I recently had the some rather unfortunate luck with my former Audi (refer to my review for my new mechanic, also received a 5-star review from me) and was forced to find a new vehicle. I went to numerous car dealerships, talked to umpteen sales people, got numerous harassing emails and phone calls etc., until I came to Performance Lexus by King's Auto Mall. First of all, the entrance and lobby is pretty imppressive; they have a very large waterfall-type thing in front (which does look kind of weird coming off the highway but it is rather nice). They also have a work-out room with treadmills and different equipment, apparently for patrons waiting to get their oil changed? I'm not that motivated. They also have a REALLY nice waiting area with lots of snacks and drinks (free food will win you big points with me every time), a fireplace and a big screen TV. I wanted to take a nap on their sofas. I had seen the car I wanted to look at online, so I knew exactly what I wanted. Even though they seemed busy, the receptionist got a salesperson right away for me. I can't say enough good things about John Drennan; right from the beginning, I could tell that he was actually passionate about what he sells. He wasn't pushy or schmoozy at all, and when he took me on a test drive, he let me drive around for at least 30 minutes, making me feel like he was more than happy to actually take time to help find me the right car. When I told him I wasn't going to buy anything until it got the ok from a male friend (who, unlike me, knows about car stuff), he was more than happy to set up an appointment whenever it worked for our schedule. He stayed at least 2 hours after the dealership closed to work with us, making sure I got the best deal. Everyone I came in contact with was extremely nice and helpful; granted, that's their business, but it didn't feel forced or too.....car salesman-esque. I'm pretty sure they've earned my business for life. Or at least as long as I'm driving a Lexus. read more

Dishonest Service department during a basic maintenance service. Even after I specifically expressed concern about doubt that my tires weren't rotated on the last visit - they didn't do it again AND said they did! They put me back on the road without batting an eye. The service Mgr admitted it - this isn't just an opinion. During my THIRD visit to request for my tires to be rotated (and a video of the service) my tires were called "dangerous". That would have been nice to know the week prior when they claimed they rotated them?!?!Service team shouldn't be on commission. And don't come at or after 4 when they are near the 5:00 pm bell to leave. Shocking from a Lexus dealership. Apathetic half hearted apology from the Mgr. He didn't seem that bothered by how his team conducts business AND that they put a customers safety at risk. The Service Manager labeled this dishonest way of doing business as a "miscommunication" or "confusion". I was VERY clear about the tire service and I signed the work order prior to the service. They just didn't do it. Period. read more

Performance just does it right. I go there for minor service and after-market parts, and they are always friendly and professional. They even have Todd, who worked for several years at the BMW dealership where I spent too much time (and money) servicing my BMW's. We both agree that Lexus is a much better car and Performance a much better dealership! read more

I bought a pre-owned RX350 back in Jan 2016 and I've been very pleased with my service from day 1. Mike was great at helping me find a year/color/features/price combo that fit my needs and Phyllis in service is always a pleasure to work with. This was by far the best car buying experience I have ever had. I purchased a pre-owned GX470, and Geoffrey Bobst handled the entire transaction in a first class manner like I was buying a brand new car. I drove off with a used car that came to me like it it was brand new. There was no painful haggling about price. My service sales associate was nice, accommodating and professional. Based off this interaction I would like to return with my business. Simply, took the car in for basic service and they found basic service to do and charge me...pretty sure that is the name of the game. Not necessarily disappointed with the additional charges and suggested work except that the two small things I asked them to look at they did not....however, they identified another small issue that obviously took a lot more time to identify so how did you miss the two things I pointed out. If I cannot trust you to take care of the things I bring the car in how can I trust your overall body of work. I would probably come back but if I encountered the same thing again probably not. As for the Lexus brand..love it...has been dependable, reliable, comfortable and I enjoy the sophisticated ride. read more

