After heading out of the National Forest with a trailered boat, one of the rear suspension struts came apart from the weld while turning on Hwy 50. Thankfully, the good people at Idle Wheels were there to save my trailer. The staff stayed open past closing to receive the boat and trailer from a flatbed rig which was amazing. After returning to Placerville a couple of weeks later to pick up my boat and trailer I spoke with Sheydon who did the repairs and explained how he was able to put it back together and made sure that it was done correctly so I would not have to deal with this again. I took my Jayco in to the idle wheels RV center and same day the fixed all the electrical issues I had on the front side of my trailer and even installed a new junction box. When we first discovered this store we were thrilled at the extensive selection of merchandise and the fair price for propane however, on a recent visit, the clerks were not wearing masks, there was no attempt at social distancing ( this was during the highest peak of the pandemic), and the clerk who was helping me was consistently coughing. In addition, they had Rush Limbaugh or one of those lying conservative radio personalities blaring over the speaker. That was enough for us to decide to do our RV shopping elsewhere from then on. I went to Idle Wheels yesterday to purchase a number of items from their parts store. When I entered, neither of the two employees were wearing masks nor observing social distance. One approached me and stopped within a couple of feet. I immediately thanked them and then left. I am disappointed that the business does not think enough about the safety of employees and customers to require masks. It was a great experience working with Sheydon there, and they developed and installed a great system. Their design and workmanship were excellent, and the system works great. This review is a first impression. My RV had a propane leak which emptied the tank completely in a few days. I called on one day and was given an appointment the next day. My fellow RV owners will recognize this as super fast service, almost unheard of. Repair, which was replacement of the propane pressure regulator, was finished by the end of the day, as promised. My truck wasn't showing the trailer brakes connected so I made an appointment to have it checked. After a quick check they determined the issue was with the trailer. I was expecting to not have my trailer back for at least a week and an expensive repair cost. Quite the opposite. I received a call that it was fixed that same day. Amazing! Our motorhome had an issue with the fridge electronic control and also a dangerous issue with a leaky propane intake hose. Both were taken care of at a reasonable price. What I liked is that before Jack called me to confirm everything was fixed, he had kept the fridge running for 24 hours to ensure everything was OK. read more

ALWAYS GREAT SERVICE Last November, while camping in our motorhome, we developed l leak above the shower. The shower dome had cracked all the way around near the base. I called Jack, he ordered a replacement and it was installed in just one day. All great until we were in Oregon this July and guess what, it rained and we had a leak above the shower. well past the warranty period, I took our motorhome back today, they found the leak and repaired it at NO Charge to me. I have two (2) issues with Idle Wheels RV Center. #1 I purchased 2 new LP gas hoses to replace my old hoses that looked like they were about to break. I returned home and installed the new hoses. One of the hoses leaked right away. The other one did not seem to leak. We turned on the propane furnace due to the nights dropping down in the low 30's. The next morning the furnace would not work. I checked and the full LP tank was empty. I changed tanks and checked the tank & hose for leaks, sure enough the new hose was leaking around the manufactured connection just like the first one. So, took them off and drove back to Idle Wheels. I talked with the folks behind the counter and told them of the problem with the hoses & that I was not happy because the failed products they sold me, cause my full tank of LP gas to leak out. So, they said do you want to exchange them? No, I don't want your products, I'd like my money back. No problem, they refunded my account with the purchase price. #2 After telling the lady of my problem with the hoses and losing a full tank of LP gas, she never even offered a free tank of LP gas or even a very deep discount on a tank of LP gas. Then another employee came in and she told him of the problem with the hoses but, did not say anything about losing a tank full of LP gas. I mentioned it to him and he to did not even care about my losing a full tank of gas because of their product they sold that was defective. I felt like it was one of those cases where, "To Hell with the Customer" and "Oh Well to Bad for You, See ya" I try very hard to keep my business on the "hill" I don't like to have to drive all the way to the "valley" to get what ever I need. I believe in supporting the local business's in El Dorado County But, this type of treatment is just why people take their business to the "valley" !!! read more

I went in needing some minor welding done on my trailer frame. I had the parts and factory instructions. The service guy, Jack, looked them over, photocopied them and said he'd show them to his welder and call me. It's been two weeks and I never got a call back. The whole time I was in there he seemed very negative about doing the job, so I'm not really surprised. This comes after having all my service work done there for six years. These guys have really earned my loyal business. My trailer had gotten impossibly stuck on my truck's hitch ball. I've been towing boats for nearly 40 years and never had a hitch get stuck that I couldn't unstick, but this one seemed disastrous - especially since our kids were coming up for a boating vacation next week. I stopped by Idle Wheels late this afternoon to see if they could help. Now these guys, like pretty much all service companies around here, are jammed with work. Still, Chad came out to see what he could do. It took a LOT more time and sweat than I'm sure he'd hoped, but he didn't give up and finally got it free and showed me how to avoid this binding issue in the future. I just purchased a utility trailer from Idle Wheels R.V. Center. What a great experience. I first contacted their trailer sales person David by email to inquiry about a trailer I was interested in. Each email I sent was answered immediately and had detailed answers to all of my questions. When I went in to look at the trailer, everyone working at Idle Wheels R.V. was customer service oriented, very professional, and efficient. I decided to purchase the trailer and the woman (sorry I forgot her name) and David had all of the DMV paperwork and purchasing process done in less than 10 minutes. I told David I was going to go to lunch then come back to get the trailer. When I returned, David had the trailer all washed up and ready to go.
