I found this place by pure accident and it has been such a breath of fresh air. The owner Sincede is such a warm and welcoming woman. She makes you feel right at home. The salon is so cozy and very zen. You feel very relaxed from start to end. I had my color done the first time and it was beautiful. I have gone back twice for a root touch up and I am always smiling when I leave. The prices are so reasonable and you don't feel like your spending a fortune to look good. I went to Sincede Hair Salon on a whim (about a month ago). Yelp, I don't know if I can trust you anymore. This salon has 5 stars. I don't understand why. Maybe the people who have gotten their hair done here have NO IDEA how real salons function/REAL hairstylists cut hair? I don't know. Let's get started! I desperately needed a haircut (more like a trim) since I noticed that my hair had become significantly thinner due to me stressing out during my last semester in school. Just needed the layers cleaned up, a fresh side bang cut, and a light trim. Nothing complicated. The salon itself is very small. There is barely enough space for 10 people. Cramped, cluttered, and just too much. There is only one hairstylist there - Sincede, and her assistant Maria. I walked in, got stared at, had nowhere to sit. FINE. The salon boasts "ALL ORGANIC" but yeah. Which "organic" products are you using? Can you elaborate on that? Nope. Just because you hang a sign up that says you use organic products doesn't mean anything. The hair washing was totally basic. Water running down my neck, into my ears - YAY! I could've washed my hair at home and done better. When it came time for me to sit in the chair for Sincede to proceed with my haircut experience, it went from mediocre to just GARBAGE. -Sincede interrupted me multiple times to do other peoples hair/talk on the phone/talk to people in the salon, while I was giving her a DETAILED description of exactly what I wanted. -I told Sincede that my hair had lost volume and seemed thin due to stress. I told her that I wanted volume. MULTIPLE TIMES!! _ SHE CUT MY HAIR WITH A RAZOR COMB. Anyone who knows anything about going to salons for haircuts knows that RAZOR COMBS THIN HAIR. ITS FOR THINNING PURPOSES. ISN'T THAT EXACTLY WHAT I TOLD YOU I DIDN't WANT? - The haircut itself was all of 10 minutes. And I think she used a razor to save time on my haircut to spend more time on her older clientele. - I wanted a tight roller set. She barely put anything in my hair, which was practically dry when she was rolling it. Used large rollers despite me telling her I wanted smaller tight curls *_* == I would say that it was a crap experience but I didn't realize how crap it was until I got home === * The bangs were just botched. It looked like I cut them myself while blindfolded. I've been using bobby pins to just pin them back because I can't blow them out because THEY LOOK TERRIBLE. * The RAZOR comb totally thinned my hair out even more than I had thought. I feel like I have 7 strands of hair on my head. * THE HAIRCUT WAS UNEVEN. I had a few hairs that were significantly longer than the rest of my hair. IT LOOKED SO STUPID. She clearly rushed and didn't give a fck about my haircut and making sure it was an even haircut. I will not return to Sincede. Not even for a wash & set. Though it was cheap, I wasn't happy with my haircut at all. I felt rushed and Sincede clearly did not listen to me. I called her 2 days later to tell her my haircut was uneven and I wanted her to fix my bangs - she totally brushed me off like it wasn't a big deal. You messed up my hair and you should fix it, as I paid for your services. Observations: Sincede did a blow out on a customer - I've never seen someone pull hair from the middle of your head to start a blow out. She was just trying to rush the blowout. She also did highlights on another customer - she obviously left the bleach on too long because the hair was WHITE. That's not what highlights look like. SORRY but MY HAIR IS A BIG DEAL. You should aim to please the customer. I will NOT return to Sincede Hair Studio even if I was being paid to. It was pretty clear to me why mostly old ladies go there to do their hair. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

