What a helpful group of guys! Saved me yesterday when I hit a curb badly and damaged my tire.

Had them change out an oil pan, the splash guard fell off while driving home... the manager was like "well just have an oil change place fix it." No sunshine, you were paid to fix it, you broke it, you will fix it. They forgot to put the rivets back in. Driving in a car with a flap zip tied on.... Stay trashy. read more

I took the car this morning to check the tpms warning light, they told me there was about an hour and half to wait and if I wanted to leave the car with the they would have taken care of it. I told them I needed the car by the afternoon and can't leave overnight and if they could not do it I would take the car elsewhere. At about 3:30 pm I called them up and asked for the status of the car and they told me that they had not started yet and most probably the car couldn't be fixed before close of business (5 pm) I went to get the car back. This is very disappointing customer service from a well known organization, I would have expected a phone call at midday telling me about the delay. Definitely do not recommend this shop. read more

Came here to buy some replacement wiper blades . I was disappointed with the manufacturers vehicle guides as most didn't contain my vehicle and year. The parts manager Joe came over to offer assistance, seemed to know what would work best, sows headed out tong vehicle, checked the fittings, took one off and tried the sizing. Perfect. Crappy all around service. Rear brakes that they did went out in less than 2 yrs. States parts were under warranty but labor was not. It'd be another $140. What a rip off!! Took my Daughter car to Pep Boys Tyler. Brakes were making a squealing noise once in awhile and the car pull to the right. We wanted an estimate. We left the car there 3 hours later called and still no estimate so we went back down there and they had just started on the car here's what they said. Needed for new rotors brakes caliper brake line and we needed a new cabin filter as well the one in there was dirty and wet. A total of over $800 plus. It was late in the day so we didn't get the work done we took the car Discount Tire had new tires put on the car stop pulling to the right. Took it to two other reputable dealers in Tyler Firestone said the brakes were fine and good shape that we had cheap pads that the vehicle called for ceramic changing the pads would fix the problem. Same thing about another tire store said the exact same thing. $269.00 From Firestone Brakes are good. Cabin filter was told looks like it been recently changed. These grease monkeys are Crooks. Beware of these dishonest worthless Crooks. 20/20 needs to pay thus place a visit. From now on going to get 3 written proposals. Shame on you Pep Boys. read more

My husband and I were just in Pep Boys this morning. We walked in and there was a Hispanic guy and a white guy behind the counter. I later found out their names were Justin and Ryan. Justin the Hispanic guy spoke and asked how he could assist us. Ryan, the white guy was on the phone. Justin (who was VERY POLITE) asked us what we needed and I told him I was there to pick up our vehicle. He looked in the system and said that Ryan had been working on it and he would have to help us and he told Ryan. Ryan ignored him. Justin then left and went outside. Ryan ended his call and just stood there. He did not acknowledge us or say one word to us or ask us what we needed help with. Minutes later the phone rung again and he answered it and started helping another customer over the phone! So we continued to just stand there again. Finally Justin, came back in and said "Hey Ryan, they need help." No response from Ryan. So I spoke up and I asked Justin if there was a manager there or someone we could speak with about Ryan being rude and refusing to service us because I needed to be on my way to work and we're just standing there not being serviced (I ended up being 10 minutes late for work by the way). Now suddenly while still on the phone Ryan decides to speak but without even looking at us or Justin, says get somebody else. Justin then goes to the retail side of the store to get the Assistant Manager. He comes and smiles at us. I do not return the smile. He asked me what was wrong and while Ryan was standing right there I told him I think it's rude for you to have employees refusing to service or even acknowledge us and just have us standing here waiting. Ryan here has a bad attitude I told the Assistant Manager. No response from Ryan. He walks outside, lights a cigarette, and starts laughing and talking with the mechanics outside. I asked the Assistant Manager what Ryan's problem was and why he refused to service us. He said he didn't know but that he would definitely speak to him about it. I said yeah because if he doesn't wanna work today he needs to clock out and go home! (I'm omitting curse words). I was very upset!!! Ryan comes back in and I ask the Assistant Manager for the Managers phone number and right in front of Ryan and him I said I will call your boss, your boss's boss, and your boss's boss's boss because you don't have any right to refuse to take our payment and give us our vehicle there is no reason I should have just been left standing here. But wait! There's more! The assistant manager gave me a card with the cell phone number for the Manager Roy Todd. I called and left a voice message letting him know that his employee Ryan is going to get them shut down if he keeps refusing to service certain customers and since he wouldn't take my payment and African American money isn't good there, he can refund me my money. I get a call back from Roy saying that he reviewed the tape and service was not refused. I said WHAT??? He said Ryan didn't help you because he was on the phone. I said did you view the tape and hear the audio? No, he said. I said ok so how do you know what was and wasn't said? I then told him and if you watched the video then you would have seen he was on the phone when we walked in and was told by Justin we needed help and he hung up the phone and said nothing while we just stood there. Minutes later another call came in and he started helping another customer over the phone while we just stood there! I said Why didn't he service us Roy? Roy says that he doesn't know but that Ryan isn't racist. I said Did you ask him why? Roy said No. I said ok so he's just rude? Roy then changes his story and says first of all Ryan was off the clock. I pressed him on that. I said So you have employees working off the clock? Is that why he was so rude? Is that why he refused to help us because you had him working off of the clock???!!! If he was off the clock he had NO reason behind the register or helping customers order parts over the phone! To my surprise Roy says and I quote "He's off the clock, he can do whatever he wants". On top of all this we have reason to believe someone cut our spare tire and damaged it because we refused to buy a tire from them after they repeatedly kept trying to pressure us to buy one and I kept telling them no we have a spare. Next thing we knew my husband's spare was shredded. I could go on and on and I have not mentioned EVERYTHING but there is not enough space for all that. I filed a complaint with Customer Relations. I told the manager Roy I did. His response. "I don't care what you do we've been in business since 1921!" Businesses don't care until you hit them in their pockets! So Pepboys since you don't care and you don't need my money you can refund me the $283 and a tire to replace the one your guys damaged!! Be happy you got 1 star but that is only because I can't put ZERO stars!!! read more

