Our liner, made by Latham and installed by Performance Pool and Spa lasted about 1 year before we noticed that it was defective. I tried for years to get it replaced for free because it was defective. NOPE- wouldn't do it. Performance Pool and Spa won't even respond to the letter our attorney sent. DON'T use PPS, they won't stand behind their product!!! See all those very straight lines? Shift them over at the cut/creases and they make long straight lines across the entire pool but according to PPS and Latham that's not considered defective?!?!! read more

We had our pool installed in early June of this year by Performance. While there is many options out there, we have never once regretted our decision to chose Performance. The service Terry and his team provide is above expectations. Today is our 10 year old "make up" birthday party and last night our heater wasn't working. Terry had a guy out by 9:00 am this morning to find out the problem was with the landscapers shutting off the gas. He had it solved in minutes and up in running. Remind you, they had someone here with in 12 hours to diagnose the problem and ensure we had our pool to use today. All of this team seems very knowledgeable about their jobs and has really provided a flawless experience. Again, lots of choices out there but I would pick Performance every time. read more

We've been very happy with our pool service from Performance, including openings, closing and maintenance. We just ordered an auto-pool cover as well and they were very helpful with questions and helping to choose the best options. They've never tried to over-sell us on products and have always been timely and professional. Justin, the service manager, is a nice guy and great to work with. This is concerning the Service Department of Performance Pools. I have left three calls thus far to straighten out a problem and I can't even get a common courtesy of a call back, Very disappointing. Here is the saga..... I had PP come out to fix my old pool heater. They came out and said, I needed a new one. I ordered a new replacement pool heater based on the recommendation of a serviceman from PP. He suggested a 260,000 BTU Heater. I agreed. He came back and put it in, however he couldn't get it to light because after running a diagnostic, he said I wasn't getting enough gas pressure. He recommended a 200,000 BTU heater which he said would solve the problem. PP came back in a few days, took out the 260,000 BTU and put n the recommended 200,000. Well, it did not solve the problem. Couldn't get that one to light. They recommended a plumber to come over to See what was going on. I took their recommendation and set up an appointment. He said, neither heater would work. He said I needed a high volume gas line to be put in. I agreed. I called PP (3 times) to have the original 260,000 BTU heater put back in at no cost for installation, since it was their advice that a 200,000 BTU would take care of the problem. AND here we are - NO CALL BACK!!! I'll keep calling and keep you informed. Update: Finally got a call back and we came to an agreement. read more

The only Sundance spa dealer in the area now. Called them April 16 2019 to schedule service for my spa. Was told by Justin, apparently the ONLY technician they have on staff, that it would be 30 days due to previously scheduled pool openings. I said fine put me on the schedule. I called back and left messages several times in an attempt to see where I was on the schedule It is now May 23 and no  service. Clearly this company is NOT interested in the spa business. read more

We have had wonderful service from Performance Pool. We put our pool in 10 years ago with Performance and have always had easy openings and closings and prompt service. Justin in the service department is so responsive and does everything he can to get service people out ASAP. We had a broken automatic cover during a week we were going to have guests at our home for a wedding weekend. We couldn't close or open the pool and it was stuck half way. I called Justin in a panic because we wanted to use the pool. They were backed up about two weeks because of the 4/20/18 snowfall we thought we were out of luck. However, two days later I looked out back and someone was fixing our cover. Thank you Justin! You saved the weekend. read more

Terrible experience. Worst service received from any Minnesota company - and that goes for pre-purchase, in the store, and even after sale. Do not go to Performance Pool if you can avoid it. Here is what happened: We have an above-ground pool in Jordan, Minnesota, and were interested in buying a pool treatment system that would maintain water quality and sanitation, as well as limit algae growth. We confirmed with Performance that they carried the system we wanted before driving the 40 minutes there from Jordan. They assembled the components, and twice we asked "Is this all we will need?", to which they replied "Yes. That's all. You have everything you'll need." We got home to learn they had only sold us pool sanitizers and the like but had not even given us the necessary dispenser for everything - the key component - meaning we'd spent $200 for nothing and wasted our time with a 1hr and 20 minute roundtrip. We called them back, and after an exchange, they promised on Monday, July 3, that they would order what we in fact had needed in the first place, and that it would be in on Wednesday, July 5. They would call us on Wednesday, they said. We received no phone call on Wed, or on any other day from them. When we called them yesterday, Saturday, they had not even ordered the promised dispenser at all. In asking why they never called us, they claim to have ordered the wrong part as though that explained why they didn't bother even to tell us that. Totally non-responsive. We drove the 40 minutes back there again just yesterday to return everything, given the lack of customer service or concern. The treatment in the store at that time was even worse, if you could imagine. The salesperson(Ted) told us to "Just order it from Amazon", after expressing a high degree of indifference to the service we'd received and the time they had wasted. He could not have had a more sarcastic tone. The manager (Jack) was standing right there when the salesperson sarcastically told us to order from somewhere else, said nothing/did nothing, and neither one of them so much as offered to put in a re-order(not that we would have wanted it from them anyway). The final insult came when the salesperson swiped our credit card for the refund, and no kidding, literally tossed it over the counter at us. We felt this business surely has an owner who ought to care about this kind of dis-service, but for our part, we will never come there again and will never recommend them to anyone. I usually don't write reviews but this place has such bad service I figured id share. I work for a commercial property that had problems with a pool cleaner. I bring it there they say 50 bucks to look at it. no problem , check it out and let me know. the guy calls me back says it needs a new cord they can order it for $389. alright order it up and let me know, he says it will take about a week. THREE weeks later I call to figure out what's going on. another guy told me, yep its done sorry we never called. cool I go in to pick it up and another guy says no its not done, we haven't got the part yet. I ask what's going on why isn't it fixed yet and what's the timeline on getting the part. he says he can look into getting the tracking number but that would take a few hours. which is weird but he said he would call me back. NO phone call back. I call the next day and tell them i'm picking it up. in which I finally get a call back two hours later that says he can get the part in three days. I told him no i'm washing my hands of this company and picking it up. picked it up and ordered the part I needed online for $150 DOLLARS LESS then they wanted and it will be here in 3 days. I would avoid this place at all cost and will be spreading the word threw all my contacts and vendors not to use this place. in my four years at my current position this is the worst customer service I have encountered. read more

When we opened our pool this season the liner was horribly stained brown, the water was clear, clean and chemically balance - we had trucked in chlorinated water, which we had done many years prior. I went into the Plymouth, MN location with a sample of water and spoke with a young man. He immediately recommended a product (stain away), explained in detail how it worked and wrote the instructions down. I went home and within a few hours the liner, stairs and drain all looked like new. I wish I could post before and after pictures. I have gone in many times since and found the employees to be friendly and helpful. read more
