I appreciated that he took the time to listen to my concerns instead of simply rushing to the basement to look at the furnace. Reynolds was the second company to look at my system and give me an estimate. The first company didn't even treat repair as a serious option. Even though I was 100% convinced when Reynolds came to the door that I would replace the system, Bob took the time to call a supplier in town, and he told me that repair would be possible for $300 (the other company threw out a figure of $800 and said the part might not even be available). I still decided to go with a full system repair due to the age of the furnace, but I didn't feel pressured at all. The furnace was installed within the week. I called the company an additional time for an electrical issue unrelated to the furnace and received prompt service as well. I doubt I'll have any problems with the new system, but if I would have a break down for some reason on a cold wintry day, this is a company I will be glad to have on my side.

As soon as I called Old Line, Jennifer answered and was happy to help me. Appointment was scheduled on a Monday and James, the owner, was here Wednesday. Unfortunately, this was no easy fix and the hvac needed to be replaced. I suffer from a form of inflammatory arthritis that is exacerbated by the heat and would be without ac for a week or more. Do you know what James said? "I've got some window units that I'll bring by so you'll be comfortable until I can get back to install the new system". Within 45 minutes of James leaving my home, there's a knock at the door. It's Jennifer with the 2 window units. Wow, just wow!! Who does that? No large corporate hvac company would've done that. Talk about above and beyond and making us feel like family. I felt as if I had known James for years. Personable, honest, reliable and above all a wonderful human being! Carl was incredible but I believe I have found an awesome replacement. After much research and reading reviews online and talking to close friends I decided to call Comfort Aire. Tracy had a technician out the same day and it was running within an hour of arrival. Unfortunately, because of circumstances outside of my control, the fix would only be temporary and the unit would need to be replaced. Matt, the owner, came out personally to meet with me and give me a quote. He listened to what I wanted and tailored the replacement to the best fit for the situation and budget. While onsite I ask for quote to install a mini-split in our 3-season room. Long story short the mini- split was replaced on a Thursday and the house system replaced the next Monday. Besides the pricing, quality of work and good communication from the office the one thing that impressed me the most was the technicians. In the course of the work and repair I had four technicians involved. Everyone of them was professional, polite and cared about giving the customer an excellent job. They all spoke highly of Comfort Aire and all the folks they work with. A very positive environment. I highly recommend Comfort Aire.

Air condition needed repairs after it was struck by lightning…read more The tech did a great job July 1, 2025 and the office was responsive up until I made the payment on my credit card that same day it was repaired. I originally todo the tech I didnt need a receipt but decided I was going to submit yo my insurance company. The company ghosted me. After about 10 calls and 5 emails and also contacting through the website, I still have gotten a response. well they did send me an email with a line that said service call and $0 on it. I needed them to list the products that were replaced with the total. They can put paid and $0 owed if they want. all of this and it's 3 weeks later. i even drove to the address on their website and it's a corner lot with no building. The open 24 hrs a day is an answering service that you will never be able to speak with someone that can help you. They said they would label it as urgent. Even that doesn't help.

I sent pictures and never heard back. After a few follow up phone calls and promises that a quote would be coming...it's over a week later and still no quote. I hired S A Way Plumbing and Heating and did the job same day and took a little over 2 hours. I got a quote from Brubaker Plumbing and they said it would take two days...at least $1,000. S A Way Plumbing and Heating charged $95 hour. You do the math!

Buyer Beware. I had a couple plumbing issues pop up, nothing too major. I went online to find a…read moreplumber, figured I'd look small & local. I asked for a quote from Snyder's, they came back with $650-$750, which to me was a bit high, but I figured $750 was worst case scenario. Longer story shorter, I got invoiced for $983. "If it's going to cost more, we'll let you know beforehand". That never happened. I contacted another contractor who said there's no way that job should have cost as much as I was invoiced. Now they did have to come back a second time because my out-of-the-box pump failed and needed to be replaced. Ok, I get that, 2nd trip needed, but an original 2-3 hour job, I got billed 4.5 hrs. Ok, I can let that go because of the 2nd trip. But where I took issue was the materials charge. I looked at the parts list and decided to check prices thru Home Depot & Lowes. It added up to right around $150. I got charged $465 for materials. Now if my price is $150 from a big box store, what do you think Snyder's is getting charged as an in-industry business who bought from a supply house? So their markup is over 300%? That's BS. Plus I was charged for 2 10' pcs of pipe where they only needed 1'. Think they threw the other 9' away? So I called them on these prices, got a response (eventually), and here we are. I paid their bill, but it doesn't mean I'm not going to speak caution for the next unsuspecting person looking for plumbing services. While their face-to-face interactions were fine, it's the business practices and after-the-fact pricing that has me writing this negative review. Save me the do-it-yourself diatribe, there was no way that was a $983 job. There's reasonableness, and then there's price gouging. You decided to go for the money, so you got your money, but I'll be sure to let people know to look elsewhere. Reputations and word-of-mouth still mean something in a small town.
