I use the BMW service Dept. Maurice goes beyond the call of duty. He always takes care of us when we drop off our car for service. If it has to stay overnight they give us a BMW Loaner. I have also purchased a vehicle from the BMW Dealer. I was not happy how the deal went , I spoke with them and they made it right. read more

This is for the service department only. Never bought a car there and based on the service department, never will. My wife drops the car off for service and tell her to get approval for anything beyond what we've asked for (check out a wire dangling from the bottom of the car and an oil change). They call back and say that the car needs some $700 service work done at the 30k mile mark. This apparently is an oil change, tire rotation, AND they change your air filters and windshield wipers. I tell them NO and stop by the Advance Auto Parts down the road and replace the air filters and wipers in their parking lot and save about $500. They did suggest a new battery but wanted $190 to replace it. Advance Auto Parts sold me one of their best for $90, installed it free and gave me a 3 year replacement warranty. Another $100 I'll keep. I know it's an Acura and all, but this place never fails to shock me at the prices they charge. i guess some people must let them do this otherwise they wouldn't tell me these ridiculous prices with a straight face. I'd have given them 1 star, but they did fix the wire for free. read more

Great service over the two years I've had my Acura MDX. Went in this week for new tires, LOF & safety check. They were punctual, did great work, called to let me know when it was ready for pickup & price was exactly as quoted. I had comparison shopped tires & they were competitive with anyone in town. This review is for my one experience with this company/location. I came to HATE the car I bought after my beloved 2012 Mazda3 was totaled last year and was periodically looking for a replacement using saved searches on cars.com. While I like to deal only with "my car guy", no trade-ins came in to his dealership that I could afford or that I liked enough to go through the hassle (we drive them until they drop). So, on my monthly perusal, I see a (Wolfpack) red 2010 Toyota Camry with comparable mileage to my current vehicle. I know Toyota is reliable and that's my main concern, so I made an appointment the next afternoon. Met with sales rep, Bryan Korec upon arrival. Former military (Thank you for your service), very nice and easygoing. I never felt pushed, pulled, put upon, etc. The car was really clean and I drove it around a bit. I was pleased with the appearance, and LOVED the color (Go Pack!). Bryan showed me their service records after trade-in, I had already viewed the CARFAX, and I saw the NADA clean retail value which was, in my opinion, a fair price. Initial dickering over trade-in allowance was met and the deal was set. I have been a first-time Camry owner for two weeks now, and am very happy. All in all, it was a positive experience. read more

The Performance Automall Body Shop is absolutely awesome. I stupidly scraped my brand new BMW X5 against a brick wall while parking and the damage was pretty significant (it cut through the paint, there were dents, etc.). I brought it in and got an estimate from TJ (such a nice guy!). I needed the car back on Friday so I could go out of town after bringing it in on Monday (leaving them all of 4 days to do the repair) - he wasn't sure they'd be able to meet that deadline given the parts that were needed, but said he would work hard to ensure it did. He walked me through what was needed and how the estimate was determined, which was very helpful and appreciated. Well, they pulled through in a MAJOR way. Not only was my car done a day early (Thursday), it was washed and perfect when I picked it up. The price was very reasonable given all the work done and I couldn't be more impressed with their efficiency and communication throughout the process. I got a call every day that week to let me know where my car was at in the process of its repair. One change was needed to the estimate when they realized another part was needed and I was notified immediately. The work was well done - you can't tell anything was done to the car. The car looks brand new and the paint is expertly matched. They were understanding, pleasant, and reasonable, and I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful job they did. Incredible attempt at ripping off people who don't understand service. Bought a new BMW from these folks. When the free service ran out at 50K they quoted $203.00 to change the air filter and $248.00 to change the oil and oil filter. Just unbelievable for these simple tasks. I had heard from my friends about their great experiences at Performance AutoMall. Because I was unhappy with my Chapel Hill service experiences in the past, I decided to take my Ford there to see if I would get the same great service that all of my friends talked about. At Performance Chevrolet, I talked to Brant, who was extremely helpful in determining, based on my car's history, what services needed to be performed. After I told him that I was okay with the services that he listed and gave me an estimate for, Brant informed me that the whole process would be a two-day process. He said that they could do part of the service that afternoon, give me my car back, and do the rest of the service the next day. I was happy to do this, as having my car is necessary. He told me that he would not be there on the second day, so he introduced me to Tom, a Subaru service advisor, before I left. He ensured me that Tom was well-aware what all was going on with my vehicle and told me to go to him tomorrow when I came to get my car serviced. The cost of my service was less than his estimate and I was extremely satisfied with the service job. I came back to Performance Chevrolet's service department a month after my service to inquire about something that was hanging down at the back of my car. Brant looked at it and told me it was just the trailer connector hook-up, but told me they would be able to fix it. When I got my car back, the connector was no longer hanging down and--Brant said it was free of charge. I will definitely continue my service at Performance Chevrolet! read more