This business does not stand by its reputation. Tony Baxter did everything in his power to sell me a lemon. I am not their regular Lexus customer, I purchased a used Kia. Therefore, I received lies, deception and fraudulent customer service. Now they want to act as if buying the vehicle back is an issue. If I were the right complexion it wouldn't be an issue. I took my ES 350 in for a 65,000 mile service. This is a quick service, unlike the major 60,000 mile service, I had done there previously. I was told everything looked good except a c/v boot needed to be replaced. I scheduled that service for the following week and paid the nearly $200 for the minor 65K mile service. The service advisor told me they would bring my car around right away. While I was waiting for the car, the service advisor informed me that they forgot to change the oil so it would be a little longer. That's the main component of the 65K service, so why had that not been done already? What have they been doing with my car all this time. I brought the car in the following week for the additional service on the CV boot. They called me to tell me the work was complete and to come pick it up. When I got there they told me they were still working on the CV boot. Then they told me the rear brakes need to be replaced. I asked how that could be, since the week before they told me the breaks were fine and had that written on my 65k statement of work. I was told they had to take the wheels off to get an accurate look at the brakes and that was not determined the week before. Can you believe this? But this now leaves two very concerning questions: 1) if they didn't take the wheels off the week before, then how could they have told me the brakes were fine when I had it there for the 65 K service? 2) my tires were supposed to have been rotated as part of the 60 K service. So they had in fact taking the wheels off and still provided me with a different break where number. How could that be? Either way somebody's lying and somebody is not doing their job. I spoke with the service manager and he was arrogant and did not offer any explanation or remedy. Previously, I've had my car there for detail work. I had to take it back because several spots on the interior had not been cleaned properly. In addition the area carpets were sopping wet and I ended up having to hang them outside to dry. For a premium car, the service here is substandard and only leaves me to question the reliability and quality of the work. As a result of these experiences there, I can no longer trust the people working on my car. read more

I recently had my 2009 Lexus ES 350 in for 60,000 mile dealer recommended service. The loaner they gave me was excellent and the service personnel treated me well, However, three days later when I started my car, the screen read "Key Not Detected." I had to locate my spare key before I could start the car. When I dropped off the car I told them that my battery in the key fob was low, and I was assured that replacing the key fob was part of the 60,000 mile service. In looking over my invoice I WAS CHARGED for a battery replacement in the key fob. It makes me wonder how many of the other services I paid for were actually performed.. read more

I just purchased my second Lexus from John Milazzo. I've been purchasing cars from John since 1988 and I consider him a great salesman. I followed John from Performance Toyota in Fairfield to Performance Lexus in Kings Automall (that's how good he is). He never pressures me and tries to meet my needs whenever I'm ready to buy a new car. He has broken the stereotype of a car salesman. He mentioned that I'm one of the 5% of customers who walk in and drive away with their new car the same day. My family and I have done that at least 5 times over the past years. Unfortunately, that percentage changed for me when I recently purchased my 2015 RX350. I mentioned that John had spoiled me in the past by having exactly what I was looking for sitting on his lot when I was ready to purchase. Still, it only took one week for me to take delivery of my new car. I don't blame John for this delay, just my luck changing. I continue to trust John and have recommended him to my friends and family. The experience at Performance Lexus has been very nice. When I tell my friends how well I'm treated, they are surprised to learn that a car dealership would treat their customers that way. I take advantage of the free car washes (even continue to take my '97 Celica to Performance Toyota in Fairfield for them). Their customer service is excellent. I loved owning my first Lexus and hated to trade it in. It was a dream to own and drive. Lexus shrewdly allowed me to drive the Lexus RX350 as a loaner one time and after that I was sold on the RX350. It took me a year, but I was finally able to work my finances so the I could purchase one, and I'm loving it. I have to compliment Jonathan Gutman for the great job he did in explaining to me the built-in navigation/computer system in the car. I have taught others on computers and was pleased that Jonathan's instructions were very easy to understand. I value highly both Jonathan and John for their patience in showing me all the great features of the RX350. As long as John Milazzo is working at Performance Lexus, I will continue to purchase cars from him, so Lexus can count me as a return customer. This just isn't the same Lexus dealership that it once was. The service department is still A+ in my book though. Very recently we went into the dealership to trade in our 2008 and 2009 Rx and Lx for new vehicles and expected the same level of service we had become accustomed to when Dave Reeve ran things. Took my 2015 Lexus RX350 in for 15,000 mile service. All that was needed was tire rotation and fluid checks. Maintenance reminder was on indicating service was needed. I have my doubts as to whether the dealer did the tire rotation since they could not even manage to reset the maintenance reminder. Probably parked the car for an hour and then gave it back to me. The folks at Performance Lexus really know how to WOW you! It's been about 10 years since I bought a new vehicle and I have to say this was by far my best experience ever! Their attention to detail is second to none. They went out of their way to get me the car I wanted (GX460). The car was about 90 miles away at another Lexus dealership and they had it on a flatbed truck shipped to their dealership the next day! I couldn't be happier with my car buying experience. I have to say first of all I almost didnt go to Performance Lexus. I was looking at a used GMC Envoy online and have recent credit issues. I thought a Lexus dealership would treat me like a second class citizen - after all they are in the business of selling high end cars to people above my pay grade ! No such thing - Tony was a super nice guy in sales and so was Jason in finance - even after I declined the extras. The facilities were amazing...didnt do a quick workout in the gymn or a movie in the theater but I did kick back in the lounge with a pop and some snacks. Kids loved the 'Future Lexus Owners Lounge". I have been a customer of Performance Lexus since 1998. I just recently purchased my 5th car from them, however, the sales staff at Performance Lexus has a lot to be desired. I reached out twice to 2 different sales people and no follow up. I finally had to reach out to the sales manager who put me in touch with Doug Greenup who was excellent. However, I don't feel like I should have to beg a dealership to buy a car from them. I was ready to switch brands. The service department is nothing like it used to be. Huge turnover in personnel and no follow up either from service manager. They always make you feel terrible for asking for a loaner when it's supposed to be part of the service..... read more

