Hi! Here is a compliment for your Service Manager. The battery went dead in my 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback. Not unexpected - the car is going on 7 years old. I was going to change the battery myself; I had done it dozens of times on other cars I've owned. But the battery in my Toyota has an electrical box on top and to remove the battery, I would have to remove that box. Your Service Manager told me not to worry; simply unbolt it and swing it out of the way. It worked like a charm and, after installing a new battery, the car starts and runs perfectly. read more

1. I received routine maintenance on my Rav4 in November. Recently, I noticed dripping I could not attribute to condensate. When I took the car to another dealer they confirmed Performance had not tightened the drain plug completely, causing a slow oil leak. Thankfully, I caught it and the leak was slow so the engine was not damaged. Apparently, it is the most basic thing to verify this plug is tightened and my new mechanic was amazed / dismayed another dealer made this rookie mistake. Per Saul's review, this doesn't seem to be a one time mistake on Performance's part. 2. Toyota tried to get me to pay for a complete realignment on my almost brand new car. Only after a lot of back and forth and push back on my part did they say, actually, they were looking at a different car, not my Rav. Does little to inspire confidence in their attention to detail and quality control. 3. 30% of the service staff I have dealt with were nice people. But, the other 70% or so are rude and dismissive. I service my car on 10/13/25 for its interval maintenance and the week after my car lost all the oil on my way back home from work causing internal engine wear damage and told me they made everything good that they don't know what exactly happened bc the didn't find the oil drain plug when inspecting the car after the tow truck took it to them (ofc they won't find it bc it probably fell while driving the car) all I know is that plug wasn't going to came out itself by magic. They put a new plug and oil back, drove it, saw no codes, no bad sounds and said it was good but how will I be sure the cylinder wall, piston and piston rings are fine when they didn't even open the engine? I guess I will never know thanks to them, living with the fear of my car breaking up at any point. Bought and paid for (in full) a new RAV4 hybrid from Performance Toyota on March 13. They said that the car was built and ready to be shipped from the factory in KY. Was informed that it would take 1-2 weeks for delivery. Well, then they went quiet, didn't know when it would be delivered, didn't know where it was while in transit... Crickets. Then, it was shared that the car had hail damage, suffered in transit, and needed to be fixed. Now mind you, they've had my money since March 13. Finally got a call from them yesterday (May 1). The car was in and ready to be driven off the lot. Well, when I arrived, I was informed that there were some additional "delivery" charges that totaled $1,100 (that they were willing to waive for my troubles - of being jerked around for 7 weeks - my words). They offered $225 as interest for the use of my money during the time of their non-delivery of the vehicle. That's all. I wanted addition warranty time, no deal. SO - you make the call - did they make up for the trouble of non-delivery of the vehicle over a 7 week period, when it was paid in full in mid-March? Did they make the transaction right in the end? My take - NO WAY. I am the customer and they made this sale into an experience from hell. I could call them the names that they deserve, but my mother taught me better. Their moms obviously didn't. Salesperson Amy told me and the person I was with that paint and fabric defense came with the car at no cost. I did not even want that plan nor did she specifically tell me what it does or covers. When come to find out I am being charged for it on my loan. Called dealership and spoke to Mike, he said he can't do nothing about it and that's it out of his hands. He would not honor the fact that me as a customer was mislead and lied to. What customer service is this. They had the exact used car, with the exact specs we were in search of. My sales person was top notch, we negotiated and struck a deal in no time. The problem arose when signing the paper work. I immediately declined the 3rd party Extended Warranty plan. The vehicle had only 21k and still had bumper to bumper coverage. The sales manager would not give up pushing this warranty (commission) to the point of being a flat out jerk. Calling it stupid and crazy not to have this. Wish I could leave 0 stars but that's not an option. I had an actuator installed for the 4wd on my Tundra. Was installed incorrectly and then told the second time it was the transfer case. Took it to Freedom Toyota and they installed the part correctly. Cost me $400 to have the part installed INCORRECTLY and they won't refund the cost because "the tech no longer works here" and they never wrote up the service correctly for either visit!!! This place is a joke, do NOT go here, go to any other Toyota dealer but here. They will rip you off and leave you with a part that isn't even installed correctly. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I purchased a vehicle from here and then noticed the leaf spring was broken after it had just been inspected by them too. First the manager tried telling me I did it myself, after only having the vehicle 3 weeks and you could see it's been broke for a while. After fighting with them they agreed to replace it. 2 weeks later I finally get a call stating it's done. As I'm on my way in I get a call saying it's messed up and the rear is sitting 3" higher than the front because they went the cheap way and didn't do oem. So truck sat there another week waiting to get done. Once I got it back I noticed my radio was messed up and not aligned right and I had a bunch of dents all over my roof. Manager was not happy but agreed to fix it. During all this I just wanted my money back and they can take the truck since I've owned it for 2 months and didn't even get to put 500 miles on it. Jim the "general manager" agreed to buy it back but at a completley lower price than I paid. Told me the market changed that fast in a month which is a lie. So now fast forward to today to finally getting my truck back yet again from them to the doors being covered in grease, my radio still not fixed and "overspray"? They also promised to fill my tank as well since I've put more miles on it driving there and back than I have in general but when I got it back the low fuel light was on. To date, I've had good experiences particularly with the service and parts departments. I'm particular about my vehicles and the service that they receive. Based on my past experience, I can recommend them. I hope that they keep doing good service work at 'reasonable' prices. I also hope they keep parts prices reasonable so that I can buy Toyota parts from them instead of buying after-market parts for the times I perform my own service. We had a problem with the transmission of our truck while on vacation in the Reading Pa. area last week.(May 2019) The service staff at Performance Toyota saved our vacation. They treated us like their best customer and got us in quickly and then as soon as the part came that we needed they took care of it. Each time we were there we could see how busy they were and they still kept us up to date on the delivery of the part that had to be ordered. We are SO grateful for all they did to help us. We were impressed with how well every customer was treated and how they gave each person their individual attention when they were helping them. When I requested the price of the vehicle it was emailed to me by the sales agent who stated that it was provided to her by her sales manager. My sales person was exceptional, and quick to assist in the sale of a great used vehicle. I realize that the used vehicle I purchased is based on a 'As Is' basis, But I had gotten the vehicle home to discover that the front disc brakes were well worn beyond inspection tolerances. The 'passed' inspection was completed within a 2 week of the sale to me. The issue was immediately brought to Peformance's attention via a phone conversation w/ a promise someone would get back to me. They never did. To me, SILENCE, speaks volumes in proving one's guilt. I believe that what goes around comes around. Just got an oil change for my 2011 Camry done at Performance Toyota. In the past their service we terrible. For the oil change they did not top the fluids even after I pointed it out to them. I ran into a few arguments with the service reps. The only reason why I used to go back was Performance was the closest Toyota dealer to me. This all changed after I met the new service manager Jim Henne. He provided the personal touch and made sure I was taken care of. He followed up and personally called me when the worked on my car was completed. Now I will start taking my Toyota's (I have 3) to have them service at Performance. Read a previous post and agree that the pass service was poor but all that have changed. Like a football team that under-performed they bring in a new coach and this is what Performance did they bought in Jim to fix the problems. read more
