My experience with Signature Staffing was mixed. There is one lady running the whole show, so…read moreshe's fairly busy. It is difficult getting in touch with her and when you do see her, she doesn't spend much time with you. Which basically means she has a "perfect opportunity" for you that just showed up on her desk, yet she doesn't know what kind of job you want. I do have to give her props since she did give me my current job (a temp-to-hire position), but not without struggle first. She sent me to an interview with Beth Israel's Liver Center. After the interview, I explained to her I wasn't interested in working with patients and I also went into how I had another interview with another company and wanted to see how that played out. She got mad at me for not telling her about the other interview and went on to tell me if I didn't take this job, I'd never get one because I was competing with Harvard and MIT students. She also said something about how most people don't have the luxury to wait around for another job (I didn't either, but I also didn't want to be miserable). Finally, after quite a few trips to her office, she asked what I wanted (or at least I was given 5 minutes to finally tell her what I was looking for) and then I ended where I am today. If you can, try to wedge in what job you want to begin with. She might have the job, just not the 5 minutes to listen to what it is you want unless you come right out with it.

Applied online and got a call back from Jen who was very friendly, told me to come take a visit for an interview. The building was very nice, prime location in Financial District. Front desk person asked me to fill out an application and led me to Jen after. Jen was telling me that she has been working at John Leonard for almost 30 years holy moly! She was very professional, knew what she was doing, and sounded like she has a great relationship with their clients (employers). Asked me couple questions about my skills and experience, what I want to do in a long run. After the interview, she explained some of the jobs they have in the system and asked me if any of those spark my interest. Really liked this short term assignment in Cambridge, was places there a week after that interview! Went through many assignments with various employers through John Leonard so far, was a great experience to work with all those employers. John Leonard seems to have a good clientele of employers that would treat you well as long as you do your job! Long story short- no matter what kind of career goals you have, John Leonard will listen to you, learn your story to find a great assignments that fit to your needs and qualification! I contracted to work with Roessel Joy and stayed under their employ for approximately 6 months…read morebefore getting hired directly with the company I was originally placed. After 6 months of being on the job (approximately 1 year after starting with Roessel Joy), Jonas Roessel contacted me and insisted I interview with a new company that Roessel Joy was working with. Jonas Roessel stated that I would be an excellent fit for the new role and went on to describe my current placement disparagingly. I said I was not interested as the new role was not in keeping with my career trajectory, but Jonas Roessel insisted I interview for the new role. I reluctantly agreed in order to maintain goodwill with Roessel Joy. After several interviews with the new company, I was certain I was not interested. I referred a colleague in my stead to Roessel Joy - they followed up with me to be certain of whom to contact and how. I prepped my colleague with the notes from my interview, and they were able to get the job. Upon my colleague's 90th day of employment, I requested my referral fee from Roessell Joy, they refused. Roessel Joy claimed that because my colleague had previously applied to a different role with their agency, they organically contacted them about the same position. That Roessel Joy did not receive a referral's name and information from me, but rather their database, and that I was not entitled to the referral fee. They did however, offer to venmo me $100. When I asked Roessel Joy what the $100 was for, they declined to respond. This offer is documented via email as well as significant portions of this account. Roessel Joy was not considering my colleague until I referred them. Roessel Joy was dishonest and failed to pay me for my referral. Roessel Joy offered to pay me $100 but denies I referred them to a successful hire. Roessel Joy attempted to poach a direct placement, and any other candidates they came in contact with from businesses paying them for placement. Jonas Roessell was incredibly unprofessional and essentially bullied me into interviewing for a role that was not a good fit for me but would bring revenue to his bottom line. Additionally, Roessel Joy was unhelpful in negotiating my direct hire terms, securing performance reviews, and addressing my concerns about employment.

The owners must be as well. She had to have open heart surgery last year and the employees helped her incredibly by giving her THEIR time off! Somehow, through HR and the awesomeness of these folks' human nature and the company this was able to happen. I live across the country and could not feel better about a place of employment for my mom. I've met the individuals that she takes to places of employment or enjoyment, on a daily basis. The are beautiful respected and cared for. Especially by my mom! She loves her job. She loves these people and I am so thankful.

I went months and months of applying endlessly, and the only interviews I seem to get were the ones where I had a connection (and I'm not particularly good with networking to begin with, so they were far and few). I searched for 'top recruiters in Boston' and let's just say they all disappointed. I won't mention them by name, but they wasted my time, gave me false hope and had little follow-through on their part, with no contact for months, and I would get pathetic, measly replies after hounding them. After being burnt several times by useless recruiting agencies (you know who you are), I decided that I will try the next one down the list, with no expectations whatsoever. I worked primarily with Dave, and he was so caring and kind, and I finally felt I had my own cheerleader in this dreadful job hunting process. Within a week, he had 3 interviews lined up for me. Within 2.5 weeks, from first contact, I started my new job! I would've started sooner if it weren't for the holidays. They really follow-through, and when they say they're looking for openings for you, they mean it! Before every interview, I had a call with Dave to prep me for what's to come. I didn't even ask for it -- he just did it! They went above and beyond, and they continue to keep in touch with me to make sure all is good in the new place. I met several former Manning candidates in this job and other places I interviewed, and they all have nothing but amazing things to say, and it's no surprise there. I know at this point I am sounding like I get commission for endorsements lol, but the truth is, I was in a difficult spot, mentally, financially, and I would want anyone else in a similar situation to find the same help that I did. Vocational rehabilitation, if you will. Save yourself the frustration, and start with them first.
