I came in on March 24th before closing and the woman up front was so kind and understanding as was the gentleman that removed the my nail in my tire. I was in panic mode, called before I came and they put me at ease. I called over 10 different tire locations an hour before closing and they all turned me down, saying it would be too long. Pep Boys was the one and only shop that cared and actually helped 30 minutes before closing! Gentleman at counter who helped me was kind and respectful and let me know they have to have the battery delivered from another location as they did not have it in the shop. They had my car ready the next morning, and it wound up being $15 less than he quoted me . I understand everyone's experience is different, but this is a clean normal Pep Boys and they do good work. Dangerous Service, No Accountability, and Vandalism of My Vehicle We recently had my front brake pads and rotors replaced at Pep Boys, and just two weeks later, my front right brake line failed catastrophically, leading to a complete brake failure while I was driving. This could have easily resulted in a deadly accident, putting both my life and the lives of others at risk. When I returned the vehicle to Pep Boys to address what appeared to be their error, I expected some form of accountability. Instead, they refused to take responsibility -- and, shockingly, when I went to pick up my truck today, the brake line was newly broken. This clear act of vandalism is documented, as I have time-stamped photos showing the brake line was intact when I dropped it off. I have now involved the police, who are investigating this vandalism and the danger Pep Boys has created by compromising critical vehicle safety. This is not only unprofessional but shows a complete disregard for customer safety. I work for DoorDash and I am a car advisor and every single time I go here they have no spots available for a whole week and this hasn't just happened one time this has happened to multiple times of me trying to go here horrible service as I can't even get service horrible business they don't even try to get you in. I already had to deal with the hassle of that situation and to top it off, they stole my belongings that were in my back seat. They stole my gym bag and my make up bag! Who does that?? When we called, they said let me ask around because the person that worked on your car isn't around. They called me back and said that they "checked the video and no one took it" and that "they were not responsible for items left in the cars". ?? ...well, surely you shouldn't steal them either when we're trusting that you're just repairing our vehicle? We dealt with SHAWN LEONARD. He said one caliper was sticking, and to get it fixed and they would gladly take care of us. So we got it fixed and took it back. This time SHAWN LEONARD called and said he refused to fulfill the warranty and for us to "come get our fu**ing truck or he was going to park it out on 120th"! When we went to pick it up I tried talking to SHAWN LEONARD. He immediately told me "your not my fu**ing customer so get the fu** out of my shop"! I told him that he can't speak to customers like that. He followed with, "you nothing but a fu**ing cu*t"! SHAWN LEONARD followed me out after I threw everything off his desk (sorry, not sorry) with his other employees, WES NIHISER & ALEJANDRO JUAREZ. All 3 employees continued to be verbally disrespectful!!! At one point, WES NIHISER told my husband he was going to kick his a**! What is wrong with these people? This pep boys have terrible service. The staff try to overcharge you for poorly done work or charge you to fix work that has been done poorly or incorrectly. Every time I have had work done there, I have either had to come back or go somewhere else to get an issue redone or completed. The store manager has made the excuse that since it is a chain company, he cannot change pricing or charge less to when fixing this issue, which would be a reasonable expectation when it's work being fixed or redone. I find that excuse not believable, as other pep boys locations and other mechanic chain stores are willing to correct prices when it's their error. In my experience, in the 6 years I have gone to this location, I have been talked down to or in a way that makes me believe they don't think I know anything about cars and can therefore overcharge me. Then while waiting for work to get done, which is charged by the hour, I have to watch mechanics and staff stand around talking and making offensive jokes or complaining openly about other customers. Very unprofessional. I've had good experiences at other Pep Boys that did not include any of the aforementioned experiences, so I believe it's this location that has a customer service issue. read more

The folks at PepBoys helped me out big time! My tire was deflating without any clear puncture. Called in the morning and dropped my car off. They said they were booked with appointments but could fit me in. They were able to take a look at my car within hours! They sealed the connection between the wheel and the tire where air was escaping after the recent temperature changes. Had I gone somewhere else, I feel certain that even a "small" job like this would've cost me quite a bit. They didn't charge me at all! So grateful that they were able to get me back on the road so quickly. read more

