Peppers

I came in with a group of girls for dinner on a weeknight. At first we were worried because nobody came to the table after we were sat for quite a long time, but the experience quickly got better. We shared several small plates including the ahi, peppers, fries, brussels etc. and all of them were quite delicious. We also tried several different drinks that were all good too. My sister got a slice of cheesecake on the house for celebrating here and it was delish. Our server also gave us a great list of recommendations in town. I would recommend coming in if you're in the area.

Perfect night out.

Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious. Ruth Reichi Friends dinner night out. The vote: Perch and Plow. This is an impressive Restaurant + Cocktail Bar that hosts a Hipster like vibe. Both the ground patio and second floor offer nice views that overlook Santa Rosa's historic downtown square. The inside decor greets you with a welcoming modern charm. We were impressed by the open dining area and the beautiful full bar that that offers classic, interesting, and unique crafted cocktails.--AND the menu offers a perfect selection of appetizers and large plates which features organic, natural, and local ingredients The price ranges from $10 to $66. Food is delicious and worth the cost. We ordered the: ROASTED CAULIFLOWER $13, ROASTED BEET SALAD $14, FILET MIGNON AND LOBSTER TAIL $66, GRILLED CREEKSTONE 16OZ RIBEYE STEAK $46, two orders of the COURTHOUSE DOWNTOWN SMASH BURGER (LOCAL GRASS-FED BEEF) $16, and for desert --CRÈME BRULEE WITH FRESH BERRIES $10. So many Drink choices - but we went with the lemon drop martini, red wine, Cadillac margarita, and dry martini. Recommended: Make a reservation. This is a busy and popular dining destination. Staff: Superb service! Note: Street Parking and a convenient 3rd street garage.

Burger and fries.

Location can not be beat! Right on Courthouse Square overlooking on the 2nd floor with open windows, plenty of seating in a modern space. I placed a doordash order to go of Burger & Fries, Fish tacos and a cup of butternut squash soup. When I went to pick up, the server took me up to the second floor and gave me my bag. She said that I still owe a balance and I said no, I placed the order through DoorDash and paid already. She said she had "No idea and doesnt know much about DoorDash". She went to the back and asked someone. When she came back, I showed her my Doordash account and showed her that I paid. She did not seem convinced and she let me go. Definitely need to be more communication with servers regarding 3rd party apps if you are accepting them in your restaurant! Food was not bad. Fish tacos were a little too sour (I took out the jalepenos too otherwise it will be sour and HOT) for my taste. Butternut Squash soup was good. Burger was OK. Would not mind trying again if they have seasonal menu, I would try something else.

Dessert flight

Our experience here was amazing! A great ambience, delicious food and our server Lauren, was fantastic making it a memorable evening. We started off with the cocktail flights, and the grilled octopus which were great. Entrees were the NY strip, cooked to perfection, the mushroom risotto, perfectly creamy and balanced with the earthy mushrooms and the Altantic salmon seared for maximum flavor. Portions are good sized and served with mashed potatoes and vegetables making it a balanced meal. They were out of the standard dessert flight, but our server managed to request four one to be put together since we were celebrating a special occasion. Needless to say, it was delicious! When in Santa Rosa, take the time to stop by Perch+Plow; you will not regret it!

Ehhh just ok

Drinks were okay. I came here because they're Yelp showed lots of pics of cocktails but they were just OK. My glass was extremely sticky on the outside which made drinking it kind of annoying. I think this place lacked attention to detail.

Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.

The vibe is effortlessly chill, with whimsical decor--think antique lamps, an old record player, and lots of little details that make you want to look around. The whole place felt alive in the best way--buzzing with conversation, laughter, and people clearly having a great time. We didn't have a reservation, but lucked out with seats at the community table. Bonus: the other guests were super welcoming, which just added to the fun, communal feel. We hit happy hour, and wow--it's a good one. Tons of interesting bites and a solid drink lineup. I went with a whiskey sour, my friend had the ginger beer on draft (very refreshing), and we shared the prawns, Brussels sprouts, and creamy mac & cheese. Everything was seriously delicious. Shoutout to our server, Melanie--friendly, attentive, and totally on it, even with the place packed. A couple things to note: it does get loud, so maybe not your spot if you're after a quiet, intimate dinner. Also, the happy hour menu listed Brussels sprouts but didn't mention bacon--I'm vegetarian, so that was a bit of a surprise. (It is noted on the regular dinner menu, which I admittedly didn't check.) All in all, such a fun, lively spot. I'll definitely be back for more bites and cocktails.

There's almost zero damping and no acoustic management whatsoever. It has the appearance of an attractive venue without the functional reality. It was incredibly painful with the voices of all the talking along with the music ringing in our ears. The conversations of people were amplified by the design of the facility to the point where they were competing with the fully amplified '90s band that I heard called joose. In addition, they appear to have no comprehension about how to actually create an appropriate acoustic management system. There are no damping systems, no soft surfaces, it's like they didn't even ask anybody who knows anything about anything about how to do acoustic design. It's entirely appearance based. We will never return here again for anything other than a cocktail or maybe a karaoke event. It was a waste of $20. Per person. We effectively paid $40 for a couple to be acoustically tortured for 2 hours. We kept hoping it would get better but it didn't I thought maybe once more people came in they might help but it didn't help they just got louder. I can't believe that nobody else has complained about this before.

Definitely felt like a rip off.

She left before I realized we didn't have utensils. It was about 5 minutes before another waiter at another table came close enough for me to ask for utensils. The ambiance is always great here. Our total with drinks (6), mussels and fries, flatbread, asparagus salad, tuna tartare was $180 for the 3 of us. Felt pricey, but I guess it's not surprising considering where we were. Drinks were delicious! Service was great overall, no hovering but attentive enough to not feel forgotten.

We decided to forego sweet desserts and went with the cheese board instead. Good choice. Three cheeses with honey, jam, nuts, and crackers. And then the espresso martini. What makes this martini superior is that they use brewed espresso, rather than a packaged mix. Yes, you can tell! Augie's is open for lunch and dinner with a newly opened Happy Hour.

Service was always prompt and welcoming as well. There is a good variety of food with the stars I think being their escargot (the garlic butter being the best). Lots of little touches of snail decor around the restaurant is really cute. I've had their ahi Niçoise salad and it is excellent. The potatoes and ahi were a surprisingly good combo for me. Oysters are a refreshing appetizer but I recommend the frog legs (tastes almost like a very lightly fried thinner chicken wing). I often paired it with a side of mushrooms. My family has gotten a variety of their menu. Onion soup is good and ahi tartare is great to share and munch. Warmed baguette bread and butter are always available. They have such good appetizers I think they even beat out the entrees. But I can say their steak and poulet/chicken frites are not bad too. I'm very glad they can do substitutions for the frites with roasted vegetables and got my poulet with green beans instead which still were a good pairing for the meat. Desserts are great too to share and finish your meal. Creme brûlée is standard in a lot of places and theirs hits the mark but I love Augie's Crepe Suzette more! A tangy orange based crepe topped with vanilla ice cream with bits of crispy orange bits throughout. I hope I come back again to try more dishes. A lovely spot in downtown.
