My wife (a former townie) was enamored, and we returned twice more during our trip (though they were closed on Sunday morning), to the detriment of Caribou and Starbucks. Lattes were very nice -- though we requested extra hot on our second visit -- and served in an appropriately sized china cup when requested. Our breakfast selections were consistently yummy, unique and filling (though a bit pricey). On the other hand, the two baked goods I tried were dry and not very good at all, which cost them a half-star. The interior was pleasant, not overly crowded nor too loud. We spent almost an hour each morning visit to chat, catch up on the news, and play our games. I'm taking off another half-star given the demeanor of the wait staff...certainly not surly or impolite, but just did not appear to be that interested in working there. All in all, we'll be back the next time we visit.

I talked to the table next to me who agreed, in fact like me the lady at that table ate almost two of her tacos before she couldn't handle it any more. I told them I was having the same difficulty. One waiter said the tacos should be more "sweet" not spicy. Our waitress said others had complained today regarding the spiciness too. I stopped eating my tacos, chips and salsa, since I couldn't identify where the spice was coming from. When I asked my waitress, who had admitted others were complaining, about a discount since I couldn't finish my food since the heat kept building in my mouth. She stated I couldn't get a discount since it was Taco Tuesday so the food was already discounted. Not pleased. To add insult to injury the lady at the table next to me made the same complaint and she was offered new food. I don't know if it was because her husband made the complaint on her behalf, and I was a table of one? Very disappointed in service and food. Sadly I drove by Thirsty Moose who has amazing food, but picked Boomtown tonight. Regretting that decision.

The waitress (she is really nice!) said 2 larges would be enough for the 5 of us and she was right - we had almost no leftovers (good thing, we were staying in a motel with no fridge), but it was a stretch (literally) to eat it all. I have to say, for a Northwoods pizza joint the crust was really good. Toppings not half bad either, and they really like to load up your pie with banana peppers. We had a great time. I noticed on the way to the men's room that they have a nice game area for the kids, and it looked well-used. Also liked the free popcorn, though I'm sure it makes lots of people thirsty enough to order another beer. Next year we try the wings!!!