One of the worst sales experiences I've had in years. I knew what I wanted yet was told straight out that I couldn't have it. The person didn't offer to show me anything, I was shown some price quotes with the options I clearly stated I didn't want. Then I was told that even if I special ordered (which would take 6 months!!!) I still would have to get certain options which would put me 5K over what I was willing to pay. I would be very cautious shopping here. Recently I test drove an IS 250 and I was ready to buy. I made an offer on the car and they accepted. I submitted my credit application and thought I was going to be driving a new Lexus home at the end of the day. When they went to put the closing paperwork together, the numbers suddenly did not add up for them and they could not do the deal. They said that they misinterpreted my offer to think that I had offered them MORE than the sticker on the car. After I explained that, they agreed that the price they were working with was an increase over the sticker and made me another offer that was still thousands over the amount they initially agreed to. They either did misinterpret my offer and wanted to take advantage of me making a simple mathematical error or were trying a bait and switch tactic. My gut feeling is that it was a bait and switch tactic. I would not have expected this from a luxury car dealership, but they are still car salesmen! read more

We have been customers of Performance Lexis since 1999, and we still are. This should say it all. Not only have we purchased our cars there, but we also have had our cars serviced there. We have found the service prices to be very competitive, but what is not competitive is the expertise. The Lexis service personnel are expertly trained to repair and maintain Lexis vehicles. Their work is impeccable, and the actual person who does the work is willing to discuss with the customer, what was done and why. In our case, Phyllis Hartman is our go to person who makes sure everything is coordinated, and she does not hesitate to make sure we have a loaner vehicle if appropriate. We never have been disappointed. As for the sales process, which I understand can be a painful process, is no so at Performance. Mike Witte is our primary sales associate, and Tony Baxter is his capable partner. There guys are great and make the buying experience easy. They work with Ralph Sells, the sales manager, to assure that the "deal" is fair to everyone, and it is. They do what they say they are going to do, and nothing is hidden or ambiguous, which is the most one can expect and what the customer deserves. For these reasons, among others, we will continue to purchase and service our vehicles here. read more

This dealership is amazing. When I walked in, I noticed all the other benefits they offer for customers when there car is in service or getting a new car. I have to say Amanda Seitz is very helpful, kind, and caring. I live 5 hours away and was looking to trade in my Lexus and she was very helpful and quoted me a honest quote. I called all the Lexus dealerships and they basically wanted my 2015 Lexus for 10 cents on a dollar. When I arrived, Amanda greeted me and offered me something to drink. I've been in business for a while and I like that this dealership puts effort for there customers. I have to honestly say that Amanda Seitz is a key factor for the company. I currently very happy with the service she have provided. I have to say if any of my parents or relatives get a Lexus lease, We will have to make the trip and lease it through Performance Lexus. I went to performance Lexus for a simple issue. I needed a new key. After paying over $200 for the key, I was told I had to pay an additional $65 for the key to be programmed. Since there was nothing I could done, I scheduled an appointment. When I arrived, I was told it was going to be $107 for the programming because a more intensive programming was required ? Lie number one! After waiting 40 minutes, Jason the service adviser told me there was a change in Lexus policy and I would have to wait longer as they verify it was my car. He claimed he was unaware of the policy. He said it would be 20 more minutes. Lie number 2! I waited for an hour and 40 minutes more. I paid and left. When I got home I tested the remote portion. It it not work. When I called to ask about it, Jason blamed me since I was in a hurry and came in without appointment. I told him I had an appointment and I am not sure how that would impact the quality of the service or the tech from doing his job. He again blamed me. I guess in am to blame for waiting 2 hours for something that should have taken 25 minutes is my fault. I guess the tech failing to do is job is my fault. They have signs that say if you can't rate them a 10 on their survey then you should speak to a manager. Lie number 3!!!!! The manager could have cared less. All they do is blame the customer. The sad news is that I am in the market for a new car. I will not buy a Lexus again. I guess this is how they pay for the extravagant dealership is by bait and switching their customers read more