Don't get an oil change here. Their ads pitch on the phone is deceiving. You get up-charged a RIDICULOUS amount for an "extra" quart of oil and and and INSANE amount for an oil filter and give you No Credit for the oil filter that comes with an oil change! Intentionally deceptive place. First time here and will Never step foot in a Pep Boys anywhere in the country again. Hour and a half for an oil change is also pretty ridiculous. read more

I had a problem with my phone charger socket and walked in. They did an electrical eval and fixed it in 30 minutes for $50. It lasted a week. I had to get it fixed again. I know that a lot of auto shops can't and aren't supposed to fix the fuses. They recommend you take it to the dealership. If it was due to this, than I don't blame them.. they probably did what they could. read more

Bought a new alternator with lifetime warranty in 2017 and now that new company has bought them and parts counter is closed they do not have my information in the system and require the receipt to honor warranty. Who keeps receipts for the lifetime and most fade over time anyway. Now I have to jump through hoops to try to get anything done. I will never buy parts from them again! read more

Came in to have 2 tires replaced. First they opened the hood and were fiddling in the engine compartment. When hubby asked what they were doing he was told that they were checking for an exhaust leak. Few problems with that, 1 we only asked for tires, 2 they had the cap off the coolant reservoir. Not where you check for an exhaust leak. Hubby told them to close the hood and replace the tires. That's all we were paying for. Mostly all that I saw after that was standing around. It took them well over an hour to replace 2 tires. The guy doing it didn't look like her had any idea what the heck he was doing. We wouldn't have come here at all if it hadn't been an emergency on a Sunday, when discount tires is closed. I don't recommend pep boys in tyler TX. They try to sell you crap that you don't need, and they fiddle f**k around instead of getting the job done. Terrible. read more

