I wouldn't have known from the exterior that this juice bar and health bowl spot was so spacious inside! They even have a backyard which I'm assuming gets converted into a patio in the warmer weather. There was counter seating in the front of the restaurant and tables near the back in a minimalistic yet colourful place. K ordered the Green Ranger smoothie which turned out to be so delicious! It had spinach, kale, spirulina, mango, pineapple, lemon, dates, almond mylk topped with hemp seeds. It was a rich lush green on colour and so thick. I liked how the server brought out the drinks to us. It was one of the best tasting green smoothies I've had. Because of it was so thick, it was also quite substantial in portion. The hemp seeds were chewy and a good mix to the smoothie. K also got an Espresso. I liked the presentation of it. We spent some time here using their wifi which was fast and reliable according to K. It was definitely a cool casual spot for drinks or an acai bowl for a small group to hang out in or for solo quiet work. I'm glad we stumbled upon this little organic pulp and grind spot!

When I think back on my work trip to Ottawa, the meal I will remember most fondly is the avocado toast I had here. It was hearty, flavorful, and covered in feta cheese. Scrump! The blueberry oat pancakes were also divine - a very indulgent breakfast served with REAL maple syrup. The service was off-the-charts NICE! The hostess and waiters were smiley and the just the right level of attentive. I felt like a very metropolitan corporate woman as I cracked open my laptop to "get some work done" - but I was seated right up against a window and couldn't resist the distraction of watching the snow fall from the winter sky while sipping cup after cup of hot coffee. Daly's was a delight on every count.

Our server was friendly, and she also gave great advice on the menu and portion sizes. I ordered the Eggs Benedict (a staple for me whenever it's on a menu) and it was delicious. It's a pretty big portion, so come hungry! The ambiance is nothing special, though we did get to sit by the window so we had a nice view of the canal. Prices also seemed reasonable for a hotel breakfast spot. There's nothing special about this place necessarily, but it is a great breakfast spot if you're staying at the hotel!

My favorite bubble tea shop in Ottawa!…read more Just be warned that their "regular sweet" is less sweet than most other bubble tea shops (coming from a 100% sweetness girly). Their food is so good! I tried the sushi next door (in the same shop) and it was decent, but the food at Pomelo Hat is very yummy! The pokè bowl with the sesame sauce is amazing! The dumplings were okay but the siu mai was so good! Can't wait to try their sandwiches next. Try to take a picture of all their promotions so you can get a good deal. One of the current ones is 10% off if you order online for pick up. The guy that is always working when I go is so super nice. I was alone at lunchtime and this couple took up the seating area so I just stood waiting for my food. He comes from the back and grabs me a chair to sit on while I waited. So kind!

This place has the most fascinating mixture of items on the menu to order from. It offers bubble tea. You can also get dim sum, which includes dumplings, har gow, siu mai, steamed custard buns, and spring rolls. In other words, it caters to folks like me who crave all these items all the time. The menu also offers sushi rice bowls. I don't know if it's exclusively Pomelo Hat offerings or if it's under Kiramaki's menu. Kiramaki Sushi shares the same space with Pomelo Hat. This store truly has everything I want and love. It's awesome. Here's the best part. Pomelo Hat has sparkling butterfly pea spritzer. OMG! I absolutely love drinks with bubbles. I didn't have to look any further. I got the tropical sunset butterfly pea sparkling spritzer with coconut jelly. Starbucks, eat your heart out with that drink name! My drink came in one size: large. I got it with less ice and no sugar (it's called minimal sweet here). My friend was kind to take me here, so the least that I could do was get the tab on her bubble tea. She chose a regular strawberry green tea QQ. She could have ordered every topping available on the menu, but she had composure and didn't break my bank. It's funny. I was so into taking photos of my drink with the various plant backdrops at this place that I completely forgot about my bag that I had left here. Oops! Luckily, we were only a few blocks away and nobody wanted my stuff. Technically, we dropped by twice this day. There is bar seating by the window. It's a fairly small space that it's more of a fetch-and-go place. We continued taking photos of our drinks outside. We then walked, sat, and chatted. My drink was so good. It was bubbly and cheerful. It had a cantaloupe base with a subtle sweetness to it. The coconut jelly provided a nice chewy contrast. My drink was so good and perfect on a hot summer day. My friend enjoyed her drink. With QQ drinks, they come with tapioca and your choice of any jelly. I thought that the flexibility was nice. We tend to take our bubble tea the same way, so she went no sugar and less ice, too. I never got around to coming back to try the dim sum. I had been craving dumplings during my vacation and other establishments that I had frequented satisfied that ongoing want. I'll need to come back here and give its all-day dim sum menu a try. This place is on Fantuan. I hope it still is when I come back for more. I loved my bubble tea. I have the lychee rose lemonade sparkling butterfly pea spritzer left to try before I branch into the non-sparkling teas. (264)

If you're a fan of sushi, you'll probably end up being a fan of this as well. I went with some friends and we each picked up our own bowls. They worked through the line quite quickly but there's not a lot of room to sit for to their seats being right where the line is with the exception of those at the window. For the price of the poke bowl (I did the make your own), it lacked protein and they lacked generosity when it came to toppings. The presentation was nice but I felt very limited in the amount of toppings I could have in my bowl as well as they were stingy. For example, I wanted daikon & she counted 4 pieces for my bowl! Lots of rice so it'll fill you up. Unsure whether I'll come back since it was very delicious but slightly over priced..

But, when I got hit on the hand by the metal pole of their flying patio umbrella (not bolted down or affixed to their patio table), I was dismissed ('there's nothing wrong with your hand') & told to just google their information because they don't have a business card, there's no manager or person in charge on the premises yet there were 3 women from the café who avoided my request for contact information. They did offer ice in a bag BUT only after much insisting that I'd like to speak to someone in charge of the café. Again, I was dismissed and told that there's no responsibility to be had because it was an accident and that I should leave the premises because I was causing a scene since I ended up crying because my hand was hurting. The security camera of the Byward Market building across the street caught the whole hit incident (June 16).
