    Milano Dark Chocolate Cookies

Milano Dark Chocolate Cookies: Pepperidge Farm was founded by Margaret Rudkin and it's quite an astonishing story. I can't do it justice here as it would take too long, but here's the succinct version. In 1929 Margaret and her husband moved into Pepperidge Farm located in Fairfield, CT. The farm was named after an ancient Pepperidge tree that grew there. Margaret was not a baker by trade but picked it up as her son had severe allergies and asthma, prohibiting him from eating most commercial processed foods. Through trial and error, Margaret concocted a delicious all-natural stone-ground whole-wheat bread that not only her son, but others found to be delicious, and Pepperidge Farm was born. The Milano cookies are comprised of two biscuit style cookies sandwiching a thin layer of chocolate filling (in this case dark chocolate). Being more of a milk chocolate guy, I was concerned that I wouldn't like the filling. Ironically it was the biscuit cookies that fell short for me as they seemed kind of bland. The filling had some nice fudgy aspects and contrasted great with the very faint buttery? flavor of the biscuits. Overall, these are just okay as the sandwich portion is just too plain. STORE HOURS & LOCATION: they follow the outlet mall hours. Confirm with the website for the Pleasant Prarie Premium Outlet Mall. It's generally from 10/11am-8pm. Located near Fossil, next to Aeropostale & Carter's. It's directly across from the Nike Store (South of the Nike Store) The store has a bunch and a variety of goodies at unbeatable prices. See pictures for some examples. Store was not busy at all in the morning around 11am on a Friday, and the worker was a sweet elderly lady who was occupied sticking the freezer, but ready to help me as needed. Really great store. Must try the Salted Pretzel Milano Cookies, the traditional Dark Chocolate Milano Cookies, and the Chocolate & White Chip Macadamia Nut Cookies. Gold Fish are also a must!

After walking all over the outlet mall, you can stop by here to stock up on carbs, loaves of bread, cookies, turnovers (enjoyed by Jay Cutler - I had to throw in some Packer humor), gold fish crackers, etc. I've also picked up the coconut and red velvet cakes (note: these cakes did not elicit any fond, nostalgic childhood memories - sorta meh really). The garlic bread for spaghetti is rather decent. Now the cinnamon swirl toast with butter, that's really satisfying - in fact, it's my favorite item. The whole grain oatnut bread is hearty enough for any sandwich (chicken salad, ham, roast beef) that you plan to make. Oh, they also have boxes of Godiva chocolate and the deals aren't too bad. Lastly, if you stop by during the summer, make this your last stop because it can get hot in the car.

More than half the food has expired yet they still sell it. Is that even legal? Huge thumbs down on this one unfortunately

Super fresh and so good, just typing this review makes me wish I had a bag of it! Customer service was great too! I just moved to Kenosha and plan to be a regular at this store! Do yourself a favor, if you want yummy and super fresh popcorn check this place out! You will be so happy you did! We had a Popcorn Bar at our wedding reception! The place smells amazing right when you walk in! Cute popcorn shop with a ton of different flavors to pick from. Along with icecream flavors and miscellaneous candy treats. They will make it fresh for you as well- thank you Tom! He was very kind answering all of our questions and making a customer feel like a customer (not always something you receive these days). It was hard to only pick a few popcorns to bring home with me, but I ended up purchasing the s'mores and cheese and caramel blend, and impulse purchased the chocolate turtle at checkout. I appreciate how samples of the popcorn are out as well. Everything was fantastic and this will be a must stop for me when I'm in Kenosha!

The place is a mad house ... parking lot is full and be prepared for a grocery cart rally. Went on a Saturday morning. New guy in town for the experience. Multiple deli counters and fantastic choices. Service was excellent. Tried many cold cuts and salads. Hot dishes were popular with other shoppers but that wasn't a priority for us. Great breads to choose from. This old world deli is jam packed full of goodies. So many, we are returning today for another pass. Couldn't make it out the door without trying some of their chocolates. The triple dipped malted milk balls will put you in a coma. Highly recommend without any reservations. Allow plenty of time and grab a cart as soon as you enter. Bon Appetite !

We had already planned on visiting Franks Diner in Kenosha so we were excited to see that Tenuta's was just a few miles from Franks. After our excellent breakfast at Franks, we made our way to Tenuta's. We were both surprised and kind of excited when we arrived at an empty parking lot with plenty of spaces. It was when we attempted to go in that we noticed that they did not open for 15 minutes. Thus the empty parking lot. What happened over the next 15 minutes was something we have never experienced before. Cars began pulling in 2 and 3 at a time. People were walking up in groups to stand and wait for them to open. Keep in mind this was December and it was pretty cold outside. The closer we got to the time they opened, the more people that arrived. It kind of felt like black Friday shopping. People kept lining up and before you knew it, the parking lot was almost full. Wow. All for good reason as we got inside. Tenutas' is a one stop shop. They have pre-made foods, frozen foods, deli hot food, alcohol, of course some cheese, you name it. We picked up some Italian sausage, some frozen ravioli with their homemade sauce and a pack of their Italian beef. We really enjoyed the ravioli and the homemade sauce was delicious. Being a Chicago guy, the Italian beef was good, just not Chicago quality. The mild Italian sausage was very good and we look forward to enjoying the additional links that we have left. Very popular place that we would definitely visit again when we are back in the area.
