    My light had blown and had a long drive ahead of me and I did not want to risk safety and the chance of getting pulled over during it for having a light out. I was referred here by AAA because it was the closest and had the earliest hours. I got there as soon as it opened with the hopes of being able to return to my day. It turned out that the shop doesn't open when the store does but it was not too long after, so that was good. I was told it would cost about $50 to get both bulbs changed (better safe than sorry I figured) including labor which ran about $10/bulb. They have complimentary WiFi which was nice and a separate waiting area which also has windows so you can watch your car being completed. While waiting I figured I would check in on Yelp and saw the reviews about time and price issues. As the time went by I was realizing that there was definitely a problem here. Again, I was the first one. Not counting the 15 minutes it took for them to open the shop it took about 45 minutes total for them to bring in my car and replace the bulbs. I can't imagine how long it would have taken had I not been first... He finally brings the paperwork to the counter and I go out and then waited 5 minutes for them to finally pull my order (there were two guys at the counter- one helping someone else the other doing some sort of filing which I'm sure could have waited while he took the 2 minutes to get me on my way). This is where the price issue comes into play. As I'm paying the guy makes a surprise look and mentions how he was surprised it cost that much. I didn't really think twice about it until then, if the staff makes a comment like that then there must be something going on. Annoyed with the place and having expected to be out of there much sooner I realized that though it is a good concept being able to buy what you want and get it installed in the next room, Pep Boys just doesn't have the "pep" that the name claims. EDIT: I appreciate that time was taken to address my experience. As this was a pass through visit not much can be done, in my view, besides showing genuine concern and allowing then the opportunity to take my opinions and use them as they will. However, reviewers take note. They might go back to find your information and call you before you give them the okay to initiate contact. While this may be in the spirit of addressing issues I felt it to be rather invasive that they went through their files for the sole purpose of finding my number and calling me. I recommend that the business uses the features Yelp has (public comment, private message) to initiate contact and not cold calling reviewers.

    This particular Pep Boys has a very talented group of mechanics. Over the past 9 years, I have taken my 1929 Mercedes Gazelle Kit Car over here to have work done, replace specific (and difficult to find) parts and general maintenance. This work has kept my car running (took a road trip last August). Unlike other garages, the staff at this Pep Boys always has found a way to say "we'll make it happen."

    I've passed by this place so many times, never knowing that this year would be my first time…read moreactually stopping in. I normally go to Jiffy Lube (when they want to act right) to get my emissions test done. If you live in Georgia, you know the whole song and dance we have to go through every year just to get our tags. I called two Jiffy Lube locations -- one told me their machine wasn't working (hard eye roll, because that always seems to be the case), and the other told me no one was there to do it (another eye roll). I was on a mission to be on time with my registration this year. I wasn't about to pay another late fee this year like I have in previous years (don't judge me! ). So I kept calling around and came across this place. I saw the ratings were good and that they actually had someone there, so I drove right over. I was a little taken aback at first because I'm used to getting out of my car and waiting inside while they do the test. Nope -- not here. You stay in your car, which honestly isn't bad at all. The gentleman who helped me (I wish I remembered his name) was great. He was polite and kind. It was raining and a little chilly that morning, but that didn't stop him. He got everything done quickly, and I made sure to blow my horn once he was inside because there's a sign that says to honk if you received great service lol. So make sure ya'll honk! I'd definitely consider coming here again. I even brought my laptop thinking I'd be waiting forever, but I was in and out and back home in time for my meeting. I highly recommend this location. On July 1st, I scheduled an appointment for new tires after being explicitly assured they would be shipped from another location and installed by 10:00 AM. I arrived at 8:00 AM sharp -- only to be told the tires wouldn't arrive until 2:00 PM. I had to cancel my entire day of patients, losing over $1,000 in income, while still being charged more than $1,700 for the tires. Since then, I've tried multiple times to contact the regional manager, Ebony, and have never received a single call back. Corporate offered me $25 off a future service -- a laughable slap in the face after the financial and professional damage I incurred. The store's manager then told me the best they could do was 25% off a $200 alignment. To make matters worse, just one week later, I experienced another flat tire -- despite having driven only between work and home and avoiding any risky terrain. The nail appeared to be brand new when they "found" it and showed no signs of wear like it had been driven on. What's worse than the lack of professionalism is the complete lack of accountability. Mavis clearly does not care how their negligence affects working professionals, their schedules, or their safety. Their customer service model is to overpromise, underdeliver, and ignore complaints until the customer gives up. I will never return, and I urge anyone reading this: if your time, your money, or your safety matter to you -- go anywhere else.
