They recommended so many amazing places to eat and shop, in and out of the property. The prices for food on the property were reasonable and there were a lot of different options for food choices. The big Concha restaurant on the property is absolutely gorgeous at night but it is a bit pricier than the other food options on the property. There are 4 pool ameneties you can choose from, with one being adults only. I loved that you have the different pool options. However, I wish the pools were bigger. I felt like it made more sense to have fewer pools but, bigger to fit more people but, we were comfortable in each. The beach is beautiful and every day there were plenty of surfers riding the high tide waves. It wasn't the best beach for swimming since the tide was so high and waves were really strong but, lifeguards are on the property to help those who have trouble getting in and out. We stayed close to shore to prevent any accidents and enjoyed watching surfers ride the waves each day.

We have two sound machines (white noise makers) on, and they can't even drown out the annoying heavy-bass music. Called front desk and was told it turns off around 4am! I picked Posada San Francisco because of location and lack of kids. There are no adults-only…read moreresorts on Puerto Rico, and I figured a hostel was my best bet. And it turned out to be a great idea. The location is perfect. On the outer edge of Old San Juan (OSJ) you are only minutes away from anything in the area but out of the huge tourist crush from the other end of town. When looking at a map of Old San Juan you will think it's bigger than it is. To walk from the Posada to El Morro on the opposite tip of OSJ might take 15-20 minutes at a leisurely pace. I booked the standard double bed private shared room. It cost me $58 per night because I had to pay for 2 people instead of just myself. The single supplement sucks, but it's still inexpensive. The room was clean, clean, clean. And the satellite TV and air conditioning worked. I had to share bathrooms but one was always available when I needed it and they were always relatively clean if not just clean. I appreciated that the other guests during my stay were not slobs. The women working the desk and the one man I saw regularly were always polite and friendly. No issues with service. I used the washer and dryer while I was there, but I got up early to do it so there was no wait. And they are both in good condition - either new or very well-kept. All in all, my four night stay cost me $252 which includes taxes and online processing fees. That amount would have gotten me one night at a resort or hotel. For the price and location, Posada San Francisco really can't be beat, and I would stay here again. Tip: Because I stayed on the 6th floor, I didn't interact much with the other guests. If you're on the 4th floor with the dorms, you'll meet more people. Tip 2: They rent bikes for cheap. Don't forget that. I did.

Lots of restaurants and tourist shops around to venture towards and located beside the fort. It's a great location, and with another gal pal - I felt safe walking the streets around the area even in the evenings. For $34/night including taxes and fees, it's totally worth the humble hostel environment. Great balcony views, huge kitchen on 5th floor, small fridge in room, flat screen tv and personal AC unit. Rooms open with key cards and on my floor (6th) there were three bathrooms to share on the hall. Bathrooms are not dorm style where multiple ppl are in them but single bathrooms where you close the door and lock behind you. One has a shower stall and the other an actual tub. I Never had to fight for the bathroom or wait. I saw a cleaning lady everyday and the bathrooms were clean but bring your own toiletries and even a hand towel to dry off. You do get a bath towel for each person in the room. Certainly not bad at all ...

The owner/tour guide is great. He is extremely informative and friendly. The tour is well worth the money, and we are so glad we got to explore the fort on Segway instead of on foot. It was extremely hot, and riding/driving the Segway is the way to go. You get the breeze AND don't have to walk that long stretch to the fort. I would highly recommend this to EVERYONE. It's soo easy to learn how to ride the Segway. It may be intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it, it's sooo much fun. My biggest recommendation to the owner is that to give better instructions on how to find the place. I was sooo confused where exactly the location was.

He spent about 10 mins explaining how to control the Segway and about 10 more mins where our party of 7 practiced on the segway, just outside the shop. Two of our party have been on about 4 other Segway tours before and said this was the best instruction they were ever given. The 20 mins was perfect, for beginners and experienced riders both. The tour it self was also outstanding. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the island. He issued everyone remote ear pieces in which he provided (via microphone) a constant description of what we were seeing. The Segway riding was challenging due to the steep slopes, cobblestone streets and traffic. Not for young riders, but suitable for our youngest boy at age 13 and us (50s). Highly recommend this!!!

I am a very light sleeper, so I did notice the street noise from an active area in any type of city. My wife and couple we were travelling with had no problems. But to be this close to everything, this was a non-issue for me because the B&B and location are really top-notch. If you want the best of all worlds when staying in the old San Juan area, this is the place to be.

The room is so cute and clean, and it is walking distance to so many shops, bars, and restaurants. Breakfast each morning was delicious and didn't ever leave me hungry (bowl of fresh fruit and coffee and juice). Next time we want to visit San Juan, we will definitely stay here again! They also suggested a couple other b&bs to visit (Casa Flamboyant and Dos Aguas--make sure to check them out, too!) ***PRO TIP: If you intend on being in San Juan for more than a day, I HIGHLY recommend not having a car until you decide to leave and explore other parts of the Island. Everything is walking distance so there's no need to drive (or you can Uber). If you absolutely have to pick up your rental car right off the bat, you will have to park you car overnight in a garage or a lot. There is a $3/day lot that is a little bit of a walk, near the National Guard base. Drop off your luggage with someone in your party and they'll check in, and you should park your car there.