I took my car in for a transmission service. I arrived for my appointment and they got my car in right away. I was told that I don't need a transmission service as my transmission does not have a filter, it just needs a drain and fill which saved me about $75.00. Because it did not need the whole service they were done in less time than quoted. Everyone there was nice and friendly and explained everything to me. read more

Avoid this place, the manager Lonnie does not care about the customer, when told one thing from the staff and then he says something else, I was told that my vehicle would be looked at first thing in the morning, it took til 10am for it to be looked at, then it was not even started til after 3pm, and then took 3 hours to replace the alternator and battery, which is at max 1.5 hour job. When I was there another customer stated this is the third time his clutch has been done here, and the first time it took them 2.5 weeks. Also another customer had been there since 230pm for tires and this is a specialty of their shop and tire got there at 530pm. They will tell you one thing and you get another. I have been on a family road trip since the beginning of the month. I awoke this morning to a dead as a door nail battery in my Ford Escape. After the car was jump started by AAA, I drive to this Pep Boys and waited for them to open. I explained that I was driving home to California to Shawn, the Assistant Service Manager, and even though the ship was booked he managed to get a new battery installed for me in under 45 minutes for under $200. I took my Ford F150 into pepboys for a tune up as the vehicle was shaking, Pepboys completed the tune up and when the vehicle was picked up, it was shaking worse then when I took it in originally. They relooked at my truck and said it needed a timing chain which was almost a 3,000 job and I asked are you sure this is what's wrong because that is a lot of money. They assured me this would be the fix (as this was my only vehicle) and I went ahead and said complete the work. This was the start of the worst experience ever by a company. The vehicle was never fixed correctly and every time I picked the vehicle up (now keep in mind this is after they said it was fixed and ready for pick up.) it was just worse then before, I would call them and let them know that is was UNDRIVEABLE!! My truck went back and forth to their shop at least a dozen times over 2 months. They would just throw parts at my truck THINKING this would fix the problem. Again called by their master tech and manager and said yout truck is fixed come pick it up. They are now placing me and my family in an unsafe vehicle to drive. The truck would not even make it home as it would just die, while driving. I was almost rear ended and stranded on the highway multiple times. They had no clue how to fix it but kept having me bring it back, the contact and communication was horrible with at one time my truck being in their shop for a month, again I let them know I had no other vehicle and no other transportation. They sent me to the Ford dealership because they did not know what was wrong and i paid out of pocket to have my car diagnosed at a different location and take that back to pepboys for a potential fix. Last time they Pepboys called and said my truck was ready for pickup, it was shaking and dying as soon as I left the parking lot. If the vehicle was fixed or tested, the technician would have known it was unsafe to drive. Instead im back in an unsafe car. My Truck sits in front of my house broken down. read more

SCAMMERS! They told me that I "broke" my muffler and needed to pay $500 with instillation for a new one. When I picked up my car they had told me they took off my muffler and were disposing of it for me so it wouldn't catch on anything while I was driving as if they were doing me a favor. They clearly knew I didn't know much about cars so I left only for my boyfriend to tell me it was a scam and to go back and get my muffler which i did. It took me not even a whole minute to look into a nearby exhaust place, I called the first one I found and they said they could weld my muffler back on for only $50 and if mine is old, too rusty, or "broken" that it would only be $120 with instillation. Service was great and the guy at the front desk was very nice. However the issue arose when I got my car back. My tan cloth seat was covered in black stuff and somehow my seat had a bunch of wrinkles that were not there before. I understand that things get dirty, but to not even try and clean up the mess that was made. And not to mention the "extra-mile" care and cleaning that is promised on their website is obviously a lie. They say they use seat covers, but then how did my seat get so dirty. They say they disinfect high tough