I came here on an emergency late Friday night. After coming back from my trip at the airport my car had a flat and I had to call triple A and they came and helped and pep boys was the only one open to help remove the nail and patch up my tire. I called first and the employee Robert was super helpful and let me know that it would be a quick fix. When I got there they were super quick and the other employee Eddie was also super helpful and let me know the condition of my tires. I already knew I needed new ones but I'm not ready just yet because I know they're pricey. But Robert quoted me on a few tires they had available and printed the quotes out for me for future reference. I'll most likely be coming back to get my tires here for sure. and if you get your tires here they give you free tire rotations. read more

I got a oil change for my 2020 Hyundai car (not going to reveal any more details on that) came possibly at the end of the day after work since I was going out of town to Albuquerque for the weekend. Thought everything was peachy, a few weeks later found out my car stared leaking oil every time I would stop anywhere! It's basically a new car that had no issues whatsoever!! My tire guy who had my car for 2 days recently revealed that the oil filter wasn't screwed on properly!! I get it's the end of the day but either don't do the job or do it right! Anyways my guy did what he could to stop the little leak I had. If I would have known this would happen I just would have saved myself the time and money and just not stopped here. Okay so I'm here because my government vehicle has to get serviced here. They state they open at 7:30 and the door is not open at 7:33. Hmmmm. If you open at 7:30 open at that time. So I'm standing by the door and the guy asks me to move my car. OPPS I'm on a fire lane. He takes my coupon and says he's gonna help me. I walk in and guess what, he's helping someone else? Wait what? One person for both service and sales? Eh I guess this is why I don't come here. I know that dealerships usually charge more but at least the service is better. It's 7:36 and my car is not getting attention. What do you do on government time? Wait I suppose. Only here cause I have to be. 7:37 nothing yet. 7:38 and now all the garage doors at service are open. Manager has yet to put money in register. He apologies and comes. The inspector gets here at 8. I bought some tires and a road hazard warranty from a different Pep Boys almost two years/25,000 miles ago. Today one of those tires was flat - a nail or other road hazard. Brought the car to the Mesa Pep Boys and was told the warranty didn't matter. I'd need to buy a new tire. Why not buy four tires while I was at it?! Decided to drive to the East Side to this Pep Boys and they hooked me right up. They honored the warranty, sold me a new tire for the pro-rated cost, and had me out the door in 90 minutes. I don't recommend them for any car services or mechanical work. It's kind of hard to run a dye test for a leak in your AC when the compressor isn't kicking on. They still charged me $40 for a test that wasn't done properly. Then gave me an inflated estimate with parts double the price of my car dealer. I had some service performed to my car here, and while I was very satisfied with the price and quality of the work, as well as the friendliness of the attendant, I've come to find that they did diagnose my car with problems it didn't have to get me to buy more repairs. I stopped by Pep Boys (7465 N Mesa St, El Paso, TX 79912)on 4/25/20 (Saturday night) at about 5:15p.m. (They close at 6pm) with a tire off of the vehicle, that needed a new tire valve stem put in. Now, I've changed tires all through college, and bet on even a slow-paced effort, it would take 7-10 min to change a valve stem. Note, I did not even need the tire filled with air, just simply break the bead, use a valve stem puller, pull the old one pull a new one in. Done. I would have gladly paid whatever asked as I work during the weekend and need the car desperately. The guy that helped me was mopping the floor when I walked in and I stated, Hello, can you put in a new valve stem in this tire (the one in front of me off the vehicle) I'll even leave it. He stated no, we are too busy currently (shocked that I asked for his service). I was equally Shocked, that I couldn't even leave it, I said ok, and I left. I get it, it was 45 min before they closed and his focus was going home. It's ok, though, I went to Fire Stone on Sunday morning and in about 7 minutes, had the valve stem fixed and didn't even charge me.(I tipped them a $50 for excellent customer service) Know, on Monday during my video conferences I will tell my story to the members who maintain a fleet of vehicles. On Saturday, January 12, 2013, I experienced one of the most kindest gestures from the Pep Boys Automotive staff. My son and I began our day very early. Our plan was to get his vehicle ready for his trip to Ruidoso, New Mexico. He was to leave at 6 am and I was in a hurry to have his vehicle ready for his trip. His tires needed to be replaced, an alignment and it was time for an oil change. My husband had called several places, the most reasonable turned out to be Discount Tires, so we thought. We dropped off our vehicle at Discount Tires to have the tires replaced and was advised by the Sales Rep that Discount Tires does not do alignments so we arranged an appointment with Juan Moncayo, Service Advisor at Pep Boys to have the alignment done there. All the while we managed to run errands and go to a birthday party. I received a call from Discount Tires that our car was ready to be picked up. My invoice showed that I had purchased 4 Goodyear Eagle tires. I dropped off our car at Pep Boys at 2:30 pm and while I was waiting in the lobby to be picked up by my son, I asked Sam Casillas, Service Advisor, if the Goodyear Eagle tires were good tires. Mr. Casillas, SA was kind enough to walk out to our car parked outside waiting to be worked on to look at the new tires I had just purchased. To my surprise, Mr. Casillas, SA pointed out that I didn't have Goodyear Eagle tires on my car, but Goodride tires on my son's car, a difference of almost $100.00 per tire. Mr. Casillas, SA looked at my invoice and proceeded to call Discount Tires to make sure it was an an honest error on Discount Tire's part. The Sales Rep at Discount Tires assured Mr. Casillas, SA that it had been an honest mistake, an that the code for the Goodyear Eagle tires was entered incorrectly. The Sales Rep at Discount Tires was willing to exchange the tires once Pep Boys had completed the alignment and the oil change, but we were soon approaching closing time at Discount Tires by now, as they close at 5 pm. Mr. Casillas, SA, explained the situation to Ralph Reyes, Service Manager at Pep Boys and got my vehicle worked on as soon as they could. Although Mr. Casillas had other responsibilities pending, he assisted in helping with the oil change, just to make sure I was able to make it to Discount Tires before they closed. That evening I was certain, Mr. Casillas had gone beyond what I had expected. His overwhelming kindness to help out a mother in complete desperation is something I will never forget. I will always be grateful to Samuel Casillas SA, Juan Moncayo SA, Ralph Reyes Service Manager, and Gilbert Reza Store Manager for everything that was done that evening to help me and my family get my son's car ready for his trip. My husband and I have have been going to Pep Boys to have work done on our cars for years. We will continue to place our TRUST and SAFETY in the Service Department at Pep Boys on Yarbrough to service our cars for our entire family! Thank you! read more

