The burrito is HUGE! I ordered a carne Asada burrito with beans and rice and I thought I was picking up a newborn! This thing was absolutely massive and really delicious, the carne Asada was cooked perfectly and I was so stuffed I couldn't even eat the entire thing in one sitting. Had to eat half and take the rest home with me for dinner. The staff were super nice and the owner was doing his best to keep me entertained while waiting for the cooks to whip it up. This is college town dive Mexican food. The drive-through was BUSY & non-stop! (Headlights in my eyes the entire time I dined inside, since I was facing that direction.) The food is excellent! I loved the corn tortillas and al pastor meat. The guac is creamy. I was expecting tacos already assembled, but instead it was 3 corn tortillas wrapped up to stay warm and a huge pile of finely chopped al pastor meat (with beans, rice, & guac on the side). My 3 tortillas only held half the meat, so I had plenty leftover for another day. I'd say this is mainly a drive-through place, with to-go inside. Although there is space for several families to eat inside. Even dining in, food was served in a styrofoam container. The non-gendered restroom was like a men's stall in a bar. Today I picked up my little brother from CSUF and we were both craving something fun to eat. We looked up carne asada fries near us, and Pepe's popped up! The restaurant is easy to pass up while driving, but it's super close to CSUF. You are able to order drive thru or in store but there's no indoor seating (but there's an area outside to eat). When we walked in the cashier was friendly and took our order quickly, and we waited only 10 minutes to get our order. We ordered the large carne asada fries with green salsa and guacamole. The meat was flavorful, fries were crispy, there was a lot of cheese and I don't usually like beans from restaurants but they were pretty good! We were satisfied! :) read more

One order can definitely feed a group of 3 people. There is a ooey gooey cheesy layer with plenty of guac and carne asada to go with each bite. The price tag is worth this mountain of food. The best breakfast burritos anywhere, and very good value. You can sometimes get two meals from a breakfast burrito, so having it cut in half is helpful. They're family owned for multiple generations and everything is good, the employees are very friendly and they have a strong local following. This means it gets busy at lunch and you need to keep this in mind. The foods excellent and cooked to order. You can eat inside or outside. They were remodeling for the first time in the 25 years since I've been coming here recently and only had outside seating, but still sold canned soda to makeup for no fountain drinks. I'm excited to see how the new renovation looks. It's neat they were even open during renovation. They do have a small drive through widow since they're located on the Fullerton side of the street and not Placentia, where the town charter has banned them for years, going back to the horse drawn carriage days. This is why the In & Out across the street is the only location you'll ever see without a drive through; it's in Placentia, but Pepe's and McDonalds are in Fullerton. Pepe's has a few other locations. The one in Anaheim on Ball Road closed, but a new location in Brea opened. Pepe's is so popular they have multiple listings here on Yelp. The legendary breakfast burrito is served all day and I recommend it for first time visitors, or anyone who's undecided. Everything they make is good. Lastly, they have the story painted on the wall inside, but the idea for Pepe's came from military service and loss in the family during Vietnam. The family has continued the honor and it's neat. This place warms my heart and helped me get through college, so I love visiting now as an older adult. read more

This Pepe's although I'm sure they have nice people working here, is NOT like the one in La Habra. The food doesn't come close and the prices are $2-$3 more with both wet burritos and nachos/fries. It's wild. The Relleno burrito was bland, the burritos were meh? I just left here after finding out a Wet Burrito and fries cost $31.... Came to the Pepe's in La Habra, $22. The food quality is fantastic too. Overall, I'm sure there might be nice people but it's not worth it! read more

Normally I go to Pepes all the time in the afternoon/mid day but I decided I wanted to go Saturday morning for breakfast (worst mistake ever) I'm in the drive thru waiting to get charged and I see a young lady who btw was not wearing a headset and was just packing orders and not charging me. Also a short older women who clearly saw me at the window did not come and charge me. I'm so use to the night people who are so friendly and kind unlike the morning shift people. My family seems to love this place.. I really can't see why. They talk about it like it's extremely great, But it's not really it was mediocre at best. We had the crunchy beef taco, Chili relleno burrito, And fries. Nothing was exciting or had full flavor it was meh. The atmosphere was extremely low standards. They were using Picnic tables with covers as a standard tables. One bathroom which had women's picture on the door. The bathroom was greasy af. The staff looked like they were just there to collect a paycheck. I do not recommend this place at all. Oh they did bring the food to us once it was done. Breakfast burrito was gigantic weighing almost 1 1/2 pounds although the burrito could have been rolled better as it fell apart after few bites regardless great spot and drive-through line was all the way to the street. Assuming this decent looking spot served menudo on the weekends, I went in because it's walking distance from home. Sadly they didn't have what I wanted but since I was too scared to just walk out, I ordered a breakfast burrito. It was actually pretty bomb. The normal Mexican restaurant would pack the burrito with two whole potatoes, but not Pepe's. Upon my request, they left out the potatoes. Thinking without the papas, the burrito would be on the smaller side. Thinking again, that thang was girthy! It seemed like they put extra eggs and meat to compensate. Although the salas they offered were really good, all the ingredients inside the burrito were perfectly flavored. I'd say the most impressive part of this was the execution of the final touches of the rolling. It was unbelievable how it was so full and girthy with no ripping and/or leaking at all. I've been pretty lenient with this place. From waiting forever in the line, under construction for over a year now with nothing changing, to wrong orders. But today was the last straw, for me, apparently. I ordered a chorizo, egg and potato burrito, with easy egg and extra chorizo. My burrito is straight up French fries and eggs. Beware. Overcharging tax. Sales tax in Fullerton, Orange County, is 7.75%. For a $12.30 order they attempted to charge $2.65 instead of $0.95. Thus, they charged over 21% tax! They're getting away with this as people don't check receipts. We just left after they said that's the tax. read more

More like a solid 3.5 stars... This place has orange bang which is a huge selling point for me. I feel like this drink is getting more and more rare to find and I hope more restaurants will pick it up... I honestly think if taco bell picks it up and sells an orange bang smoothie with ice cream, it would bank them millions. Anyways, we were craving Carne asada fries and this was the closest location to my house that served it. They have a drive through but we went down to order. I don't know if i saw it on the menu, but it's roughly 9 bucks for a large order... Which is big enough to feed 3 hungry people.. We didn't have to wait that long for it, and we brought it home to eat. When we first tried it, it was pretty salty... But i think the salt wasn't evenly distributed around. And yeah, you can blame inflation but the inflation rate in the US is only 8% so this place is using inflation as an excuse to mark up the prices astronomically. $16 is absolutely insane for a drive though quality meal. There are so many Mexican restaurants in Placentia/Fullerton, but I decided to finally try this place after I heard someone say how good their breakfast burritos were. While I was waiting for my food, a customer ordered 3 breakfast burritos and it was 6:00pm, so they must be good. Anyway, I got the California burrito and It was so big that I should've just eaten half of it. However, it was so good that I ate the whole thing and now I'm sitting on my couch in a food coma and am unable to move. I'm not too picky about my food. This burrito was good and flavorful and filled me up. That's all I ask for. I'd get this burrito again, but there are so many things on the menu that I think you should be able to find something that fits your liking. I'll be back to try their breakfast burrito. read more

The crispy tacos here are delicious! I have plenty of outside seating as well as the drive-through. Service is friendly and they were extremely fast, you have your food within minutes.
