I did six weeks with Manuk training me and I would have done the entire summer but I had to leave the area due to a job contract ending. I'm so glad I did this because now I can go to the gym with confidence and I'm excited to go and continue. Also, I was doing a lot of things incorrectly and was wasting time and possibly risking an injury. Lastly, after only six weeks I saw a significant difference and people were commenting on it. Because I'm a female I kind of wanted a female trainer but Manuk was a great fit because he trains every age and body type and he's very jovial and also sent regular reminders and tips and encouragement. He knew so much about training and physiology that he debunked some myths I'd been carrying around for years. I definitely recommend him. I had full access to the gym outside of training and it was a nice, private feeling gym but with every imaginable piece of equipment and people had great attitude there. I was very comfortable and happy I had chosen Manuk.

My plan was to take one month of private sessions and then return to my old gym and my previous routine. Instead, Jay has found a loyal client and I have found myself in the best physical condition I've been in since my twenties. Jay is knowledgable, intuitive, and determined to see his clients reach their goals. He methodically prepared me for each new step, not allowing me to move further until I was ready. We discussed nutrition and worked out my diet. Fortunately for me, Jay was relentless. Today I am strong and flexible, and my posture has improved significantly. I have met my initial fitness goal - give or take a few tweaks. Although I arrived with years of training and book knowledge, I had never managed to put it all together until now. And, I have not experienced any of the elbow or joint issues I'd experienced in my past training. I've tried it all, spinning, hot yoga, F45, Training Mate, Orangetheory, Barry's, Pilates. But Heavy Lifting, 3-4 days a week is where it's at. No matter what your fitness goals are. And not, it won't make you "bulky" whatever that means. What do I love about this gym, let me count the ways: 1. Semi-private, members only. Keeps the class sizes very small and you get to know the trainers and your classmates. Love the flat fee, monthly pricing for unlimited classes with no minimum commitment. It's hassle free and there's no hard sell to upgrade your class packages or gimmicky sales techniques. Also, fosters a sense of community. 2. The programming. It's such a luxury not to have to think or plan your workouts. We are all suffering from decision fatigue and it's so luxurious not to think. Just leave it up to the professionals and follow instructions and your body will change. 3. The facility - Everybody gets their own squat rack and bench for the hour. No sharing equipment. Everything is clean and wiped down before and after each class. I'm a germaphobe and I truly appreciate not sitting in a pool of a stranger's DNA. It's clean, lovely and there's towel service. 4. Time - Our most precious, non-renewable resource. I love getting a full body workout in an hour. No waiting around for shared equipment. There are so many classes all day to choose from at four different locations throughout the city. 5. The community - The trainers and the other clients are by far, the kindest and most supportive around. An ego-free, a-hole free, judgment-free safe space for all levels of lifters and all ages. Lifting can be intimidating, but anybody and everybody can do it.