I went in to this location to get my front brakes replaced with new brakes . Brake pads, Roters , front disc !!! Everything should have been brand new. Given the fact that I paid 330 dollars for this to be done. I waited three hours to get my car back. I also went three times to this Pepboys to have them check my car because they did not do the job right the first time. I heard a terrible screeching sound as well as a heavy grinding sound for two weeks. It is unbelievable to me, that I went three times to this service center within those two weeks. And they were not able to fix my car. I am very unsatisfied with the service here. I have wasted my time and money. Literally three hours each time for them to inspect my car and see whats going on with the vehicle. If something needed to be replaced they should have replaced it as everything is on warranty. Very unreliable establishment. I believe that Pepboys hires anybody to work for them. As long as they are getting money that's all that matters. Giving good service does not seem like a priority. I DO not recommend this place. I'm also going to request my money back. I have videos to prove that my car has a terrible sound echoing the street every time I drive. It's really frustrating to have to deal with this for as long as I did. Just an FYI Ralph is the GM. I never see him there. A bunch of people that don't want to work, are running that place! This is a safety hazard that needed to be addressed immediately. I was barely told what was wrong with my car because all those employees have an attitude. But now I know what's up!!! I had my brakes replaced at this location not too long ago. The brakes were behaving oddly when they returned my vehicle to me. Not even a day afterwards the brakes broke entirely at an intersection. Although they fixed the vehicle for free, they took a couple of days to finish the work and refused to offer me a rental vehicle during the repair. On top of that, they did not compensate me for the incident. I do not recommend doing business with this location. read more

Had two bad interactions with a technician from the George Dieter location, finally had time to take my vehicle back to this location (one that has never given me bad service). The sales rep Manny was very professional and the technician Victor Castillo did a great job on my SUV.
