John Proto is a master of his craft! His knowledge is unsurpassed with all types of motorcycles and their individual requirements. He has built me a winning Yamaha TT540 engine for my Flat Tracker. So naturally when I needed my T120R Triumph rebuilt the only choice was Performance Cycle. Appreciate you John, or as he is known "The Proto" read more

I showed up before 8am. There was a car with windows down and music playing inside the store. I waited until 8:00 am and then tried to knock and call for over ten minutes. They posted that they open at 8 am. I drove out of my way before work to go here and they wouldn't even answer the door. Incredibly unprofessional read more

I had some new tires put onto my VStrom and they did a great job. I'd recommend them. They inspire confidence.

Hi John and Matt are great and do great work , it's the only shop I'll take my MC's to be worked on if it's something I can't do.

Took my cbr600rr in for fork seal replacement, was quoted $240.00 over phone. When i took my bike in john says ya it will be $250.00,ok,no big deal. When i pick bike up,i'm told it's $356.47 now. On top of that,my speedometer no longer works. Terrible experience, will take it to honda like i knew i should have in the first place... Gave local guy a shot and after telling me he needs $117.47 more than original quote,i stijj have to take it to honda to get it fixed! 24 hours later, this story gets worse, would not recommend !!! read more

Performance Cycle is worth the wait. Got my yzf450 back and it has never ran better. The bike purrs like a kitten in till you twist the throttle. John adjusted the valves, installed a carburetor kit, and installed new triple clamps with a Scott's steering stabilizer. He does not do unnecessary work and after riding the bike, I feel super confident with and his team working on my bike. I have taken my bike to a Yamaha dealership a couple times with poor results. John is very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. read more

Performance Cycle - Motorcycle Repair Near Me - Diamond Springs, California

Seriously the best ever been going here for 15 years never had a problem.Trust John with anything From your XR 50, to 2021 whatever.

This guy knows motorcycles. I no longer take my bike to the dealer and will prefer to wait. The fact is there is a long wait to get your motorcycle fixed. Why? Because its done right and at a very reasonable cost so they have an enormous backlog. My bike broke down near South Sacramento within two miles of the dealer and I took the time and cost to take it up to this shop. John's expertise is evident by the fact the shop is loaded with vintage motorcycles that were taken their for restoration. John takes the time to explain the repair and how he came up with the costs which I found is generally 30 percent less than the Kawasaki dealers in Sacramento. Trust no one else with my machine. Its a little off the beaten path and in the hills but it will be done right. I highly recommend this place. read more

My vintage CT 110 is running better than ever! Great service, a real interest in my bike, and I was stunned at how affordable the work was. Will return as a lifetime customer! read more

Nope. Unless you're in a bind, prepare to pay dealer prices for parts and labor. Got a quote over the phone and it should've been around $400 out the door. When I picked my bike up I was presented with the bill for about $460, ($25 in tax). Made an initial claim over the phone that he would discount the normal price of $125 to install the tires. Decided to charge the full amount anyways. read more

They either blew me off because I'm a woman or they truly are so busy they don't need my business. "Can't talk to you now, bring your bike in" was the advice I got when I called. read more

Great first experience with Performance! Brought in 2 sets of rims with my new tires for installation (unannounced) and even though he obviously has plenty of work, he offered same-day service for a very reasonable price (I did not need them that quickly, picked up next day). Super friendly guy. It's worth dropping by just see the 50+ crazy old bikes- BSA's, Norton's, old Honda 50's and Dreams, not 1 but 2 Ural's! read more

Scheduled my service and was able to drop off and pick up the same day. Pricing seemed straight forward and fair. Based on my experience today I will no doubt be back. read more

This is the best place I have ever had my motorcycle worked on! They fixed the vibration at freeway speeds...kind of miss it...haha

I found him to be arrogant, testy, incompetent and most unhelpful. A snotty crook. I brought my quad in with a starter problem. He estimated $350. When I paid and picked it up as "ready" it still wouldn't start, I most diplomatically phoned him so. He blew up that $350 wasn't enough so he did unrelated, unauthorized work on it.and how dare I not appreciate it. read more
