Stay Away from Performance Automotive - Worst Experience Ever! I brought my car to Performance Automotive to replace the brake pads, rotors, and calipers -- basic work that any competent shop should handle. Instead, I got one of the most frustrating and unsafe experiences of my life. They took two days to complete thats totally fine as i don't have any appointment. When I finally picked up the car, I immediately noticed loud noises from all four wheels, and even worse -- the brakes were not working properly. That's right -- the brakes were worse AFTER the repair. Absolutely unacceptable and extremely dangerous. When I returned to address the issue, instead of taking responsibility, the mechanic started blaming "duplicate parts" and claiming it was a different issue -- even though THEY were the ones who installed everything. He became argumentative, rude, and completely unprofessional. The situation got so out of control that I had to involve the police to settle the dispute. Unbelievable. This shop is not just a waste of time and money -- it's a threat to your safety. If your car is important to your daily commute, work, and family -- avoid this place at all costs. What was supposed to be routine maintenance turned into a disaster that left my car in worse shape than before. Do yourself a favor -- don't risk your vehicle or your life here. The job was perfection, on time, more than reasonably priced, and at a detailed level that was promised (cleaning and repainting the wheel plates). They've earned my business! read more

Robert has fixed our cars for over 7 years. We take our cars to him even though he's about a 30min drive from our house. My favorite thing is that most of the time he keeps the part that broke in my car to show us how it works and why it broke. It makes me really trust him because he takes time to explain how things work. I highly recommend Robert and Michael because they definitely know what they are doing and won't over charge even though they easily could. They even troubleshot a problem on my husbands truck that ended up needing a glass shop to fix. They then recommended a cheaper solution (putting in a flat piece of glass instead of the traditional truck sliding middle window for the back of the cab) as opposed to the dealership we called who just said it would be $400. There are a lot of mechanics in the area. Some are reputable and some not so much. Typically, you don't know what kind of mechanic you have utilized until you get the bill. However, with Performance Automotive you can be assured that you have found a highly reputable mechanic that takes honesty and integrity to a whole other level. As long as I am in the DFW area, Performance Automotive will be my mechanic of choice without a doubt or second thought. Not only did they search for options that were cheaper without sacrificing quality, they did not attempt to sell me things that I did not need. Instead of attempting to gain my business at any cost, they told me that I had been misdirected by other mechanics and that I did not need the parts or services I was told I needed. I went to two different places and was told two different diagnosis. I was told I needed an alternator. Then I was told I needed a starter. Performance Automotive told me I had just purchased a battery with a bad coil and suggested that I return the battery and get a new one. They could have sold me an alternator, starter, and who knows what else, but chose to do the right thing. Instead of ripping me off, they gave me wise guidance. Instead of inflating a bill, they sent me away. I am truly grateful for the professionalism and honor exemplified by Performance Automotive.