So I was looking to buy a used vehicle and I checked out their website. They're owned by Hendrick so after sifting through their website hendrickcarsofchapelhill.com and seeing the ASTRONOMICAL prices on high mile cars (For example, a 2012 chevy with over 120,000 miles was well over $10,000) few vehicles i was interested in, I got excited and when to check them out, guess what? The cars weren't there. One car was located in Texas, California, and Florida. WHY ADVERTISE THEM IN CHAPEL HILL IF THEY'RE NOT THERE?! Someone really needs to help you all out with your website and sales tactics because...you're lacking. I will not be a customer there and I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

Typical sleazy car salesmen, don't expect anything special and certainly not a good deal for you. Maybe you will get good service on a new / more expensive car deal. I bought my second hand car from these guys last year. They tell you they inspect the cars and make sure all is in good condition and don't want to sell you anything that's going to break down blah blah. The car I bought was for less than $15k to use while at school. I needed smth reliable and cheap and once I saw it had 50k miles on it, I decided to take it on the spot. Didn't even test drive it. How much could they screw me with this I thought? Well, first the front wheels were crooked and my steering wheel was about to fall off when I got to 60 the first time, not sure how they missed that when "testing" my car. So, I had to take it back for rebalancing and be without a car for a day. That kinda patch things up but eventually I had to drop $300 for new rims. I also had to replace the "new" wipers they gave me that kept leaving streaks all over. Just little annoying things - so much about the inspection they make on the cars. Later last year however, I started hearing weird noises from one of my rear wheels. I went to a few different mechanics and they couldn't figure out what it was. I then remembered that the Automall guys told me that they changed the brakes. I told the mechanics to check that and guess what? One of the brake pads wasn't installed correctly and a bolt or something was protruding and scratching the brake pad. Boom another $300, but I didn't care. I just want a safe and reliable car. I could have gone back to Automall to ask them to fix this, but at this point I just didn't want them touching my car or having anything to do with them. So to summarize, whatever these guys touched (wipers, brakes, tires) was messed up! I think that was the list they mentioned so I hope nothing else breaks or is done wrong. The other big thing they screwed me with was that apparently I "purchased" a $2,000 useless warranty too which somehow I missed to notice in the buying process and no one mentioned of course. I noticed it in my bank statement when my loan was way bigger than the price we talked about. Yes, I am an idiot for not double checking everything that sleazy car salesmen do and signed these documents. Good "salesmen" these guys haha. Screwed me up by the book. I called about the warranty 2 times, no one called back. I got a call much later for a random check from one of their more senior managers who explained I can cancel it, so I did. I still paid for a few months that I used though, and I should have never had it in the first place. If you go to this place to buy a car, at least don't go for the oldest sleazy tricks that they use such as " let me go see what my boss has to say" haha, when they go smoke a cigarette in the back while you wait like a moron for the "boss's" ok. They pulled that on me. I am curious what other nifty little tricks they apply, really. As you can imagine, I am very unhappy with the whole experience. It is completely my fault that I was lazy enough to let these guys swindle me like that, but let this be your warning. Automall salesmen: I hope you choke on the whatever chump change you made on this from me bc I am bringing my family from overseas this year and together with my girlfriend we are in the market for 5 cars this year. Certainly no one I know will ever buy anything from you. But I am sure you will be alright, you crafty car salesmen you! Wink wink sleazeballs! read more

