This place is so good! I don't live near here but will go out of my way for Pepper Lunch. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Big shoutout Reggie and Kai who were working today. read more

Get ready to wait in line, this place is extremely popular and for good reason. This place was absolutely delicious. The portions were large and extremely filling. Order time to food delivery was reasonable and everything came out piping hot (go figure from the sizzling plate) and I may have burnt myself being too excited to dig into the food. The staff was super friendly and helpful explaining things as needed, and the ease of ordering through the menu screen was excellent. read more

OMG, I don't even know where to start! It was my boyfriend's and my first time here, and we had no idea what to order. Tiff recommended a few items that sounded so good, my boyfriend ended up getting both and finished them! We loved the vibe, the energy from the staff, and the great customer service. We'll definitely be back to try the pasta! read more

Delicious food and great service from ashley. Definitely coming back!! Beef was delicious

It's better than expected. Really yummy! Tiffany was very helpful. Remember to add the curry sauce. I got the garlic brisket pepper rice.

- Too bad they don't accept the stamp card that I use at the Diamond Jamboree location. The stamp card says it's good for Pepper Lunch Cali, but apparently not all of Cali. - Very crowded. - When they finished my order, they didn't text me like the kiosk said they would. Well, the receipt doesn't show the phone # I had entered, so no way to verify if I had input my correct phone #. . The email address was correct, but unfortunately they don't email you when your order is ready. - Since there's no designated comfortable seating area to wait for your food and inside is so crowded, I waited outside. After 30min, I reentered to check on the status of my order. Turns out my food was already done. I asked. They said they had called my name. But no way I could've heard them calling my name from outside amidst bustling, noisy Irvine Spectrum Center. - Thus, I wish they had a way of announcing to the exterior front of the restaurant when an order is ready. Could be a loud PA verbally announcing the order #, or just a bright TV showing the order # when ready, like other food courts do. + Delicious food though. Pepper Lunch always has yummy exotic food. Love me some sizzling curry. . A bit expensive. - Like at other Pepper Lunch locations, the sizzling curry meals don't readily come with vegetable variety unless you order extras. read more

For visit on Thursday afternoon March 6 around 1:20 PM Kaya greeted us as we entered the courtyard on our way to the register. He was cleaning the tables outside. Kara took our orders as we wanted the OC Restaurant $15 lunch of pepper rice + drink. I wanted the chicken pepper rice and strawberry dragonfruit drink. Older daughter wanted the beef pepper rice and strawberry dragonfruit drink. Younger daughter wanted the salmon pepper rice and the mandarin cardamom drink. We chose to sit outdoors even though it was sprinkling, but it wasn't that cold with heaters. There was a young family of 3 next to us and 3 tables for two occupied around us. Older daughter's beef pepper rice was missing corn so server took it back to add the corn. It took a while to get all our food, but Kyle made sure that we did. I'm not particularly fond of this style of cooking because the rice gets too crispy and hard to chew, but my daughter does like this style because the food stays hot longer. I do like the Tractor Beverages they offer. They help with the heat from the pepper of the dishes. Daughter shared Tractor Beverages website with me. I learned that the beverages have certified organic ingredients, no artificial ingredients, no artificial sweetness, no fake colors, and no mystery preservatives. My beverage tasted like pure, sweet, natural fruit. This Pepper Lunch is next to Bacio di Latte, a popular gelato place, which draws quite a crowd as evidenced by the long line leading from the store. We noticed that the line for Pepper Lunch on Saturday night was quite long. Kaya cleared our table and said "Good bye" to us. You feel that you will be welcomed back. read more

We ordered the Classic Beef Pepper Rice and the Chicken Karaage. Service was friendly and helpful. However the kitchen was slow. They recently opened this location so, perhaps they will improve. But for a fast steak restaurant it isn't very fast. The Beef Pepper Rice was sizzling and pretty good. But the prices for any type of customization is expensive, even for basic ingredients. Chicken Karaage was a bit overcooked, but alright. I like that they have pepper and steak sauce at the table. However, no napkins at the table or counter. Also, no melon soda or beer like Japan. Ambiance is basic, they have a decent amount of seating. I like that they have outdoor heating. It's a convenient location if you're going to the movie theater. read more

Shrinkflation or Straight up F U to me. Let me start off by saying I could count how many Veggies I had in my dish with both hands. That's including my corn. They really cheap out on my meal for sure. Also ONE puny slice of tofu. Even the rice portion was half the size Pepper Lunch normally serves. I felt like I had a kids meal for a second. My meal lack flavor. My veggies were stone cold as if they came straight out of a supermarket frozen mixed Vegetables. I regret eating here. My money was well spent somewhere else. read more

Awesome new casual spot perfect for a quick bite before or after catching a movie or shopping. It's located right next to the Regal movie theater. The food came out pretty dang quick and the service was top notch. Which was perfect because we can sit comfortably with the kids without worrying about being too loud. I would definitely recommend their signature sizzling beef dish with cheese and kimchi. Their pasta Alfredo and curry were a big hit with the kids too! read more

