good under the radar Vietnamese place in the sunset for a great price! We were by the beach and decided to come by for a quick dinner. They're super known for their garlic noodle so obviously had to get their with imperial roll and marinated pork. It was delicious and order came really quick. The portion was also huge! Would come back to try their pho.

I'm glad I discovered this neighborhood gem! The service was top notch. The man taking orders was super attentive and took my order and served tea right away, I was impressed. The garlic noodles are a must try! I ordered them with five spice chicken. I can tell they have perfected their menu, the meal was great. This is the spot for good Vietnamese food! I would def come back to try another dish, maybe some pho

This chicken plate was a top meal for me the entire week I was in SF. It was so juicy and perfectly cooked. That is all.

Quick and friendly service! We were served shortly after ordering and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu! I got the beef & imperial roll w garlic noodles and the noodles were delicious! The beef was also super tender and flavorful. I loved how crispy the imperial rolls were too. It's a huge portion of noodles and not that much beef though. But that was fine w me since I love carbs! They had plenty of space inside when we came in for an early dinner on a Sunday. Would recommend for a casual dinner in the area!

My second visit here and still love their food and service. There were only two of us this time and we ordered one bowl of 5 spice chicken pho and an order of Imperial rolls. The servings were generous and we had more than enough to eat with leftovers for another meal. The pho came with a side of basil, bean sprouts, and lemon although they're not pictured. They automatically brought us two empty bowls and a couple of plates for us to share. Service was friendly, efficient, and attentive. Our tea cups were refilled several times. Definitely will be back!

Wow, the food was amazing and staff were really attentive. Nice spot in SF after a day in a museum. We were very hungry. We all decided on the chicken with garlic noodles. Plus we ordered the spring rolls. The spring roll sauce was the bomb. Everything was actually delightful the atmosphere was cozy and warm.

Second time here! Food was at a decent price. I got the five spice chicken and garlic noodles. It comes with a side of fish sauce and a piece of broccoli. The chicken didn't have much flavor but it was still really good and the skin was crispy. I realllyyy liked the garlic noodles here and maybe ill just get a huge bowl of that next time. I think my plate was 15 dollars which isnt bad for the amount you get. The staff were really friendly and food came quick. I came on a sunday at 2pm and it was hard to find parking but the place wasnt too packed and plenty of table. This place is cute and i really like this resturant.

To escape the heat of South Bay we drove up to SF for the day. We originally wanted to hit up an uber popular place down the street but saw the hideously long line. We walked by here and looked up the reviews. Unfortunately for us, we got here right when the first batch of lunchers started eating. Smallish restaurant. Paper waitlist. We waited about 15-20 mins. High chairs offered, plastic bowl with utensils provided for the kiddo. Many different variations with different combos. I ordered the rice plate as I wasn't sure if the Kiddo would like the strong garlic noodles. I was right - the garlic noodles were too strong for her. Sizes are decent. if you are a hungry person I would order something extra. We felt the noodles were Luke- warm and the rice was slightly undercooked. Imperial rolls were the star. We also ordered a small bowl of broth for the kid. She liked it but it was so salty. One bathroom in the back - It is basically in their kitchen. Plenty of street parking.

We came here after a 3 hour walk in Golden Gate Park. My daughter ordered the Pho brisket while I had the garlic noodles with grilled pork. The garlic noodles were very tasty. It's decently priced and a great portion. We came after lunch hours and it was still pretty hard to find parking around the neighborhood but the place wasn't busy at all and service was very quick too.

Food: We got the garlic noodles beef, and garlic noodles pork. The noodles are thick, dry in a good way (like sometimes they can be too oily). The flavor was flavorful and garlicky, but actually didn't leave that horrible garlic taste in your mouth later. I saw someone's pork chop, and it looked huge! Size of a plate. I would like to try that next time. Service: Solid, got free hot tea and water as soon as we sat down. They kept refilling. Food came very quickly!

I highly recommend trying this dish if you haven't done so! 3/5 - Pho with chicken. The chicken was lackluster in this dish, mainly due to its dryness. The broth alone still tasted very good in terms of savoryness and seasoning. This older man walks around very ambitious with his little credit card terminal ready to charge anyone who is anyone. He gives no receipt. He is the owner and the waiter. But he does not give any service and just expects tip. All he does is walk around and collect money & does the very minimum. I've given this place multiple chances over the years, but unfortunately each experience has been uncomfortable in one way or another. The first time was around 2022. My family and I arrived about 30 minutes before closing, and the owner told us he would still serve us. After seating us, though, he immediately pressured us to order quickly and told us we had to eat fast because they were closing. I was with my elderly relatives too so just turn us away? If that was the case, it would've been better to simply not seat us. Don't be greedy just bc you want a few bucks. Another time, my husband called to order Hanoi-style pho to go, and the owner responded with unnecessary attitude, saying that's the only kind they serve. LOL, ok. The interaction felt rude for no reason. Most recently, we came on Mother's Day. The dishwasher/staff member was also unfriendly. The bun cha was decent according to my mom, and my husband said the beef stew noodle dish was okay, but my pho lacked flavor entirely. I wasn't expecting it to compare to pho in Vietnam or even San Jose, but it tasted very bland so I didn't finish it. The service from the owner continues to be the biggest issue. When we paid, he stood over us while I counted cash, so I felt pressure to count fast and add tip quickly. He left then came back a few seconds later then quickly grabbed the money without even asking whether I needed change and disappeared faster than the wind. The whole interaction felt awkward and pushy. He has a very strange personality. After several experiences like this, we won't be returning.