I highly recommend the professional staff at Performance Acura. I have taken both of my Acuras to Performance for service, trading In my 94 Legend in 2006 with 235,000 miles for a 06 TL. I actually priced work on my legend at another establishment but was able to get the same work done at a lower cost. I have enjoyed my relationship with Performance Acura for over 15 years and plan to continue for the foreseeable future. The entire buying process was top notch. I requested an appointment to look at a used car. David Ernteman called to help arrange an appointment for the next day. When I showed up, he was ready to show the car. There was no sales pressure, just a good discussion and test drive. After that, they let me take the car to my mechanic. After it received a clean bill of health, I was able to sit down and negotiate a price that was fair for both sides. It was the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. After purchase, David arranged for the car to be delivered to my house(an hour away) the next day. Like I said, my experience with David and the Performance Automall group was pleasant and professional. Everything they said and did was on the up and up. First of all worst business model. Who keeps Chevrolet, Subaru, BMW and Porsche service centers at one place? It's crazy, drove into the express service area.. Waited for 5 mins went inside, asked for help. One gentleman said that mr.x will help you. So came out and was waiting for few mins and. A guy shows up. Enquires about what needs to be done. He looks at the car and says so you need tire rotation? First of all Camaro 2SS doesn't need a tire rotation. Any Chevrolet employee can tell that. I "requested" for 27 point check up, top of all fluids, tire pressure to 36 psi, reset fuel indicator. Just the regular stuff that every showroom provides with oil change. Except for 27 point checkup nothing was provided. Highly disappointed and never again here. read more

This was my third time buying a car from a dealership. The first time, at a Honda place, I got taken and then some. The second time, at Toyota dealership in New Mexico, I had to spend a day in recovery after a negotiation so intense and theatrical that a small crowd had gathered to watch tiny me duke it out with an insanely aggressive linebacker-sized salesman (BTW, I won)....The third time, however, was a charm. Even though I likely purchased one of the least expensive cars on the lot (an older 4Runner that was a trade-in), Vincent McLeod treated me as if I were buying one of the new Porsches I'd so lovingly eyed when we drove in. This is how car buying should be. I didn't get talked down to. I didn't get overly pressured. I didn't have to fight for my dignity as a 'lady' car buyer. I had done an extensive amount of research on what my vehicle should bring as a trade and he respected both my knowledge and level of preparedness (tip to used car buyers: do your homework, put your research on your laptop, be prepared to pull it up and show it to them, be reasonable with what you want and be nice). The whole process was easy, civilized, and dare I say, even a little bit fun. There was a slight kink in the financing process (neither their fault nor mine), but I was able to return late the next afternoon and complete the deal. They didn't harass me via phone or text to 'hurry, hurry' before the car was gone. Instead, when I called Vincent to say everything was square and I was heading over, he simply said 'Take your time. Drive safe.' This was a great car buying experience. I'm happy with my vehicle. Happy with my trade. Happy with the way I was treated. Someday, when i get that Porsche, I'll be asking for Vincent. read more

Subaru Dealership in Chapel Hill,NC was recommended by an associate. The dealership owner is very reputable but apparently he's not aware of how his employees lack of "Integrity & Accountability At All Levels" as stated in their Corporate Core Values have been compromised. Initial contact with dealership sales rep was cordial as you would normally experience for wanting to "get" not gain your business. After the test drive and negotiations, agreed on purchase price and CUSTOM ORDER process was signed and initiated. Promise of VIN number would be provided in a couple of weeks from order entry. Never heard back from the John the sales rep. so I initiated the contact to find out the delay of providing a VIN number. Rep responded that one had not yet been provided and is checking into it "regularly." Twenty-eight (28) days had passed and NO update or contact from the dealer rep. Once again I sent an email requesting update. Rep responded within the body of my email that as soon as the vehicle was built, a VIN would show up and estimated arrival date would be forwarded to me. THIRTEEN WEEKS had passed from order placement without ANY correspondence update from the rep and was not at all pleased with his lack of communication. So I initiated contact once again and another email was sent clearly stating the timelines and displeasure of how this rep was representing the dealership (mind you this person is supposedly their Senior Sales Rep). All of a sudden, I get a call the same day I sent my last email stating that the vehicle I ORDERED arrived. So after 13-weeks, the vehicle arrives without warning. If the uncertainty of not knowing when a specifically custom ordered vehicle would arrive was not enough - here is the kicker: The sales rep calls back and informs me that the vehicle I ordered that had finally arrived is NOT as I specifically ordered. It has several more options installed which amounted to almost $2000.00 additional cost. Obviously they wanted me to pay for the additional options (classic bait and switch or maybe my vehicle was never ordered - imo). Waited thirteen weeks for an incorrectly configured car. Get this, they were focusing the blame on the Japanese manufacturing process - riiggghhht. Their apologies (Anna Manager/John the Sales Rep) were hardly sincere. The manager begins to inform me of her years of experience in this business blah,blah, blah. There was never a question about their CV, this whole issue boiled down to how these EXPERIENCED folks screwed the customer AND themselves. There is allot more to this "cluster ____" but I'll just leave it at that. Got my deposit back and have thus given my business to a deserving dealership. Mr. Hendrick, please clean house. This dealership is very unprofessional, and I would not recommend them to anybody! After driving an hour to see a specific used car, we were told it had just been sold. However, for the next two weeks, it was still advertised online. When I called to ask about it again, I was told that it was there. I set up an appointment to go see it the next day and was assured that I would be contacted if it was sold before then. After driving another hour the next day, we were told that it had sold AGAIN when we got there. I don't know if the car was ever even there. These people are either liars or just have no concept of customer service. Stay away!!!! read more

