I am writing this review for James from Excellent Pool Service because he came to my home to fix someone else's crappy work and install a new pump that I had purchased from another pool service guy back in September. The other guy ghosted me and never installed it. Even though James doesn't service my area, he came to my home as a favor to help make things right with my pool equipment. I'm so happy James agreed to come by. James worked fast, efficiently, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. He installed the new pool pump, fixed the previous piping, and even painted everything so it looked nice. His fees were reasonable, he explained everything to me, and since he doesn't service my area he provided a recommendation for someone he trusts that can provide regular service and future repairs. I cannot thank James enough for his extensive knowledge and professional service. I feel relieved that I finally got an installation/repair worthy of a positive review. I highly recommend James at Excellent Pool Service to anyone who needs repairs. My pool pump area looks so much better because it was repaired by a true professional who actually cares about his work, his reputation, and the reputation of the pool industry as a whole. The pool industry needs major work in repairing its reputation because of people who do terrible work and those who take advantage of people like me who do not have a lot of knowledge about their pools, but James gave me hope that this industry does have really good people who care about doing what is right. We saw a referral for Larry in our community bulletin and gave him a call. He came and gave the system a complete check up and then explained and trained my husband on the equipment. My husband maintained it after that - but we did have Larry back to do a tune up and clean the filters around 6 mos later. Then my husband had a double subdural hematoma. He was in and out of the hospital and rehab for months. I had friends helping me to maintain the pool - definitely NOT my wheelhouse. Husband was finally getting ready to come home and the pool wasn't looking so good. I called Larry back over to come help me out, get it back in shape before husband could see it. He did a wonderful job - as he always does - and refused to let me pay him under the circumstances. Who does that - talk about caring people!! I did finally get him to take some money and on the spot, I asked him to put us into regular service because I knew it would be a long time, if ever, before my husband would be able to do it again. It continues to be pristine. Larry, his family and team are amazing - we will never change service. They are a family owned company that has high standards for quality of work, reliability and fair pricing. I don't know when I have ever dealt with a company with so much integrity. An estimate was given to me and I was pleased. I changed pool service companies as I found the prior company was not communicating and at times didn't know what they were doing.