This is my new go-to hair salon. All the stylists are extremely nice and personable, and you can tell that they truly care about their work. I have many issues with my hair and the stylists always ask me questions and try to come up with proper recommendations. I love how the neighborhood peeps always drop by to say hi, the salon gives off good vibes all around. A major plus is that the products are all organic, which is perfect for my fine, easily damaged hair. I usually go for the organic keratin treatment which smooths and defrizzes, but I'm thinking to try organic coloring next time around. I had to get my hair color fixed at another salon . I've been here a few times and i must say every experience was good. I have greasy hair and they had washed my hair exceptionally well. My hair waited 3 days to be greasy, which is great considering my hair is usually greasy the next day after my wash. They did a nice cut and a good blow out. I would definitely come again to see how they would curl my hair. I think for a lot of people who have bad experience perhaps they didn't communicate well or they didn't tell them exactly what they wanted. I don't see anything wrong with this place and they do use organic which is plus. read more

Wow! This place is AMAZING! I am so glad I found this place! The staff is so friendly and open- I immediately felt welcomed and really comfortable! My experience started with me being introduced to everyone there and a consultation by my stylist and Sincede herself! I received really genuine and educated advice on what to do with my hair and how to keep it healthy. I loved the vibe here- everything from the real and down to earth staff to the decor and music was so perfect and inviting! My hair has never felt better. I only got a trim and some color, but it was the best trim and color of my life! My hair feels so silky smooth and the health that my stylist put back into my hair is long-lasting. Even after walking around in the heat/humdity and then washing it again, my hair feels and looks amazing! My stylist was so fast, even with my long and thick hair! You can tell the stylists here are very educated in the industry and love what they do! I cannot even do this salon justice through this review. It is extraordinary. Wonderful, cozy salon in Ozone Park. I've lived in the area for a short while and finally decided to give this place a try for my long hair. I've gone to salons in Manhattan and Queens and really felt good when I walked in. It is small but very accommodating and everyone is nice. It was a wash, trim and blowout. They took my appointment the day before for the morning and I waited a very short time to get started. It also took a short time to get cut and blown out. I like the products they use to wash hair. My hair is not dyed or treated in any way and after Sincede cut it, it looked great. The prices are very affordable but you get very good service. Instead of angled it was choppy (longer is some spots than others). So excited! I found a local spot that is so inviting and good at what they do! The place is small but so cozy! Well decorated! Outside they had a bench and drinks for passerbys, so cute! Ok about the wash, cut and dry: Janice was my hairstylist and she did great! We had a great conversation and she layered my hair and cut my bangs. She told.me the products they use there are all organic. I also love that they did a breast cancer walk last week at the shop! So after 20 years of the same haircutter she just up and disappeared. Having difficult hair is hard enough but to get used to someone for all that time and then be without them is a serious challenge to face. I have known Sincede for quite some time but never thought about her doing my hair because I was so comfortable in my situation. Never did I dream I would have to make other considerations. After much procrastination and hesitancy, I made the call. To begin with Sincede recognized immediately that I appreciate privacy and offered to open the shop for me on her day off. I can assure you what I have to say about my hair has nothing to do with the favor she extended me. Simply put, it's the best color and cut I have had in as long as I can remember. Her knowledge about hair is immediately obvious and evidenced in the cut and the color. She uses quality products and the salon, while not pretentious, is comfortable and very relaxed. To me recommending someone to do your hair is on the same parr as recommending a medical professional. Let's face it, a bad haircut can send you into a downward spiral. Basically you can trust this woman with your hair no matter what condition it's in or what your problem is. By the way, not only was the outcome better than I could have dreamed of, the price was less than half of what I'm used to paying. I don't know if ever in my life there has been a better example of the old saying "when one door closes, another one opens." Of course when they saw the groupon they said they can't do all of the services the groupon offered and told me they will charge me an extra $50. So why did you advertise it on the groupon? I went in for a perm, at the time I had good, thick long hair. I have never had a problem in the past with perms, until I sat down in the chair. A month later I have no curls, bad hair cut and A BALD SPOT on the side of my head. My hair is untamed, wild no curls and a bold spot.
