They said it's past the 30 days so I'm not allowed to return them. I asked if they can make an exception because I've been too busy to come in. They said absolutely not, they have a strict rule about returns now. I said can I please just exchange them for a different size or do a gift card instead? They said no. So now I'm stuck with jeans that don't fit and I only missed the 30 day return window by a week or so. I've bought so many things from Madewell over the years but I won't anymore since they can't even try to be accommodating.

Imagine my surprise when I opened a subsequent statement and there was a balance for the late fee and late fees for the late fee! What??? So I called CS again who at first told me there was nothing they could do, but then later in the call told me they could waive only $15 of the $31 fee. I said fine, I would like to pay that off now. Oh wait, they said, it is a $9 fee to pay it over the phone. Hold my beer while I pay it online I said. So I pay the new fee online, but the credit won't show for three days, and I tell them to cancel my card. She says she cancelled it but I see no confirmation of that in the account and she refuses to send me a confirmation email. Protocol, she says, is I have to just believe her and the confirmation will be coming by snail mail in 7-10 days. Will this headache ever end??? Seriously. Save yourselves!!! This has been a PSA.

However, I was really disappointed in an experience I had with my sisters recently. Often times the sale price in store is not the same as online. It happens. They have a lot of clothing and each item changes prices all the time due to the sales they do each day. Again, it happens. Literally every single time I have noticed the price is cheaper online they will GLADLY fix that in store and match the cheaper price. When it is cheaper online it is usually by a significant amount. For example marked $29.88 but on sale for $12.88 online. We asked her to check on a few items and she was very upset that she would have to check and match the prices. She kept sighing and grunting making sure we knew how she felt about it. She finally did it and it literally took her less then 15 seconds to check each item to get their online price. We spent well over $150 it wasn't like we were being petty with the cost. I was just really disappointed in her response to us. I think I will stick to other locations that I have always had better customer service from.