I went in for an oil change on Saturday and they had a hour wait so the manager told me to come back the next day (Sunday) around 12 and he would get me in for sure, "it's Sunday it won't be busy at all, in and out" he said. I get there Sunday and they have a 2 hr wait. So I then make an appointment for Monday morning at 8:30, I made sure several times that I would get in quick since I made an appointment this time because I had class at 10. I get there for my appointment and there is an HOUR WAIT!!! After I told her I had an appointment and she said there is nobody available to help she then asked if I wanted to wait. I wouldn't recommend this store to a blind man. They're very dishonest as well as scammers. Took my car in to get a wheel bearing fixed .Took the car in on the 11 of October at 9:00 am. I get a call later that day saying they couldn't get to it because they were short handed. Tues she calls saying that the wheel bearing that was put in was bad and that I owe 506.00 for the services. I immediately argued the issue because that's not what I was told.. Since she didn't put the labor in on the invoice they only charged me 142.00 fir fixing it. Picked up car on Wednesday and every light from the power steering, traction, ABS to the low tire light was on. Never happened before I took it there. The car still isn't fixed, which they charged me for. Plus the front tire sensor had to be replaced by another mechanic shop. But why would the front sensor be bad when they were supposed to be working on the back tire. They purposely messed the sensor up. I was out of 236.00 getting that fixed. Please don't take your car there. They are liars as well as scammers. They even lied and said I needed back breaks and struts when I actually didn't. So my advice would be take it to the dealership or to a reliable person that's not going to try and cheat you out of your hard earned money. My next review will be on the BBB site here in Tyler to make sure people know what kind of cheating luring scammers they are. read more

My girlfriend and I received terrible customer service after having an A/C check done. Someone in the service crew rolled up the driver window incorrectly pulling a part of the door panel up with it. When showing the technician he simply said the door panel was messed up before and that there was nothing he could do. How about an apology and teaching your employees that this quality of work is not tolerated. If during the process of rolling a window up something doesn't seem right you stop, leave it as is, and let the customer determine the correct course of action from there. Also, a customer should never leave feeling angry and disrespected... both of which were the case with m girlfriend and I. 10/10 don't recommend! read more

I went to Pep Boys in Tyler for a brake job. I was told the job would take about two hours and headed to the waiting room (with 5 children in tow) to sit it out. When the job was complete, I was handed my receipt and told, "your all done and free to go". But I had not paid my bill! Someone else at Pep Boys that day chose to give me an anonymous blessing and the Pep Boys employees made it happen. That was a $440 blessing! I am grateful to the person who did that for me as well as to Pep Boys for their willingness to assist. And my brakes are working great. read more

On the phone they said "oh, you made an Internet appointment.When I arrived for my appointment all the bays were full,but LOTS of employees. When I gave them the keys they acted like they didn't know anything about it "oh you made an Internet appointment " again ...same statement. An hour of waiting in the customer area I went to visually check on my car. The technicians were standing around chatting and laughing while my car was sitting in the bay untouched. They saw me and stopped socializing and started on the tires two hours later here I still sit. I asked how much longer and when the lady checked she said " they say your alinement is off", I asked how much longer would that take ? She said 45 minutes. Really no, not at all, just finish I'll do alinement somewhere else. It's now over 2 hours and Myra isn't done with new tires. Check reviews and go somewhere else in Tyler for tires. read more

Well, over 2 years later, and guess what. After having my car back to the same pepboys location several more times, it still doesn't run. It's continued to sit in my driveway. 2 years and only 20 miles put on the car since the original repair. They have said they put their best mechanic on it last time it was there and he couldn't find the problem. Have used pep boys many times. Took car in few months a go to get oil leak fixed, told it was fixed. Drove it home oil light comes on and still leaking oil on floor in my garage. Call Tim(really nice guy) service mgr. at pep boys, tells me to bring it back," I ask are you sure oil light comes on and oil dripping on my garage floor"' he says, "Yes, it's probably some old oil still leaking off the motor. So I take it back, Tim (the service manger) tells me to go to back bay and talk to Tim the machanic whom worked on my car, I do Tim(Machanic) hooks computer up to car says when oil light came on it wasn't long enough to let him know what it was. He also said he got oil on wires and sensor. Light continued to go on and off oil continued to leak in garage. Sunday light kept coming on and off, Monday took it back to Pep-boys told them what had happened. Today went to pick it up, I owed $600.00, I explained (above) paid the $600.00. Went to back bay and talked to Tim(machanic) yes he remembered couldn't believe they charged me that much, he went to the front of store to try to straighten it out, everyone was to busy to help,to Care, or listen to him(he told me to wait I did no one would help). On the way home Roy the Asst. Mgr.(rocket scientist) calls me wants to argue about car still leaking oil and about oil light and oil on wires(than has to go but will call me back in 20 minutes. My wife and I are (disabled) senior citizens we don't won't to pay good money twice for what was suppose to be fixed right the 1st time. Didn't even get a Thank You or an apology.