areas, then why was my door handle covered in black stuff. They say the disinfect your keys and give it back in a plastic bag, my key was handed to me with no plastic bag. I needed a new master cylinder and the one they put in from Napa costs $80 (online without corporate discounts) they charged me $170 for just the part, and then another $160 to put it in. I will do my best to give an un-emotional account of my horrible experience at this store. Don't ever waste your time or money at this place. I call and set up an appointment to get my brakes done on Sunday morning at 9AM. I arrive and they said they can maybe get it back to me by 2PM. First thought was, "why did I make an appointment at 9? Don't I have a reserved slot? Next fun part. I reschedule appointment to after work on the following Monday at 5PM. I get there 5 minutes early only to have the tech (whom was called in from another store) ask if I was leaving it over night. I told him politely but firmly that NO I had an appointment at 5 and I have to work at 7AM. He said he would stay late to get it taken care of. That was really nice... So I don't get any calls and luckily I was in the area so I popped in there after they had already closed. He said he tried calling me several times. I did not get a single phone call at all. The number they put into their system was so far from the number I gave them that I really wonder if the staff had every helped a customer before or even used a computer before. My hand writing is 100% legible and neat. My car had a wheel bearing problem so I had to leave the car over night. Luckily I was able to take a bus to work that morning. So the guy calls me the next morning to inform me that my 100$ brake job (I bought my own parts) is now going to cost over 500$ with the wheel bearing issue. I told them to go ahead with it. That was at 9AM. I told him I would be by after 5 to pick it up. I arrive a little after 6PM to pick it up. Stood at the front counter for 5-10 minutes without anyone even hinting at helping me. I just walked into the shop and threw my stuff in my car, which was still in the bay. 5 minutes later I see a guy drive my car out of the bay and down the road. Apparently even though its been there the entire day, they didn't test out the brakes. Next I said I had a coupon for 20$ off the brake job and the guy was like, "we already gave you free brake pads" I got really mad but stayed polite, and firmly said, I brought my own brake pads in. This was noted on my initial form I filled out."(the one with my real phone number) The guy was like OH you did? I told him it was all written down on my form and was pretty basic and straight forward. $500 later I walked out of the shop and drove home. This was by far the most painful experience I have ever had getting my car fixed. Its like these people had no idea what was going on or what appointments they had that day. So there is my novel, I'm sure I missed a few other problems I had with them but you get the idea. Don't ever go to this place. Can you say rip off. I took my car in on a Friday afternoon for a blown water hose. I didn't get until the Thursday afternoon and it was missing the rear license plate which was a retried plate that could not be replaced. The manger claims that the car was inside the whole time that it was at the shop. No old part were available for me to look at I have no way of knowing. If they replaced the parts that they say that they replaced without spending more money. I was charger coolant three times because they said that cooling system kept leaking and they had to drain it to put the new parts on. Which I think is a bunk. I am not a mechanic but in my pass few time that I have had this kind of work done a pressure test was done before coolant was put into the car. read more

I purchased a Groupon for 3 oil changes, 3 tire rotations and inspections. I scheduled the first oil change ahead of time. When I dropped the vehicle off the representative told me the service would take around an hour. 2.5 hours later the vehicle was finally finished without an inspection performed. On 2/1/13 I brought my vehicle in for the second of the 3 purchased Groupon services. As I did before, I scheduled the truck to be dropped off at a specific time and the representative (Lanny?) said the service would take about an hour. Over two hours later I received a call stating the vehicle needed over $2000 in brake related repairs and that the oil change and tire rotation weren't even completed yet. I stated I was on my way to pick the truck up to get a second opinion. I had to wait an additional hour for the oil change and tire rotation to be finished. For the second opinion I took my truck to a repair shop I typically use. The over $1200 worth of "required" repairs from Just Brakes turned out to be a $407 repair. Not only that, my shop stated Just Brakes considerably overfilled the oil. So, on May 24th, 2013 I foolishly decided I would try to redeem my 3rd Groupon service, since it was paid for. I spoke with Craig at about 10:45 AM inquiring when a good time