My husband and I were checking out Trolley Square today. There were a couple Hello Kitty's that were in the display window of this store. I love Hello Kitty and my husband knows how much I adore her so we made our way in to check it out. I didn't expect the store to be so eclectic. There's a little of everything here. Clothes, toys, jewelry, socks. It's quite overwhelming but in a fun way. There's so much to look at! There were a lot of dresses and kids clothes in the front. You make your way back to the store and there's more stuff to look at. I did make it to one of the back corners that had more clothes. I did find a pair of overalls that really caught my eye. They are very cute and floral but very expensive. I did notice a few sale tracks but of course I didn't find anything on them. My husband knew I really liked the overalls so he bought them for me. Honestly, I felt shoppers guilt for my husband cause of how pricy they were. They were just fabric overalls that were ankle length. 50 bucks..... I have bought Gap denim overalls at that price but 50 for denim doesn't seem unreasonable. The lady that rung us up was nice. She folded my overalls, bagged them and handed them to me in a bag. Overall it was a neat store but very overpriced. If you are willing to spend the extra bucks for their products then go for it! I know that no one else in town will have the same overalls as me which is cool. But they were pricy and I probably wouldn't have gotten them if it came out of my own pocket. But I'm happy my sweet husband talked me into them. read more

Cute clothes, but horrible service. I was minding my own business looking at necklaces and the store clerk asked me if I was pregnant. Such an inappropriate and unprofessional thing to ask. Not to mention how hurtful it can be to a woman's self confidence. Bummer cus I like the stuff they have, but will not be returning. read more

Super fun store in Salt Lake City, a Rare gem that has become a staple in our community for over 20 years. Stellar prices, GREAT sales, and constant curation of what is cool, what is now, and what's sexy. The staff are genuinely nice and welcoming. I feel bad that I haven't rated this store before now because if there's a store that deserves a rave a revue it's this one. Spark is often the first store in the city to offer the latest "it" fashion. Before the newest items hit Nordstrom or any other department store you will it at Spark. A few years ago, I was 16. I was on a date, & was browsing shirts here with a girl I liked. There was a 35 man behind the counter, and he stopped me. He asked, "are you naturally a brunette? You have such pretty hair. It's a gorgeous color. I'm also a hairstylist incredibly hard to get." I said 'thank you' and we chatted about dyeing hair for a second. As the brief interaction ceased he fired off, "it's a shame you have nice hair. It's wasted on you because you're so unattractive." This is a cool little clothing store that I stumbled upon while waiting for a film screening at nearby Ulysses Salon. I purchased some ultra-trendy flower hair clips for next to nothing. Spark has a vast array of shoes and clothing for men and women and a lot of specialty jeans. CHEESY store. Nice staff but the clothing selection just BLOWS. They do have some cute knitted beanies but other than that the clothing here was that of a mixed selection. I was confused at what the owners were going after.. Offering a goth romanticism clothing to tasteless wench like clothing. Not a fan.. The mens selection was even worse. So I was here to find a certain someone a special little animal print number. When my friend said we were going to place called Cockers, I knew it had to be magic. Sure, the store itself is called Spark, but the back room is Cockers, complete with an astonishing amount of men's underwear... and so silky smooth to boot. It's too bad I couldn't convince the boy that he'd love to wear a see-through zebra print shirt with matching underwear. Maybe next year, ha. Even better was the rest of the store. Children's items were everywhere, along with plenty of women's and men's clothing. Goth? Yep. Cute dresses? Yep. Nice jeans? Yep. Awesome jackets? Yep. Spark boasts a wide array of items for all tastes, and we spent the better part of an hour in this place wandering around looking at everything... and of course trying to find and convince the boy that he'd love to wear a thong with a snake head on the front of it. read more

I used to like this store. However, I went looking for some stuff and one employee (or the owner) followed me the entire time. He didn't even talk to me. He just followed me. I am not a criminal and I have spent good money in this story. I hope they reconsider their attitude. Otherwise, I don't see this store thriving. I really like spark. It's unfortunate that there are not more of these alternative clothing stores in Salt Lake City. They come a dime a dozen in other major cities. They've moved around from different malls and different locations, stayed in business. Great selection but it's not as good as it used to be. Sadly, the owners kind of a prude. When I went in this morning, he said nothing to me when I asked how he was doing. Maybe he was having a bad day, but three stars instead of five, because He continue to be rude and I don't want to feel unwelcome when I leave the store. Seriously...what the hell. I'm not a prude by any means, but when you walk into a clothing store only to browse casually before encountering anal douches....wow. That's not something you stumble upon unexpectedly every day. Some of the clothes were cute, and others evoked a sincere feeling of what the actual fuck. Can't tell if a medieval sex outfit or something people are actually expected to wear in public. The store has no solid identity but certainly a lot of weird clothing. I love Spark! I am a girl in a top 40 band with 6 males, and we have purchased a lot of our show clothing here. Funky, trendy, unique pieces, quality, and great prices! A lot of the clothing here you won't find anywhere else, and so it's perfect for what we need! I picked up an incredible party dress here that had beading on top and feathers on the bottom, and it looked like I had purchased it at a very high end dress shop. They have a nice selection of both women's and mens shoes at next to nothing prices. The owners are great, and always helpful. We love this store! read more