Food, Service, and Ambiance? ALL 10 out of 10 PERIODT. AYEEEEEEEEEEE. Shoutout to KHAYA, Nate, Alyssa, Zach, Reggie, and Mel. Y'all are amazing. My friend and I came in after a long day at work, mentally drained and physically exhausted, just needing a place to sit, eat, and decompress from the chaos. Yes, that included a customer literally throwing a cucumber at me. We had never tried Pepper Lunch before and were hesitant, but seeing KHAYA, Nate, and Alyssa vibing, working hard, and having fun made us say, "You know what? Let's give this a shot." We were welcomed right away and the energy was super friendly. KHAYA patiently answered all our first-timer questions, gave us honest food suggestions that slapped, and treated us with so much kindness. His humor, positivity, and customer service were top-tier. Thank you for being so chill even though we probably asked the most basic things imaginable. After standing for over 10 hours at our jobs, we finally sat down and Nate came through with water, with ice. That might not sound like much, but our work fridge was broken and we hadn't had ice all day. I almost shed a tear. #Lifesaver. The food came out quickly (we were the only ones there but more people showed up AYYEE) the portions were solid, and everything tasted way better than we expected. Like actually good. We were shocked. Throughout the meal, they kept checking on us, refilled our drinks, and made sure we were good. The vibe was just right. Good people, good food, good energy. Thank you to Khaya and Nate for taking care of us. Sorry if you heard us trauma dumping. I know customer service is supposed to be the standard, but this team went above and beyond. It wasn't fake or forced. You could tell they genuinely cared. And when you walk in after a day that drains your soul, that means a lot :D The staff ate. The food ate. We will absolutely be back to support. I would crawl back with broken bones if I had to. Come support them. Periodt. AYYYE read more

First time here at Pepper Lunch @ Irvine Spectrum location and I can only say great things about this place! Walking up to the open doors of Pepper Lunch greeted me with amazing smell of its sizzling beef. The quality of the food is amazing! The sizzling stone plate they serve your food in creates the best crispy rice if you let it sit a bit and eat from the top. Food also came out pretty fast and keeps the food hot the entire meal. They offer garlic sauce, salt/pepper, sweet sauce, and chili to spice up your meal. We met Thomas on soft opening day, he was super helpful and kind. It was my very first time eating at this place and I can definitely say that his awesome customer service and friendliness has me wanting to come back. Overall, the environment was really welcoming and warm. I definitely would recommend this place for your while you shopping at Spectrum or date night before movie ( Regal Theater is 2 doors down which is plus). read more

Such a busy pepper lunch location. However, the food is great (as usual/expected), and it's clean! For a restaurant set up with kiosks, you'd expect minimal service interaction. However, the staff is beyond helpful and kind. Ashley and Ferhut can be seen running back and forth during the busy rush. As a hospitality worker myself, I have to give credit where it's due. They were eager to help with providing waters, helping us get extra bowls and utensils. Treat your workers well! A business in this industry isn't successful without happy employees. I always love the saying: "take care of your employees and they will take care of your guests/customers". read more

WAITING IN LINE: Came here on a Friday night for their grand opening. waited in line for not too long (30mins) and was pleasantly surprised of the way the man would keep customers waiting in line entertained while passing out bogo cards. Up until this point it was a 10/10 experience. ORDERING: Got in and was trying to order through the kiosk and was interrupted by the worker asking us "do u guys know what to order?" to which we replied "no we've never been here but we're still looking" then she told us that one of us (there were two of us) needs to sit at the table while the other one orders. ???? so i told my friend to hurry and choose first to go sit down. a minute later the same worker came to tell us AGAIN that we need someone sitting down. so my friend just went and sat. i ended up having to call my friend on the phone to ask what they wanted in the loud atmosphere. We ordered and sat down in a super tight space. FOOD/SERVICE: Our food came way after the other tables around us but i was ok with it cuz i understand that opening days are always chaotic and disorganized. What I do not tolerate however is receiving a completed different side order from what i paid for. I ordered a sweet potato fries and my friend ordered regular potato fries. We received 2 sweet potato fries. Told the server we actually ordered regular potato fries for one of the orders. She says "yeah but we're out of regular potatoes. this is all we have" and walked away. i was a little taken aback at how the server just confidently said that as if that was ok and we ended up just letting it go. Would've saved $5 if we know that regular fries were not available. My friend didn't even touch the sweet potato fries cuz she doesn't like them. Side order of RED onions came to our table as raw WHITE onions. and WAY after we've already received our hot plate so the onions were not even able to cook so it was RAW. it was so spicy it was very hard to finish. I also understand that this was a BOGO meal so maybe you guys decided to put a little less in the plates but come on..... i got scraps of beef on my plate.... Overall, even with the coupons, I highly doubt I'll ever be back. I'm surprised by the amount of 5 stars in here and maybe we were just a one off experience. read more
