I first saw Dr. Belusa over 20 years ago. I was hired as a Massage Therapist by him but I already had a Chiropractor that I loved. I had seen many that were not very good so I was loyal. But as I came in for my shift one day, Dr. Belusa noticed, even though I tried to hide it, that Inwas in pain. I literally had just come from my Chiropractor. He offered to help and in 2 min my pain was gone. I fired my Chiropractor and hired Dr. Belusa. For 6 years I was unable to come as I was out of state. I started making regular visits during my first pregnancy to help with the aches and pains (as referred by my Doctor), and I definitely saw the benefits from the alignments and stretches during birth; I was even sent home with visuals and descriptions on best stretches at home while pregnant. I hate going to the doctors but I love coming here! I have been having back pain, neck pain, head aches, and just a bunch of issues. I have degree in health and have known about the benefits it has. I finally decided to go to the chiropractor and I am so so glad I did. The ladies at the office are wonderful. They are flexible with scheduling, mask worn, and very personable. I have Kaiser insurance which most chiropractic won't accept which is why I haven't been. They worked with my insurance. I was able to be seen the next day. The doctor takes his time to really listen to you. Now a days that is hard to find. He has adjusted me many times. I just had revaluation exam. I am feeling so much better. We still have some work to do in the office and out. I have stretches he had shown me personal how to do at home. I also went to his class about how to better your life and spine. Eventually my insurance will stop covering it because it doesn't see it needed long term but I plan on coming back for continued regular maintenance care. My back feel so much better. Getting older really bites. You do things the same way you did in your twenties, but somehow your body responds in completely new and interesting ways... Take, for instance, our annual Kentucky Derby party earlier this month. We set everything up nice, I drank way too much and had a nasty hangover the next morning. Despite that, I pushed through and cleaned the house on Sunday to have it nice and clean when the workweek began. I'm not 100% sure what I did or lifted that was too heavy but I pretty much fucked up my back big time. It all started then, on that Sunday. A week later I was in total agony popping Advil like they were M&Ms. My wife suggested I see Dr. Eric Belusa, her chiropractor. Dr. Belusa runs the Performance Chiropractic Center and I gotta say he does a kickass job. I've been to 4 sessions now and my back is pretty much all back to good. It turns out I have a hip slightly higher than the other too, something I wasn't aware of. If you put aside the strange cracking sounds deep in your core and trust in him, Dr. Belusa'll fix you right up. The only problem I've found is that I always have to wait a while when I get to my appointment at 5:30 PM, but that's I guess due to his busy schedule thanks to his excellence... I first saw Belusa when I was a teenager after falling off of a roof! I had some type of sprain on my wrist and arm, was in a lot of pain, and could not extend my arm or grip my fist. I had already seen another doctor who recommended a brace, pain meds, and rest. This didn't seem to be working well for me and my mobility was not coming back. A friend of mine recommended Belusa, but I was skeptical of a chiropractor because I had already seen a "regular doctor".... Belusa was very impressive. He performed some type of ART (Active Release Technique) and had my range of motion back within hours. His ability to isolate the muscles/tendons/ligaments in my arm and restore my range of motion seemed like magic to me. Recently (more than 10 years later) I went back to Belusa for some lower back pain and muscle spasms. I've been to another chiropractic office here in Concord, all they wanted was thousands of money up front, this is not so for Dr. Belusa's office. They are all vaccinated, other offices are not. Having been to another chiropractor in concord, who was NOT helpful, I was leery when referred to Dr. Belusa from my OB/GYN. I was pregnant and suffering from debilitating tension headaches. I felt better after one visit. After my second visit, I no longer needed daily pain medication to manage. Dr. Belusa impressed me with his calm, professional manner, and, in addition to "curing" the headaches, taught me valuable exercises to employ on my own. His knowledge of the human body and health has inspired me to take my health into my own hands and learn as much as I can. Since then, 9 years have past. Over those years, he has seen me through 3 pregnancies, each one more challenging on my aging body and now the aches of motherhood. Whenever I have a strange ache, pain or injury, the first place I call is this office. I have yet to come across anything that he hasn't been able to fix. My husband who was a firm skeptic, saw how great I felt and began to see Dr. Belusa too. Eventually our 4 children began to benefit from him as well. When our 2 year old suffered from chronic ear infections, the pediatrician had put him on antibiotics and was going to have surgical tubes put in his ears. Well, one adjustment from Dr. Belusa and he NEVER had another infection. I could go on and on with success stories of all the random ailments our family has seen, and how chiropractic adjustments have changed our lives, but really I just want to recommend this guy because NOT ALL CHIROPRACTORS ARE