would be to get an oil change and tire rotation. He stated that he would have 2 lifts available in about an hour and the service will take about an hour. I arrived at the Just Brakes at 12:00PM only to be told it would be at least 3 hours before he could even get to the vehicle. Who has 3 hours to sit and wait for a simple oil change and tire rotation after being told it would be an hour? I truly believe, and I could very well be mistaken, that Craig saw the Groupon and didn't want to tie up one of his bays for a Groupon service. I felt the same way the previous 2 times at this location as well. After these three consecutive poor experiences with this location, I do not plan to redeem the final service I paid for through Groupon, nor do I plan on ever stepping foot into a Just Brakes again. I just do not see how a place of business can survive with such poor customer service. read more

We were under the impression they could do brakes,drum,electric...it's the simple fact that if we knew how to do them,we wouldn't even be calling you. Being a total ass to us when we came to get our camper was also unnecessary. We have 5 vehicles other than the camper that all require brakes and with a lifetime of dealing with shady mechanics/ service tecs,we will continue to do most of the wrenching on our stuff. Monday, 5/22/17 my wife frantically calls me to let me know our car had come to a metallic grinding halt in the middle of a busy intersection. The vehicle is locked up, so it can't even be pushed out of the way. Tow truck arrives and tows it to my go to mechanics place where they discover that one of the front calipers has completely come off and got hung up in the wheel. We also found one of the bolts lying on the inside of the wheel. The bolt was in near perfect condition. Threads were good, it hadn't been sheared off, and was in good working condition. It had simply worked itself loose until the caliper fell off. There was no damage other than some crazy scratches on the wheel, so it cost me $100 to have my guy put it back together. Checked my receipts, and remembered that Just Brakes had done my brakes this past February. Only three months ago! So today I figured I'd give them a call to let them know what had happened. Repairs were cheap and already done and paid for, so I wasn't looking to make a quick buck, not interested in a lawsuit, not even trying to get a r. If anything, I was just hoping to give the guys a heads up to maybe be a little more careful. An honest 'suggestion' to maybe improve, at the very least, customer safety! Can you imagine if this had happened at highway speeds! As I explain my position, the guy doesn't even ask for my name, when I had it serviced, how can I help you? Has the car been repaired? Can we take a look at it? NOTHING! All he said at the end of my story was "ok". Not even a thanks for the call! Trust me, I work in the trades. I understand that tightening a bolt can be an honest mistake. I also know that sometimes a bolt can work its way loose. So I won't go as far as saying these guys are incompetent! A mistake is a mistake. But it's how they handled this mistake that totally lost my trust. "Yeah dude, so I understand that mistakes can happen, but this could have been deadly serious!" "So I figured I'd just give you guys a call to let you know what happened, and to politely suggest you be more careful in the future."...................................."OK" That's about how it went down! Your replies to all the bad reviews are obviously coming straight out of the company handbook for how to reply to unsatisfied customers. You state that you "would like to hear from me"????? Well the guy on the phone didn't want anything to do with me the other day, and his response was all I needed. Remember, the guy behind the counter, or the guy on the phone is the face of your organization from a customers point of view. Not "Sarah H. of Just Brakes" who only makes an appearance when it's time to put out fires by replying to negative reviews by reciting paragraphs from the corporate handbook. My issue is solved, my car has been repaired, and there is literally nothing you guys can do for me. Teach your boys back there some customer service. "I'm sorry to hear that, can I get your name so that I can pull up your service record?" Is all he needed to say when I had finished my statement. Quoted $753 for a catalytic converter replacement job. Was in a time crunch and needed the repair done quickly. Agreed to the price. Stephanie called back shortly before close to say they needed to add a sensor and a gasket. This brought the price to $1013. So another $263 for these parts? I called back the next day and challenged the cost since most sensors for my vehicle are $20-60 at a parts store and the gasket was $6-10. I didn't agree with the added fees after I had a price quoted and agreed upon. They adjusted the price but still paid $125 more than what was quoted. Very disappointed in my first experience with Pep Boys...there are other repair facilities out there that don't do business this way. read more
