Possibly my new favorite Penzey's!! They have two different entrances - one with a ramp, the other with stairs. The place is so wide open and they have a cute area for kids to play, draw, etc. Really loved the elevator and how they set up the space. Such a great store. We have been to several locations including Naperville Il and Brookfield wi but this is the nicest store. It really large and well laid out. I was not aware it was here and it was a great surprise to happen upon it. You can stop in and not buy a bunch of stuff. The service was excellent and the store is great. read more

I stopped shopping here several years ago after reading numerous and repeated political tirades against conservatives. They obviously didn't care about my business and continued support. I have since discovered a new Spice Company, called "My Spice Sage" which is excellent. I have been a Penzey customer for a good number of years. This is the store I frequent the most as it is the closest to my home and I love Cedarburg in general. I also visit the DT Milwaukee, Wauwatosa and Hartland stores when I have business or errands in those areas, although those visits are infrequent. I also order online frequently as I am an adventurous cook who loves to enhance my meals with good spices and go through them kind of quickly. How quickly? Just check out my last 10 on line orders in the pic. Online ordering is easy and awesome-try the gift boxes too. My family and friends love them. This store, as well as the others I patronize, is clean and well organized. The scent of all those wonderful products is heavenly. Pricing is in line with other businesses that specialize in fresh pure spices. The staff at this store is always friendly and helpful and I found the same to be true of the other stores that I have patronized. Try Penzey spices - you won't be disappointed. (P.S. I wish there was a way to give 1/2 a star. Received product (delivery was timely but took a week to place order). It was obvious when I received the spices that it had been reused. This is the newest of the Penzeys stores. It's located in historic downtown Cedarburg (the entire downtown is on the National Registry of Historic Places.) Penzeys is located in what was a furniture store, in fact, it was an undertaker's shop with furniture as a sideline when the business was founded. The building has a lot of character, including beautiful maple floors and open ironwork. The freight elevator, inoperable, is used for display. Being a former furniture store, there is a large display window that doesn't lend itself very well for packages of 2 or 4 ounces, but the company name is tastefully emblazoned on the glass. Being a spice store, your nose goes into olfactory glee when you enter. Spices are attractively displayed, each spice is packaged in several sizes but each spice is also displayed in an apothecary jar, with an explanation of the spice. You can open each apothecary jar an inhale the delightful aroma. If you are a serious foodie, this is a necessary supplier of the freshest spices to turn mundane meals into culinary delights. read more

This Penzey's store is absolutely beautiful - they bought an old furniture store and completely remodeled the interior but left some of the old elements intact (including a freight elevator from the 20's). It's an open, airy space with plenty of room to browse, taste and smell the products. I needed a restock on some basics and found everything I needed and then some. They really do have every spice and herb you've ever heard of and many that you haven't - plus there are spice blends, salad dressing bases and soup starters galore. If you're trying to be healthy, there are a good number of no-salt blends that add a ton of flavor to dishes. Or, there's a spice mix to add to frozen pizza so it doesn't taste like cardboard crap. I'll be honest - my personal preference is the Spice House for spices - I think they're a little cheaper and I love their staff, but I won't say no to Penzey's if I'm nearby. read more

What's not to love about Penzey's and it's latest addition to the Cedarburg downtown main street. The place is great to walk through with various areas that focus on different spices for baking, cooking ethnic food, etc. I love the baking area since it is set in the 50s with the old decor. Penzeys is a perfect into into Cedarburg and adds all the value of the huge space with all the spices across the street from the butcher and next to the bakery. Since Penzy opened I am a regular customer. The interior design is a mix of vintage industrial with modern influences. From the exotic spice to simple dried ingredients this is your place. This gem served as my sanctuary during Strawberry Fest. It's new, airy, and nicely done. They kept the industrial touches while making it suitable for the less modern (it's sorta like an Alterra for spices). It feels silly reviewing this place because it is so nice, but credit is due. If they start serving food, it will rival the Anvil Pub & Grille for nicest use of an old building in Cedarburg. read more
