I was looking for a place to have my bridesmaid and Mother's hair done for my wedding. We came to…read moreSandra's salon to inquire about pricing and set up a date and time. She gave us a quote which we were ok with, the day of the wedding she increased the price 3 different times for my bridesmaid. She also must've believed she didn't speak Spanish because she kept complaining about how much more she should be charging. I had told my bridesmaids it's fine just pay it cuz I needed her hair done for the wedding day. I would've been fine with it but shortly after my BM got to our apartment which is a block away from Sandra's, her hair was puffy and the curls were flat. Horrible service on the wedding day. Had I known her service and professionalism was that bad I would've not booked her. I had to get someone else fix her hair and that time around the hair lasted all night and looked much better.

DO NOT GO HERE! I need to share my experience with this salon and the manager today to warn others…read morehow I was scammed today. My entire family has gone to Hair IB for keratin treatment over the past 10 years. This was because we liked the previous owner and service we received when the location was on 16330 northern blvd. However, about 5 years ago they moved to new management - Esther. She is a very unprofessional business owner. She always has a very condescending attitude. Every time I leave my appointment, I would always say "this is the last time I go here" but continued to go because I simply didn't want to bother finding a new salon. However, today was the final straw for me and my entire family. I was quoted $300-325 for a root touchup over text message by her prior to my appointment because she said they have on record that I have thick hair so my price would be more than the average customer (a $75 increase from my last appointment). I said okay as I understand that prices go up year over year. When I arrived today, she informed me that actually my price would be $400. This was a 60% increase from my last appointment, not to mention, I requested only 1in of my hair be treated instead of the full root touchups. 1in of hair is $400. This bait and switch on pricing is completely unethical and poor business management, especially after being a loyal customer for so long. Once she had me on the salon, she knew she could charge me whatever she wanted. When she initially quoted me $300 - $325, she knew exactly who I was and what type of her I have, as I have been there many times in the past and she even has her notes about me on file - there were no unknowns about the service. I took PTO from my job for this appointment and sat in 3 hours of traffic thinking my price would be $300-$325 as quoted. Not to mention, the keratin treatment does not last more than a month because she rushes through the process and straightens hair in huge pieces, missing a lot of hair in the process, just so she can take as many customers as possible. Others should be warned of the unprofessionalism of Esther and should take their services elsewhere. It is simply not worth the aggravation and stress!

I called the day of to schedule an appointment for the same day which I was happy to get. I arrived early to check in and wait for my scheduled time, rather than let me wait one of the staff members starts to wash my hair and gets me seated at one of the stations. So far being there I noticed how clean everything was and how the staff were wearing their masks and keeping a safe distance. The hairstylist Edel introduced herself and i was happy that the staff informed her that all i wanted was a trim, blowdry and flat iron. I hate going to places and they cut more than what you ask for do something that you didn't want with Edel that was not the case. She slowly cut the tips and showed me what she was cutting. After that she blow dried my hair so straight that I could've asked her not to flat iron but I enjoyed the work that she was doing. Staff: was very welcoming, warming and professional. They informed me that they do keratin which i will call and schedule next. Environment: Very clean, good music, friendly staff and customers. Result: My hair felt great and better than I expected. Definitely need to go back soon as my hair will thank me for it .

Atmosphere: There is one flight of steep stairs leading up to the entrance, with approximately 10-15 steps. The place is well-maintained, with clean floors/chairs, and comfortable/clear lighting. There are more than 5 seats available and an ottoman for waiters. Wait time: I went Sunday evening at 6PM and there was no one else there. I was seated right away. COVID: No temperature checks or plexiglass set up, but all 3 workers there were wearing masks. Service: The owner was polite and greeted me as I walked in. I requested a haircut, she told me the price, then directed me to sit and assigned a hairdresser my way. The hairdresser that took care of me was nice and friendly. She did not try to make small talk with me, but that's completely fine. It was a relaxing experience. When I showed her pictures, the owner was attentive and came over to make sure she understood exactly what I wanted before the cut. I don't believe the staff besides the owner speaks much English. Cut: The handwork was professional, she knew what she was doing. She used multiple scissors/clippers and wasn't aggressive. It did not take very long, maybe about 30 minutes. She took her time to make sure the layering and shaping up was perfect. She asked me if I wanted a wash and/or hair gel after. It came out looking like the pictures I showed her. Surprisingly, she cut my hair exactly how I want it (I usually have to mention to barbers to cut it shorter or round off the edges). It seems like she knew what "look" would fit me best the first time she saw me and I was impressed. When I went home and checked in the mirror, there were a few stray long hairs left near my ears (probably because of the mask). This didn't bother me much since it's not that uncommon with other barbers. Not saying it was the best haircut I've ever had but I would come back here.
