The two guys arrived were pretty unprofessional. In the end they scratched the hardwood floor of the new construction house we moved into in multiple places. They did a pretty good job hiding the damages with the help of other boxes. We found out the damages when we started unpacking. Also damaged one of our book shelfs. I do not often post reviews but my experience had a twist which is why I wanted to share my story. I found scheduling, communication, and moving day to be a nearly flawless. The crew was friendly, attentive, and fast. The three gentlemen I received move my home very fast and slightly under the estimate. The hiccup came, though, when one of the movers accidentally chipped a bedroom door frame while moving a piece of furniture. They weren't being careless, it's just one of those things that happen, but what sold me is that he stopped what he was doing, came right to me and explained what happened. We surveyed the damage together and took pictures. I contacted the office and they assured me they would pay for the damage. I got estimates and had the damaged repaired and received a check from People Movers within 48 hours of sending them the invoice. They even gave me a discount for the inconvenience. I have the same expectations as anyone. I want my movers to be careful and efficient. But I also know that accidents happen. This situation was minor but the crew was upfront, honest, very apologetic, and management and the team handled it fast and with great professionalism. It's great when everything goes smoothly and without a hitch, but the mark of integrity is how you handle problems. These guys did everything I could hope for and for that reason, I highly recommend them and won't hesitate to use them again. People Movers is great. read more

We chose People Movers because of the reviews and great pricing. The movers came inadequately equipped (two p-handle hand trucks are definitely not enough for moving a 2 bedroom apartment!) and therefore took longer to finish the move. We've moved thrice in a year with different moving companies and this was by far the most disappointing experience we had. The guys spent the first 45-60mins just getting their minimal equipment from the truck to the apt and hanging around. Prior to the move, we had elaborately explained the distance they would need to cover to get to the elevator and to the parked truck and the list of things that needed to be moved, precisely so that they could come well equipped to get the work done efficiently. We ended up getting a discount for 45mins because the guys had scratched our bed's headboard while unloading. I wouldn't recommend them to my colleagues or friends. My suggestion: don't fall for the low pricing unless you want be penny wise and pound foolish. If you do go for them, do ensure to ask them about the equipment they would be getting and get it written on your contract. Another general tip from experience, when you book the slot make sure you are either the second or the last job. but not the first job. They would hurry up to get to the next one and work smartly and efficiently in the process. read more

We loved having People Movers move our household goods from Magnolia to Edmonds. They did a great job, and took care in moving our belongings. We have several heavy pieces and they made sure they handled them with care. We moved into a new townhouse, and we needed a very heavy sleeper sofa moved to the third floor into a bedroom that had too narrow of a door opening. They removed the door carefully and got the sofa in! Amazing. Without a scratch on the wall or molding. We could not recommend this company enough! Thanks again! read more

