Received our quote next day with recommendation. Going to try trench-less repair and worse case scenario. Had to wait till Monday for local/state to come and mark the property for digging protocol. Tuesday they were here early AM. Found kinks in line, can't run the trench-less. Worse case scenario. By the afternoon, water back on. The digging only left a small imprint on the lawn. Received our bill a few days later. Under budgeted quote. (Slightly). But under quote after worse case scenario = Priceless. Great job and Thsn you! In June we were unfortunate enough to experience a sewer break in the wall between our second floor…read moreand basement. As you can imagine it was a mess with sewage on the floor and seeping into our neighbor's house, not to mention expensive. Pray to the plumbing Gods that this never happens to you! Many years ago I worked for a plumbing company so I knew right off the bat this would be thousands to repair. With my go to (Ranck's Plumbing) no longer in business I had no choice but to seek a new plumber, one that had a sewer camera, and could come right away. An online search of plumbers with cameras yielded very few results in my area. I called a few and left messages. Ober's was a company I found on Yelp for having good & honest reviews and they were local which was a huge plus. I took a chance on them having a camera and was thankful that they did. Jerry, the owner was awesome! He even came to my house for a free consult to make sure he could run the camera before he sent his crew over - that was much appreciated! My house is almost 100 years old so there was some fear of the unknown. At the free consult he spent a considerable amount of time exploring possible scenarios and discussing options. Jerry is very hands on and explains things in a way you can understand without judgement. Once he determined the camera could be ran I provided the key and returned to work. Jerry and his crew did the rest. Within hours I had a verbal quote. Was it expensive? Yes, spending a few thousand for something you can't see is alot of money, but sewer is a necessity. Although I don't have anything to compare it to other than my experience in this field many years ago I do feel his price was fair and most likely considerably less than what larger firms would charge for the same scale of work. I especially liked that Jerry understood that I wanted the least invasive option available and was sensitive to my request not rip out my newer kitchen to gain access. To save money hubby did some of the demo with Jerry's instruction. Since we're talking about a considerable amount of money I didn't feel comfortable with a verbal quote alone. However once I requested one in writing Jerry provided one the next day in great detail. The work took a few days to complete, and a few days till they could start due to some issues with our insurance adjuster. During that time-period Jerry was always accessible, answered all of our questions, and took our many phone calls without issue or attitude. Once the insurance adjuster was out of the way he was prompt to get us on the schedule so we could have use of our facilities again. The work was completed as promised and my house was left in satisfactory condition. While they did comply with my request to lock up daily, a light was left on the first day. So why 4 stars instead of 5? I always feel a little uncomfortable asking for something that I feel should be standard (in this case a written quote). They do things old school so they couldn't email the quote but were able to fax it. The price of running the camera is expensive and it's standard procedure to record the process to show the homeowner exactly what the problem is. While they do have the camera they don't use the video and didn't relay this to me until I asked. While I'm so thankful for Jerry and his team and to have this experience in my rear view window I would/will use Ober's again and would happily recommend him to anyone seeking an honest, fair, local, knowledge plumber.

I called Stoudt's first thing Monday morning and they were at my house within 45 minutes. They quickly found the problem and gave me several options to choose from. Due to the age of my heater, it made more sense for me to replace it. Within 3 hours they came to my house, went and picked up a new water heater, and had it installed - all for a fraction of the price I was expecting! They did such great work that I had them work on an estimate for a HVAC project we were looking at doing. The installers were respectable, polite, and truly seemed to care as much about the customer as they did the work they were performing. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This was the first problem in the 2 years I've had it. They filled it, I paid them and they left. A few days later it stopped cooling again. Again they came out but finally found a leak. Said the part was covered by warranty and they would order it. I didn't hear at all from them for about 4 days. Finally, I called and Jeff said the part would be here on Friday. Friday came and went. Monday came and went. No call. Again, I call Jeff and am told the part was shipped to the wrong location and it will take until Friday to get it from Mechanicsburg to the office here. It was 3 days from then. Again, Friday came and went. No communication and no answer to two calls. Set up appointments to have it repaired and no show each time. Finally answered my calls and told me his grandson was born and he was busy. 5 days he could have at least called or texted. I would have been happy to wait had I been told. Finally came out today. Late and no call. I called and was told they were on the way and they had to wait until the rain stopped. No problem. Call me and tell me. I understand there are things that are out of his control. Today they got it fixed. Replaced the coil which was covered under warranty. $610. $585 was the labor charge for two hours. Even if the last visit was included it would be a total of 3 hours or so. I cannot recommend and actually discourage people from using Stoudts plumbing.
