I am a 62-year-old woman raising my 21-year-old son, I am also a Real Estate Agent and my Dell computer shut down on me when I was working on my laptop. It seemed my hinge broke and cracked my screen within 10 seconds of opening my computer. My screen went black and I immediately called my computer repair company. Mike, my computer guy, told me to open it up while on the phone and I did that, once I did it a whole bunch on white letters came up on the screen and he thought my computer crashed at that time. Told me to shut it right down and bring it right in! I told Mike the most important thing for me was my data. I wanted a copy of everything. Mike took out my hard drive and he was hoping to get my files and unfortunately nothing was on the hard drive. Mike said Everything was gone! I told Mike I had to find a company to get the data off my computer so Mike looked up online and found Securedata.com Mike handed me the phone and Secure Data told me they would not charge me if they could not get anything off my computer. I would not be charged and that they would email me a FEDEX prepaid label right to me and that's what they did. They received my hard drive the next day and told me within 1 to 3 days I would hear from them and let me know if they could recover my data. Within 2 or 3 days, I received an email saying they can get the data and even sent me a copy of my file names. I was so happy to see my lost files, they also gave me a price in order to get my data. Randall worked with me a little on price and I am Super grateful to get my files back. Honestly when the FEDEX driver came to my house I knew it was my data and I immediately opened the package up and put in the new thumb drive into my new computer. I wanted to make sure my important files that was most important were there. It appears everything is there! Wow Very Grateful again! If anyone is looking for a really good data recovery site, Securedata.com has treated me more than fair and I will let all my Realtor friends and colleagues know about my experience with Randall and Secure Data Recovery. I can't believe I've waited so long to write this review. I guess I wanted to make sure everything…read morewas going to work, first. Then I forgot. My MacBook Pro stopped working on 26 October 2024. Yea, I remember the specific date! I was flying home from La Paz, Mexico. Did some work at the airport. Shut off my computer in order to board the flight. It refused to turn on the entire way home despite me trying to power it up, several times. Once I arrived home, the computer turned on. One final, last breath. Literally, seconds. That was it. First stop was the Apple Store. They took the computer apart and took pictures for me of water damage to the logic board. Where or how that happened I have absolutely no idea. But it was a fact. They asked for some ridiculous amount of money to replace the logic board but they would not be able to recover my data. It was one of those times when I'd recently thought about making a back up but then got busy, distracted, and never actually got around to it. Stupid. Yes, I know. Also, human. I called MacBadger asking for help. Even before I became a paying customer, Oliver was incredibly helpful. He gave me tips and suggestions. I was flying to Maine within a couple of days and didn't want to leave the laptop in Florida, so I brought it with me. Took it to a "Mac specialist" recovery shop in Maine who had the computer for several weeks. When they finally did call me, they told me they had been unable to recover any data, despite their best attempts. Oh no!!!! I called MacBadger. Oliver sent me a shipping label and my computer was in the mail, the next day. They too had the computer for quite a while. Their phone system did some weird thing and flagged my number as spam so I wasn't able to get through when I called. It was incredibly stressful. Finally reached the shop via email. Oliver assured me everything was okay. They were still working. To date had not been able to recover anything but had not given up. A couple weeks later, he called me back. They did it!!!! All of my business records, class handbooks and presentations; all of my tax information; pictures from my son that he sent while in Iraq. It was all, back!!!! They backed it up on an external HD for me. I was so happy, I actually did cry. Oliver even insisted on bringing it directly to the house vs making me drive to the shop for pick up. Thank you does not cover the level of gratitude I have for MacBadger. I recommend them without reservation. Fantastic!!! Life-savers.

