Penny Seat covers has been around for a long time and I have done business with them several times in the past. They have done good work but my latest experience wasn't so good. Before going to all the work of hauling my heavy Jeep seats in, I called then texted several pictures of the damage for both seats. I included the fact that a cat had clawed them. I had to ping him again to get him to respond. He told me he would let me know after his lunch. After the reminder he then said $250 to $350. The price sounded reasonable so I said I would be in. I then took my lunch hour and asked a friend to help me heft the heavy seats to the back of my truck and drove out to Orem to drop them off. After hauling them inside again with my friend, and calling out the owner appeared and I showed him the seats. We counted 8 panels that needed work as the pictures clearly showed. I was then given a new bid of $450. I reminded him that he had quoted me $250 to $350 and he stumbled for a few seconds then said. "Both seats." Which makes no sense at all. Both seats would have been at least $500 or $700 given the range he quoted me so he clearly didn't really look at the pictures and didn't care enough about his customer to ask questions and give a fair and honest quote. My biggest frustration was his attitude of I don't really want to do the work anyway. I get it, I am sure it is a lot of work and both seats had 4 panels that had to be replaced. I have done automotive upholstery work in the past and It isn't an easy job. However, I went to the trouble to take pictures haul the seats to him and then be told something different than the quote was his bad, not mine. I then offered him the quoted price and he said "No thank you." and rudely walked away. I get the feeling he doesn't really want to be in business anymore and definitely he feels like his time is worth more than mine. Brand new high-back seats on Amazon were less than his quote so I guess he did me a favor. Sad that we can't get good service locally anymore. read more

I had Penny repair my seat and put on a new convertible top. I was happy with the seat repair and initially with the top installation. However, the first time it rained, the roof leaked substantially in the same place on both sides. I stopped by to ask about them fixing it, then called a half dozen times after that. I was told they needed to find when their installer would be working next and call me back with that information. Noone ever did. read more