THE SAME! This review is mostly about a technique this chiropractor uses, as I'm sure many chiropractic care clinics use, which is manual adjusting your neck, a.k.a. neck cracking. I went to Dr. Belusa for two or three years. His staff was excellent and Dr. Belusa was very professional in his treatment with me. He helped bad sciatica I'd acquired from wearing a boot on one foot, which was treatment for a torn tendon in my left foot/ ankle. Having seen only one other chiropractor before, who used an activator tool to adjust my spine and joints, Dr. Belusa strictly used manual adjustments with me. However, they seemed to work and I can't say, it isn't the best approach for some people. Body size may have something to do with the type of approach each chiropractor uses, but the activator approach has helped me just as much and seems to carry far less risk for injuries, especially when having your neck adjusted or "cracked." After reading about potential complications with manual neck adjustments and their risk of possibly causing nerve and brain injuries, I brought up the concern to Dr. Belusa. My concern was answered with how safe his approach truly was with potential risk far below one percent. He'd been manually adjusting my neck to alleviate headaches I'd had off and on. Trusting his judgment as a professional, I continued with his approach. Unfortunately, I apparently fell into that low risk category of nerve damage, as I began having breathing problems after having surgery on my torn ankle tendon. The onset of the problem was initially thought due to atelectisis; pneumonia caused by an overdose of anesthesia. But, that cleared up and the breathing problems continued. After seeking out a specialist who surgically repaired phrenic nerves with a graft using a nerve from one's calf, I had the surgery about 16 months after the tendon transfer surgery. That surgeon found scar tissue on my left phrenic nerve caused by a "spinal" injury. I hadn't fallen or had any such spinal injuries, outside of the neck cracking adjustments. Using deductive reasoning, the surgeon felt the phrenic nerve was damaged due to the neck manipulations. Since the breathing problems didn't start until after the foot surgery, he said the pre-damaged nerve must have stopped conducting movement to the diaphragm once the pressure from the atelectasis took over, causing the paralysis. The theory was thought to be a two step process, though the scar tissued phrenic nerve was thought to be the initial cause of the dysfunction. Unfortunately, the nerve graft didn't continue to regenerate enough for the diaphragm to continue moving. As stated before, I'm sure many chiropractors use manual adjustments on necks depending what works best for an individual patient. Dr. Belusa will also use an activator tool, though his preferred method is manual adjustments. I've used both approaches with equal effectiveness, but due to the issues which have rendered me disabled, I would never risk manual neck manipulation without first trying the method using the activator tool! I am not saying Dr. Belusa is a bad chiropractor in anyway, but I just wanted to share my experience and what I've learned the hard way, when it comes to such a situation. Damaged phrenic nerves can be caused by other things, such a getting nicked during heart surgeries and diaphragm paralysis is RARE. Just know the potential risks and what alternative methods there are to neck cracking! read more

First to be fair, I felt somewhat better after I attended performance chiropractic for a couple of times. However the waiting time to see him seemed to take forever, and I always felt like he was rushing to the next person to see. I often felt pressured to attend more often, and I felt like a number more than a person, which was greatly disappointing. I finally stopped attending because after my few sessions there, I didn't really feel like any of my problems where truly solved. I started seeing Dr. Bellusa in 2001 but then moved away. I moved back in 2011 and started having some severe hip pain. I thought hip pain was for "older" citizens and not a woman who is 43. Anyway, I went to see Dr. B again and he did wonders for my hip pain. He treats your whole body and not just the affected area. His knowledge of chiropractic care rivals anyone out there. After a few sessions scheduled a week apart I was able to go to a maintenance program about once a month. He truly is amazing! Please go see him you will not regret it. read more

Hahaha. Some of these negative filtered reviews are funny and dont make any sense. Clearly 2 of them were written by the same disgruntled person. I dont know what some people expect from a chiropractor, but if I get adjusted after not having been for awhile and I am NOT SORE after, then something is wrong. Same with a massage... you expect to be a bit sore (it means they got you good!) .Also, someone commented about a treatment plan which involved multiple sessions? Um, yeah. I know when I have a serous problem I can just go somewhere for a quick one time fix and it makes it alllll better. Please, Of course you need actual treatment for problems. Quick fix my butt. I have been going to chiros for over a decade now, mainly for neck problems. I had a wonderful one in southern california for my neck problem and hip rotation problems. I have not seen anyone for 1.5 years and didnt know any in this area and before I saw the last one, I had not gone in years. Since I have had some pregnancy pain in my back and pubic bone, I know I needed to go again. I researched the options covered by my