When we originally moved we used two guys and a moving van, they were FANTASTIC. They charged us $600 to do our entire house, they had professional equipment and even handled our piano. Our realtor wanted to try these guys so we gave it a shot. People Movers took longer to move only 30% of our house, they trudged all over our freshly cleaned carpets and got them very dirty, they scraped the wall and charged us $550 to move less than 1/3 of our house. To top it all off, they left plastic wrap all over the yard of the house they dropped it off at. The one thing they were good with is they wrapped things to ensure nothing was broken. That said, again, the other company did over 3x the amount of work in about the same time and they moved far heavier and more difficult items without damaging anything, without making a mess of our carpets and the other company didn't leave their garbage all over the lawn. After this experience I have a hard time believing the existing reviews on here are not friends or fake accounts because this was a HUGE miss. Definitely recommend!! I emailed People Movers amongst others to get a quote on moving all of my household furniture. People movers were the first to respond, most thorough and a solid quote. I ended up choosing People Movers especially after reading some not-so-great reviews on other moving companies. As promised they called me a day before the move (scheduled 10 days out) to confirm my appointment and told me the guys would arrive between 9-10am the next morning. Ben and his team showed up Right at 9:15am. After reviewing everything Ben and his team got to moving immediately. They worked efficiently, wrapped all the furniture and boxed up some of the loose items needing to be moved. These guys ended up moving more stuff than I originally planned on having them move and did it below the original amount quoted. Ben and his team were very polite and did a great job. I won't be calling anyone else next time I have to move. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Was quoted one price on Thumbtack for a date in June and when I reached out to schedule, I was told their prices had JUST increased for the summer months (to take advantage of home buying season I'm sure) and the new quote was $30 more per hour! The gal we talked to was the furthest thing from being customer oriented and it was apparent they just wanted to suck up as much money as possible. Makes me wonder what else they would have screwed us over on. Don't waste your money or your time in even asking for a quote. Jamel and Momo showed up on time and moved all our stuff from apartment into a truck, including some big kid toys which we planned to move ourselves. Then they unloaded everything very carefully from both the truck and the PODS container that we had at out new place. No scratches or any other damage. They were fast and careful. After I posted the previous review, I was contacted by the company. They explained that they had input the wrong number and thus couldn't contact me. The movers had apparently arrived and not being able to contact us, had asked their manager who again tried calling. They assumed that we had changed our mind and left. We had corresponded by email and Thumbtack so they did have those means, but anyway. They offered to pay the cost of UHaul, but I asked them to help with moving a sectional that we had moved to the new place, but couldn't lift up the stairs. Next morning they called and explained the error again, and offered to have people come over to help move the sectional. I asked them to come by on Saturday since we would be at work from 8-6:30 that week. They said they couldn't do after 6:30 PM, but called back and said someone would come by after 6:30 the same or the next day. That day around 6:45 PM I got a call saying they would be arriving around 7 PM. The two people who came by were extremely efficient and moved the couches with skill. The updated rating is mainly due to them. If they were the only folks we had to deal with, I would have rated highly. The reason for the lower rating is in the end, we did have to move everything ourselves between the two houses, which made for a very exhausting weekend. Plus, moving is not a fun thing and movers are hired to reduce that stress, not add to it. If they had confirmed the number by email or Thumbtack once they couldn't contact me (since they did say they would confirm the day before), it would have gone much smoother. read more

I never leave negative reviews, but I would want to know about the experience I had with People Movers, especially with all the positive reviews posted. Please note, this review has nothing to do with the movers themselves. They were very professional, kind, and fast. This is a review for the administrative side of People Movers. We booked our move to begin between 8 and 9am on a Tuesday. We received a call on Monday saying they had double booked us, and they wouldn't be coming until between 2 and 5pm. Ok, not ideal but not the worst situation for us. The movers didn't show up until 6:45pm. We took off a day from work for no reason. Our move was supposed to be finished originally by 12pm at the latest, and it wasn't done until 9pm. I am highly disappointed in this service. I expected a lot after reading so many positive reviews. I'm happy to update this review if People Movers makes this right and refunds our money, but as of now they have done nothing except offer us $40 to cover the cost of parking barricade signs. read more

Zaran was my mover and he was great. They were really fast and moved my 1 bedroom in 2 hours. Unfortunately it is s minimum charge of 3 hours. Two young men shows up on time. Check all the stuff needed moved and move fast. Wrap all fragile furniture before moving. It's a very good beginning. However, they are not very careful at moving furniture. Bump my night stand and scratch my front door. Fine, I can find paint to fix them. I still paid tip to thanks for their hard working. The last thing to make me post this review is that they just throw the plastic wrap in front of my door and left. Very unprofessional. UNBELIEVABLE! I called them last week to move some furniture and equipment for a remodel. I got a confirmation with a two hour window. THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP. THEY DIDN'T EVEN CALL UNTIL TWO HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES AFTER THE TWO HOUR WINDOW. The guy that called said that they had been late on the last job. By the time they called I had already sent out a panic call to other people- RELIABLE people that came through at the last moment. It made a stressful day even more stressful. I don't typically write reviews on Yelp and think that people need to know this information before they spend time getting a quote. People Movers payment methods leave a lot to be desired. They do not accept checks of any kind including bank cashier checks. If you choose to pay by credit card they will charge an additional 5% of the bid. In my case it was over $40. I would only recommend this moving group if you don't mind carrying large amounts of cash or paying additional fees to use your credit card. read more
