    Popcorn galore!!!

Many Sweet Options! I visited (2/28 & 3/2). This review covers both. This is a wonderful sweets shop, located In downtown Kenosha-a few blocks from Lake Michigan. The shop is actually two storefronts W/ a few colorful tables/chairs for seating. Featuring: many popcorn flavor combinations, Ice cream, huge lollipops & unique merchandise. I'm excited about the merchandise & decor. The popcorn is prepackaged/label details Flavor or Flavor Combination. I purchased the popcorn "Caramel/Cheese Mix" & The "Old Fashioned Kettle Corn." And "Birthday Cake" Ice Cream. All fresh/tasty. The Kettle Corn has a wonderful sweet/salty flavor w/creamy butter notes. The birthday cake ice cream: creamy, smooth vanilla base w/flavors of vanilla birthday cake. Worth another visit!

So I posted about how their staff does not wear masks nor do they make customers on a post advertising their masks on Facebook, and they deleted the post itself and blocked me from their entire Facebook page. Pretty shitty on their part. Someone called them out for violating the Governor's order and current health codes and they try to bury the evidence. The picture still went straight to the DOH, and you can't hide from them.

My new summertime biking hobby has been a stop for a scoop or two of ice cream at Sandys. The phone is one generous scoop. If you get two, be ready! All of the flavors I've tried so far have been delicious, and all of the employees are super friendly. I like to enjoy my treat by sitting outside at one of their tables while watching downtown Kenosha go by.

As others have said, this is probably the best ice cream and popcorn you'll find in the area without going to Madison, Milwaukee, or Chicago. The shop is nicely decorated with a very strong smell of sweets. Prices are reasonable and the staff is super friendly and attentive. The cedar crest ice cream they stock here is full of nice add-ins and has a nice light flavor with a creamy texture. At only $2.49 for a generously sized single scoop, you can't complain about what you're getting. As others have said, the popcorn is probably the closest you'll find to Garrett popcorn here (more like Poppycock) and is great to snack on if you're taking a stroll along the harbor. With the good prices, tons of variety in popcorn and ice cream, and a great staff -- I'll definitely be back on my next visit to Kenosha.

I love YELP, don't you? Not just for practical reasons. YELP can be so entertaining. Read ALL the reviews for this place, there isn't another place in Wisconsin with a higher cute-per-review ratio. Almost every person experiencing this place and reviewing it has to use the word, cute, to describe it. Darn it. It is cute. It's a cute candy and popcorn shop. The second most common adjective here is, addicting. No matter what size bag I get, the caramel corn does not make it home. Location is good, ignore all good medical and dental advice and get a Chicago style hot dog next door, come over here and get some flavored popcorn or ice cream or both, go across the street to get the next size up in underwear as you will need it if you keep visiting here. Very close to some interesting museums and a pretty lakefront, the only drawback is this place is filled with children. So cute from a distance, so annoying, sticky and full of germs up close. The problem with 21st century children is 21st century parenting, but what are you going to do, it's an ice cream shop.

Well it's featured in the Chicago Tribune and boasts their caramel popcorn. It's definitely not as yummy as Garrets in Chicago, or as adorable as the Little Popcorn Store in Wheaton, but you can see for yourself.... Newspaper article: http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/lifestyle/chi-kenosha-one.-fine-day-0614jun14,0,3059681.story Too plain of decor for me.

So so so good, I stopped in for the first time last week and had to try the cheddar cheese/caramel popcorn mix and it was wonderful. Super fresh and so good, just typing this review makes me wish I had a bag of it! Customer service was great too! I just moved to Kenosha and plan to be a regular at this store! Do yourself a favor, if you want yummy and super fresh popcorn check this place out! You will be so happy you did! We had a Popcorn Bar at our wedding reception! Sandy met with us to discuss flavors and which containers to rent based on wedding theme. Everyone LOVED the popcorn!

    So addicting.

This place legitimately makes me angry. Once I start eating their popcorn, I can't stop. It's way too good and it's just not fair. Seriously though, their popcorn and ice cream is phenomenal. Check out their specialty flavors, especially "Rebel Yell" (heads up: a little spicy, but not bad). This is my wife and my go to spot for a walking around snack when hanging out down by the lake.

My brother is a chocaholic and he absolutely LOVED this drink!

CITY SLICKER I have…read moredriven by here many times but i have never stopped. Recently I needed zucchini. We were having company over and I wanted to add grilled zucchini to the menu. When I stopped in I was amazed at the large selection of items they had. They also had a bunch of great looking zucchini. The normal price for them was $1.29 a pound but they were on special for 75 cents a pound. I grabbed 3 nice size ones and the total price was $1.83. Now that was a deal. I should have grabbed more. I was also able to meet the owner Chris. She was very friendly and helpful. She actually stopped in to drop off more zucchini. She was also there to see how the store was doing. We also started talking about cooking food and using fresh veggies. As she was talking to me she was looking through the peppers. She picked up two giant green peppers that were going bad and asked me if I could do something with them. I told her Yeah and she gave them to me. In fact, I took them home and roasted them on the fire pit. I also served them to our guests later that day and they loved them. In fact, the guests used them on there brats. I know roasted peppers are not a traditional topping but I must admit they tasted fantastic on the brats. Thanks Chris for giving me these and adding to our already delicious menu. This store is seasonal. I am not sure when they close down but I'm sure when it starts to get cold. I also learned that Chris is the daughter of the famous Jerry Smith who has the farm North of this location. So all of there fresh seasonal veggies come from there. Jerry Smith's farm has a great pumpkin patch for the kids to visit in October. If you haven't been there then I recommend you load up the Family and make a trip there. They also have a Corn Festival coming up in August too. Those events take place at the Jerry Smith Farm and not here. I also have a Yelp Review posted for that location. Okay back to Green Acres. The selection was huge. They had a variety of potatoes and onions, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, 4 foot tall Dill, corn, hot peppers, green peppers, pickles, watermelon and zucchini. Everything looked amazing. In addition to the fresh vegetables this location also carried flats of flowers too. I really wanted the palm tree for $330.00 It looks so cool plus I would always feel like I'm on vacation if I owned it. So if you are driving down the road and you see a little shack at the side of the road it's Green Acres. It is the place to be. It's like farm living which is the life for me. Yeah I may get allergic from the smell of hay. I do love the country but I also love my big city too. There are some song lyrics mixed in there above...enjoy!!! See Green Acres makes me want to break out in song. I'm happy that people seem to be getting healthier. Places like this are helping us move in the right direction. We need to learn how to make food again and not out of a box but from scratch. It is not only rewarding to do this but it tastes amazing. So I appreciate Green Acres and I can not wait to stop back.

Of course when you come to Wisconsin you are going to want to find some cheese. Why wouldn't you pick a place that is shaped like a castle? Wow - Mars Cheese Castle's Irish Reuben is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had!…read more I've been coming to Mars Cheese Castle for years, and it never disappoints. But yesterday was the first time I ever ordered the Irish Reuben. My wife and I were trying to decide what to have, when Louis (our favorite bartender) gave us the details on the Irish Reuben. This is not a traditional Reuben (there is no Sauerkraut or Thousand Island Dressing). The Corned Beef is baked in brown sugar consommé, Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, and Guinness Stout. It is served with Guinness Braised Cabbage, Caramelized Onions, and Swiss Cheese. It is incredible. This is on my Mt. Rushmore of sandwiches. It is that good. It is a seasonal sandwich that is only available around St. Paddy's Day...so get it while you can. Thanks Louis!