I think this is the worst auto dealership in the world. When we got our 2012 Honda, they ran my credit about 7 time without even letting me know which they forgot to mention to me at all. Repairs were done three days later than promised and when I went to pick up the car the battery was dead. Car was not vacuumed or washed as promised by State Farm (my insurance company). Everyone was very friendly, though, and they did email me every other day to let me know how the repair was progressing. read more

Hendrick, the used car sellers that are part of Performance Automall, lied to us and wasted our time. Most of the cars they advertise on their online site are not in the Chapel Hill location. They didn't have the car we were looking for in Chapel Hill, but the salesman, Carl, told us they would bring a specific car from Fayetteville that was listed on their site. We were pleased with this and told him we would be ready to buy as long as the car was okay. When it didn't come in and we didn't hear from him we called again and he again said it would be delivered and he would call us when it arrived. The next time we spoke he suddenly said he would not bring the car here unless we agreed to buy it first. Who would buy a used car without even seeing it first? They also completely refused to negotiate at all. They were expecting us to pay the full advertised price. They lied to us, wasted our time, and insulted our intelligence. I recently went to Performance Automall to test drive a car I found on their pre-owned inventory list online, with the intention of purchasing it from a private party. However, the overall experience and service that we received from Daniel Wuliger was so exceptional that I ended up purchasing my car from them. From the get-go, Daniel was so knowledgeable about their inventory and vehicles and answered all of our questions about the cars we were interested in. I ended up going back there multiple times, with requests to test-drive different cars, and each time, Daniel had the cars lined up in front and patiently went through the details and differences of each vehicle with me. He even let us get the car up on a lift so that my boyfriend could check out everything underneath the car before I bought it. Once I decided which one I wanted, the negotiation and financing process was so quick and simple. I got a very fair price on the first car I drove and afterwards Daniel went through the car with me to make sure everything on it was fixed and cleaned up before I took the car home. We visited several dealerships in the area during this process and Performance Automall and Daniel provided the best in terms of customer service and knowledge--we'll definitely be back when we're ready to purchase our next vehicle! read more

"Poor Performance". An absolute nightmare! My boyfriend bought a 2005 Chevy Silverado in January of 2015 and it has been nothing but trouble since he got it! This is his very first vehicle and was ecstatic to finally get his own but what a let down it was. The salesman said they replaced almost everything on the truck so it was "as good as new". The salesman also said they don't put on new tires without putting on new brakes. The tires were new, yes, but the brakes squealed so bad, it made you want to ride around with ear plugs. Obviously new brakes don't sqeak like that. Also, we noticed the serpentine belt was squeaking too. He said they replaced the belt as soon as they received the truck by the way. We kept getting the run around and kept getting told "they will take a look at it". Well after about the fourth time getting told that, I had enough and had a sit down with the sales man and said "looking" at it won't fix anything and that they should do something about it. The salesman looked like a deer in the headlights and talked to his manager. They gave us a $100 credit to get the brakes done but we still had to pay about $100 out of our pocket for their misleading. And today we took his truck in to get an oil change(because he gets 5 free oil changes, not because we WANT to go there) and noticed an hour later that his tire was flat. It could possibly not be performances fault but what are the chances right after taking it there? So I called and a lady answered and said the service department closed at 6:00 and that she would transfer me to someone who could help. She transferred me TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE NO ONE WAS THERE! My boyfriend bought the truck because they said almost everything was new but it was nothing but lies straight to our face just to make a profit. I will NEVER consider buying a car or referring anyone else to buy a car from Performance Auto. read more
