I actually enjoyed this experience. I went on a Monday night, so it wasn't overly packed but there is one server for the dining room. She handled everything with care. The ambiance is very chill and casual. Food was prepared freshly and didn't take too long to come from the back.

Picked up on Pepe's after some Yelp searching and wound up having a nice time. We were there late so it wasn't crowded or loud. The food was good. Not outstanding, but tasty. Portion sizes were good and the food was hot and fresh. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and eager to please. Our waiter would sometimes disappear for stretches of time. It wasn't really an issue because the other waiters would come to the table. The whole team was waiting on us, so it wasn't a problem just an odd thing. One caveat - the parking lot is teeny weeny. We wound up parking next door and walking over. It was late so that wasn't a problem, but it could be difficult at lunch time or during the day when the neighboring businesses are open.

You've gotta come try Pepe's Mexican Grill in Kenner!!! The food was fresh and delicious, the beers were ice cold, and on Wednesdays they offer a free small queso. The service was fast and friendly; while the atmosphere was bright and colorful. Thank you very much for an enjoyable experience, and I will be back. ;0)

Food was good and service was great. Only thing I disliked was they charge to use a credit card. So this alone will keep me away for a while.

Mauricio is the heart and soul of this place. He is always hustling with a smile on his face. The food is excellent and having Mauricio as a server/bartender makes the experience even better.

Pepe's is a cute place with a warm atmosphere and good food. We were skeptical about the service because when I called to ask a question the person on the phone was fairly short and rude. However we were pleasantly surprised at the excellent service. We got: small cheese dip, taco plate (carnitas, Al pastor, carne asada) and a la carte tamale, pastor taco and chicken enchilada. The only weak points were the chips (tasted not fresh and were hard and cold) and the carne asada (not much flavor). Everything else was delicious. We will definitely be back!

A hidden gem in North Kenner. First time here today and it definitely won't be my last. Mauricio was very knowledgeable about the menu and has amazing customer service.

I love this place! The food is amazing and everything is so cute in there :) the bartender was sooo kind while taking care of me, making great recommendations. I'll be sure to be back for the birria and taco Tuesday specials !

The happy hour ends at 6 & the Tacos offered on Taco Tues. are TINY. Service was great but will probably try another day, not Tuesday!

A few years ago I had been to La Tia in Metairie, and it left a serious impression. What stuck with me most were the craft cocktails...creative, clever, and a little bit mischievous. I still remember one in particular: a Mexican-inspired cocktail with mezcal and beet juice that somehow managed to taste like summer decided to take a vacation south of the border. It was the kind of drink that makes you pause mid-sip and say, "Okay... whoever thought of this deserves a raise." Somehow the place drifted off my radar over time. But when the craving for Mexican food hit, it popped right back into my head. I was excited to bring my son and daughter-in-law since they had never been. Unfortunately... the reunion didn't exactly go as planned. Two things hit me immediately while looking over the menu. First: the craft cocktails were gone. Not "different." Not "updated." Just... gone. Replaced with the same drinks you see in every other Mexican restaurant. Second: the prices nearly made me spit out the water I hadn't even ordered yet. $6 for a Corona. $18 for a basic burrito with fries. $10 for a kids plate over chicken tenders and some fries. And not the old La Tia burritos either...the ones I remembered piled high with rich molé, bright verde sauces, and layers of flavor that made you wonder if you should be taking notes. Nope. Now we're talking about a plain flour tortilla with some ground meat inside, no sauce, and a side of what looked suspiciously like freezer-aisle French fries. For eighteen dollars. My daughter-in-law ordered the fajitas, and honestly... they were rough. Thin strips of overcooked meat that looked like they had taken a brief vacation in a plastic bag before hitting the grill...served on a plate. Lately I've gotten into the habit of pulling up Yelp photos to compare dishes from past years, and I did exactly that. I found a photo of the same fajitas from about three years ago...big, juicy steak pieces, sizzling on cast iron and full of life. What we got looked like it came from a completely different restaurant. To be fair, my shrimp tacos were actually pretty good. Nicely cooked shrimp, decent flavor, and probably the lone bright spot of the night. But overall, it felt like the La Tia I loved had quietly packed up and left the building. The elevated Mexican food? Gone. The rich sauces? Gone. The inventive cocktails that made the bar worth sitting at? Also gone. In their place: food that feels pulled from a bag... at prices that feel pulled from a luxury menu. It's a tough thing when a restaurant you once loved loses its spark. But sadly, this visit felt less like a reunion and more like running into an old friend who has completely changed--and not for the better. As much as I hate to say it, I don't see myself returning to La Tia anytime soon. Turns out the only thing that stayed spicy... was the price tag.

Decided to sit at the bar so I can get in and out quickly and have a little margarita. My server/bartender wasn't very attentive at all. I had to get his attention a few times for service because he was in his whole the whole time. I ordered a margarita that to me was okay, but it tasted much better after I asked to have a flavor added to it. I think it was hibiscus. I only got 2 tacos. The fish and shrimp. The fish was a little bland for my taste but the sauces and add ons saved it. This was an okay experience, I'm writing this place off. I plan to give them another shot and try some of their other menu items.

The waitresses were kind and quick to take my order. I ordered a simple fried fish and a queso for an appetizer. The queso was simple and just ok. The salsas were not spiced at all and were very watery. The dish came and it was extremely greasy, I get that it's a fried dish but at least let some of the oil drip off before plating. I used several napkins to try to take off some of the excess oil. The fries were very soggy and not seasoned at all and the fish looked appetizing but when I bit into it, it had no flavor whatsoever. The texture was there and it looked like it was going to taste good but it fell extremely short in taste. On the flip side, the beans were overly seasoned. The rice was also lacking salt. I felt bad when the waitress came to ask me how everything was. I had to tell her that they completely forgot to season my food. She apologized and I said it wasn't her fault and asked for my check and told her she might want to tell the chef to not forget the salt next time. Overall the place was nice for group gatherings, although the music was a little loud, they also had several TVs playing different things. Maybe I selected the wrong dish but I have to say I won't be going here again when I want a good Mexican seafood. I'll have to check out their other dishes and hope they're much better. For now they won't be added on my places to frequent during my work trips.
