They were able to come out first thing the following morning to take a look at the situation, turned the water valves all the way on, and sent me a detailed quote while they were still there (unfortunately they initially sent it to a wrong number so someone has my personal data :/ ). Pricing was on the higher end of what I expected, and I was planning to get estimates from other companies that responded on Yelp to compare, so I let them know I would be in contact. Later that evening, I went back downstairs and noticed a leak coming from the main water valve, which was not leaking prior to the drain guys' visit. I immediately sent a message with a video via yelp, and the rep responded saying they would contact the plumber and get back to me. It's been almost 2 weeks and I still haven't heard back, which is interesting as they were so quick to respond when I was potentially giving them business, but ghosted me when I held them accountable for causing a leak. Thankfully, a plumber from another company that responded to my yelp project came by and was able to tighten the valve to stop the leaking. Turns out the drain guys plumber had loosened the entire pipe/valve when he turned the knob all the way on, so it was a simple fix but something that they should have looked out for in the moment. Had I waited for the drain guys to come back my basement would have been flooded. I'm utterly disappointed in their lack of accountability and communication, and have no trust in their services if they were able to let me down on such a small matter.

He verbally quoted me a ballpark estimate to fix the issue but also gave me step-by-step instructions to troubleshoot & resolve the issue in case it was something very minor. Turns out it was and I was able to clear up this issue with Dan's help over the phone. Side note: turns out I did hire Lyons in the past for an issues with our bathroom plumbing in which they did a phenomenal job, were very punctual & communicative, and were reasonably priced. I also learned about some mistakes I made in trying to DIY the issue. Seems like the whole Lyons team are not only pros at their trade but also great teachers who are genuinely there to help. Giving 5 stars for Dan's professionalism, ability to detect my sense of urgency (a little desperation too, probably), and willingness to help a customer even if didn't help his bottom line. Honestly not sure how Lyons stacks up compared to their competitors on price alone, but my bet is that they're second to none in quality work and professionalism. The guy came out, don't want to name the plumber, sent me an estimate literally 5 minutes after leaving the house. The estimate was for almost $5000 to replace the hot water heater and another $4500+ to repair/replace the leaky pipes for a total of almost $9500. Ridiculously laughable. I was able to get the job done for $1200 total by a licensed independent plumber. I didn't need the HW heater to be replaced. They just had to remove some HVAC ductwork to get to the leaky pipes, which they put everything back after replacing pipes. Do Not use Mallick I would consider them to be untrustworthy, and total rip off. Always get at least 3 estimates just make sure they are licensed. I still ended paying $99 for Mallick because they have a policy you pay $99 for estimate but gets added to the total if you get the work done. Again, ripoff. I also got an estimate from FH Furr that was significantly lower than Mallick but they were unwilling to remove ducts that they didn't install. Another ridiculous policy by another large plumbing company even though their plumber said they would have to involve the HVAC department. Maybe their plumbers don't know company policy. These guys didn't charge for an estimate. My recommendation is DO NOT use Mallick and even DO NOT use FH Furr.

I called HEIL Plumbing when they opened at 07:30 hrs. I got a return call from Allison within 1 hour. She was able to schedule Eric (the younger) to come out the same day between 09:00 hrs and 13:00 hrs. Eric arrived at approximately 09:20 hrs. Eric quickly diagnosed the issue. This time, while he was running diagnostic checks to identify the issue, fortunately, the toilet clog cleared itself. He ran the check a number of times , including running the sink cold water to try to overload the waste line with water, to make sure that the clogged toilet was no longer an issue. Once he was satisfied that all was good, he let me know that the charge for today would be the general diagniostic charge of $95.00. Again, I was extremely satisfied with the entire process, from making an appointment, to Eric's arrival time, his pleasant demeanor and his professional knowledge. I would highly recomment Eric (the younger) with HEIL Plumbing for anyone who has a residential plumbing issue that they need to have addressed by a pleasant, knowledgeable professional.

They are professional, punctual, knowledgeable and do good quality work. I very much respect the…read moretechnician, but the problem appears to lie with the company's practices and fees. The main problem and downside is that they are very expensive and overcharge. Despite the Yelp page saying that the company provides a "free estimate", I was quoted $49 for the technician to travel. In addition, if I had not chosen to go ahead with the repair, the company would have charged me an additional $150 diagnostic fee. Essentially, despite the yelp profile stating a "free estimate", it will cost you closer to $200 to get a quote. I see this as false advertisement. In addition, when the technician concluded that the problem was the capacitor, I received a final quote of $600. When I googled the price of the same capacitor online, the price range was in between 75$ - 150$. Essentially, they are charging a premium of at least $450 per replacement for a single part (capacitor). Despite their professionalism and quality work, I do not recommend this company for the reasons stated above. If price is not a concern for you, and you would rather pay twice the market value for a job then you should definitely choose them. EDIT: I actually googled the price of a capacitor and offered to buy my own. I was told that by the technician that if I purchased my own capacitor that the company would not install it. In conclusion, they did not address any of my concerns. Unfortunately, after reading the other bad reviews, there seems to be a consistent pattern of discrepancies between what they tell customers and what they instruct technicians to say on site. Making an honest living is so much more rewarding than making it dishonest living.