**DO NOT PURCHASE FROM BEST BUY -- AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, IF YOU VALUE YOUR POSSESSIONS AND THE…read moreSAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY, THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE ALLOWING BEST BUY TO INSTALL ANYTHING IN YOUR HOME.** I purchased a new television from Best Buy, purchased the television mount from Best Buy, and PAID BEST BUY to professionally install the entire package in my new apartment. Today, I was standing in my kitchen when I heard a noise. I looked into my living room and my stomach dropped. **MY ENTIRE TELEVISION AND WALL MOUNT WERE PULLING OUT OF THE WALL.** The mount had come away from the wall and the television was apparently being held up by only ONE remaining screw at the bottom. I was home alone. I had nobody there to help me hold the television, nobody to help me lift it off the failing mount, and nobody to help me get it somewhere safe before it came crashing down. And all I could think was: **What if I hadn't been home? What if a child had been standing underneath it? What if a pet had been underneath it when it fell?** This wasn't a television I hung myself. **I PAID BEST BUY FOR PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION.** When you pay a major national retailer to professionally mount a large, heavy television on your wall, you should be able to trust that it was installed safely and securely. So I immediately called Best Buy expecting them to take the situation seriously. Instead, I was told that because the installation was more than 90 days old, they would not warranty it and that I would have to pay **nearly $200 for someone to come out and LOOK AT IT.** I was also told I would have to "get on the schedule." Let that sink in. **The television that BEST BUY installed was actively pulling out of my wall, and their response was that I could pay them almost another $200 and wait to get on their schedule.** I was so disgusted that I hung up. And then it got even worse. This happened at approximately **3:00 PM on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend.** Somehow, I was lucky enough to find an independent professional named Steve who understood the urgency and arrived within approximately 30 minutes. When Steve safely removed the television and mount from the wall, we discovered what was behind it. **BIG SURPRISE -- IT WAS A SHODDY INSTALLATION.** The mount had locations available for FIVE screws. **Best Buy's installer had used only TWO.** The two screws weren't even the same length. The longer of the two screws had been installed at the BOTTOM of the mount instead of the top, where significant pull-away stress occurs. So for all of this time, I had a large, expensive television hanging on my wall and had absolutely no idea how it had been installed behind that television. Why would I? **I PAID BEST BUY PROFESSIONALS TO INSTALL IT.** That is the part people need to understand. When you hire someone to install something in your home, you're not standing behind them inspecting every screw. You are PAYING THEM because you're trusting that they know what they're doing. You're trusting that the work you cannot see has been done correctly and safely. Apparently, that trust was misplaced. To make this even more unbelievable, **I ALSO PAY BEST BUY FOR THEIR TECH SUPPORT/WARRANTY MEMBERSHIP PACKAGE.** You can be assured that I will be cancelling that as well. Why would I continue paying a company for protection and technical support when I cannot even trust the quality of the installation they performed in my home? This isn't about a late delivery. This isn't about somebody being rude at a checkout counter. This isn't about receiving the wrong television. **THIS IS A LARGE, HEAVY TELEVISION THAT WAS PULLING OUT OF MY WALL AFTER I PAID BEST BUY TO PROFESSIONALLY INSTALL IT.** And when I called them while it was happening, instead of hearing, "That should not happen. Let's make sure you are safe and get someone there," I heard about their 90-day policy, another nearly $200 charge, and getting on a schedule. That response tells me everything I need to know. If you're thinking about buying a television from Best Buy, televisions are available from plenty of other retailers. But if you're considering paying Best Buy to install something heavy in your home, **PLEASE REMEMBER MY EXPERIENCE BEFORE YOU MAKE THAT DECISION.** Ask exactly how many fasteners will be used. Ask whether they're going into studs. Ask what hardware is being used. Ask whether the installation meets the mount manufacturer's requirements. And do not simply assume that because the company is Best Buy and you're paying for "professional installation," everything behind that television was necessarily done correctly. I made that assumption. **I WILL NEVER MAKE IT AGAIN.** Based on my experience, **I cannot recommend Best Buy installation services and I will be taking my business elsewhere.** Best Buy, you should be embarrassed. You had an opportunity today to hear, **"The television YOUR installer mounted is coming out of my wall,"** and imm