insurance and decided on this place, as he had extensive information on his website, including information about pregnancy, I felt confident he knew his material and research studies. In fact, he did quote some literature when I was speaking with him which lined up with what I had recently researched. Additionally, I have been to bad chiros. Ones that put vitamins over your body and insist that your body will tell you what expensive vitamins you need to buy from them. Yikes, that is just new age hippie crap with no basis in reality or research literature. I also prefer manual adjustment because it works better, and I have seen chiros that only do electrical, which is strange. Well, on the phone the receptionist was sooooo nice and just a very sweet woman. She took my info and was able to answer my questions and set me up for an appointment the same day. The only drawback is that the office is closed Friday thru Sunday. But, nice for the doctor! The other staff member that helped me was also very sweet. I guess Dr. B knows how to hire people. He was also very nice. I did not feel like he was rushing. I did have to wait a little bit, but I kind of expect that. He spent what I thought was a decent amount of time evaluating me, and said we would discuss treatment plans next visit, which was fine. He also explained he uses physical therapy/rehabilitative tecniques and excercises to supplement what he does with regard to adjustment, which is what I find to be the best way to do things. So, all in all I am happy with my choice and with what happened in my first visit. They also call and remind you of your next appointment, which is great too. Look forward to going back read more

I've been to many chiropractors throughout my life and his knowledge and expertise are second to none. He's great working with insurance companies so you don't have to play the intermediary. I can't say enough good things about my experience with this office. I was told to see a chiropractor before I start trying to have a baby to make sure everything is aligned. I started seeing Doctor B at the end of July 2014. I also work on my feet so I figured seeing a chiropractor would be a good idea. I didn't have chronic pain, I just wanted to make sure everything was aligned for trying to conceive. My husband and I started trying in September. I got pregnant on the first try! I have continued to see Doctor B throughout my pregnancy. He has told me that it's a good thing to prevent back pain as I get bigger as well as have a shorter labor. I see him once a month and will continue to see him more once I'm in my third trimester. He is a really caring chiropractor and his staff is absolutely wonderful. My insurance doesn't cover this office but I refuse to go anywhere else. There cash rate is not bad so I will be coming here no matter what. read more

I began seeing Dr Belusa in my second trimester of pregnancy after finding out that baby #2 was in a breech position. Dr. Belusa specializes in chiropractic care for pregnant women and was extremely supportive of helping me reach my goal of a VBAC. After several sessions of working to establish pelvic balance and alignment my baby turned head down! His adjustments were both gentle and effective. I'm happy to say that I delivered a healthy baby boy through VBAC. I have been going to Dr. Belusa for over 12 years. I originally went in as I had so much stiffness in my neck that I could no longer turn my head without having extreme pain. I had worked for a chiropractor in the past so I knew what questions to ask. I called Dr. Belusa's office and asked to talk to the chiropractor. When he got on the phone I started asking all the questions I could to see how knowledgeable he was. I was very impressed with the way he discussed everything and invited me to come to the office to see how things were set up with no pressure to commit. I have since been in two car accidents and would trust no one else but Dr. Belusa to take care of my back. I have found him to be very professional and even in the busiest of times he has made the time to make sure that if I had questions they were answered. Dude. This guy will really help you feel better. Please take a moment to read my story. I had a wraparound pain that felt like a charlie horse cramp in my chest and back. I had just adopted a couple of children (yay). I went from no kids and poor posture to carrying two toddlers on my right hip exclusively. I can't believe I have waited so long to write this review, I guess its because of old age/forgetfulness. I have been a patient of Dr.Belusa's for quite some time now. Not anymore - I used to just think that he was struggling with money and that is why his office was "sticky" ( old furniture, bad paint job, carpet, foul smelling beds at time). I am realizing now that he is just cheap and money hungry. To be honest I am actually sore for a few days after care. I have since found a few chiro who works wonders and has good bedside manor. Dr. Belusa put's on a front that he is trying to help you...it just depends on his mood for day. I have referred friends and family members to him and have got negative feed back. The last straw for me was a few weeks ago, the AC was not working and the office smelt of old mold. To put some icing on the cake - I had to wait 15 min's to use the restroom and he strolls out of the bathroom with a magazine and a waiting room full of not so happy looking patients waiting for his service. The restroom was FOUL. Hopefully he gets his act together because he has amazing potential with horrid bedside manor. read more
