Had my first Porkroll bagel here. Not really a fan of the Porkroll but the bagel was good. Excellent customer service! Would definitely eat here again (something other than a Porkroll). Also the first time I've seen someone in public in a bathrobe and slippers. And I thought pajamas in public was bad. :) Bring back the pajamas!! read more

Very good bagels! I was surprised to find bagels I liked this much somewhere other than the places in my town. I give four stars because I am a bagel fanatic and I only give 5 stars where I feel like I am getting the best bagel. These bagels were fresh. I have never had a better bagel than from Pennington Bagel. I grew up in the area, but now live outside of the the US. Pennington Bagel is on my list every time I'm home! I've also introduced it to a few foreign friends who have loved it! I'm told their sandwiches are the best, but I love their cinnamon sugar and french toasts bagels. There is usually a line, but it moves quickly enough. I simply don't go if I'm in a rush. The high school and college staff are usually pleasant, but rushed. However, I do think that there are a few members of staff whose attitude could use improvement- they could at least attempt a smile or a thank you. But, I don't go there for the small talk, the bagels are amazing! read more

A true Pennington institution with 5-star quality and 3.5 star service. They always seem very busy which shows you how much people love the bagels, but the wait can be extremely long at times. Go during the off times and you won't have to worry about it. There sandwiches are a family favorite and they do nice catering trays for an office breakfast. read more

I've been to P-Bagel several times since I love their bagel sandwiches. Sure, you usually have to wait in a long line, but once you know to expect a line, it's not a big deal. Also, the student employees working the counter are very friendly. However, the last time I went, the owner/manager (not sure) insisted that a side (either mac salad or potato salad) did not come with the combo for my sandwich. I asked what comes with the combo and she said it's just a sandwich -- which basically means there is no combo, even though the overhead menu clearly differentiated between the sandwich-only price and the combo price for my particular sandwich. She said I would have to pay the full price of the side if I wanted one. I pointed out to her that she should correct the menu signage, but she didn't believe that it was wrong. It was a very confusing experience, and she could have handled it much better from a customer service perspective. Now I am discouraged from returning and instead have found other bagel shops in the area that are just as satisfying. read more

Sorry to burst your bubble but this place isnt as good as it seems. Personally the breakfast sandwiches give me the "runs" and thats because they nuke the eggs and meat. In the same plastic dished time after time. Also the best part is when you order from them the older ladies in there (I think they own the place) give everyone a huge attitude about what your ordering. These bagels are the best ever. Always fresh. They run a special after 3PM. Staff has gotten much better at friendliness and efficiency. Expanded store with additional seating should help those long lines. We really don't mind the price since the quality is so good. read more

I'd like to give Pennington Bagel zero stars or half a star! The owner is very rude and not courteous. First, we came around 1:15 and half the shop's chairs were on top of their tables and we had to stand and eat. My mom had to sit by herself because there was little space. My sister had to stand and eat because we were not taking down chairs and moving them. I ordered for my kids and not me because last time I ate there I got sick for days from their chicken salad. Well today was a different complaint all together. I ordered a plain bagel and it was covered with sesame seeds. My daughter is allergic and I returned the bagel. The owner felt the need to come up to me unfriendly saying she couldn't legally give her food. I said awesome. And she called out to me asking me what did I say. She was rude and seemed like she wanted to argue with paying customers. So I kept ignoring her and her rudeness. If you or your family members have food allergies don't bother going here. They don't help make food safe. And the owner is rude and has an attitude. They practically kick you out at closing too. read more

The most disappointing part is watching your eggs microwaved in front of you. This is after waiting a long time to pay. The workers seem to be nice enough but the owner always seems to be unhappy. Sometimes they won't even sell you a bagel because she wants to save them only for people who buy sandwiches. I went to the bagel shop, for a bagel and got denied?? I guess my patronage and time spent in line is worth less than the extra $4.00 a sandwich sells for. Go anywhere else, as they will sell you a bagel and actually grill your food. read more

Food is good but service is subpar. The first time I was there I had an empty water bottle that I asked them to recycle, and the girl took it from me, threw it in the trash, and then said "we don't recycle." Had she said this BEFORE putting it in the garbage, I could have taken it somewhere that I could recycle it. That turned me off completely but my boyfriend wanted to go back a couple of times. Today, we ordered two bagels with butter and one Taylor ham and egg. We got one bagel with butter and a taylor ham, egg, and cheese. I can't eat dairy, and this is a stop on a 3 hour drive for us, so it was frustrating to have to go back in twice. Personally I won't be going back. read more

Brought my daughter here for a sandwich on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the Number four and she ordered the pork roll breakfast sandwich. Both were tasty. They layout of the place is a little tricky to navigate if you are a first timer, but the service was quick and the place was clean. Prices were decent, and there is indoor dining as well as an outdoor patio for nice days. read more

Delicious food, absolutely horrible experience. Do you want your day ruined? Stop on by and get a face full of attitude from the 16 year olds behind the counter who dont seem to have any kind of grasp on what the concept of working is. Why are you so grumpy? Why are you throwing the bag of food at my face? They have so many amazing items on the list it is truly the best bagel place Ive come across in all my travels but the attitude and stress you get from walking in there makes you lose your appetite. The last time I was back in town for a visit I was craving their chicken salad wrap but I could not bring myself to deal with the nonsense so I never even went. This has been a problem for years and Im not sure why the owners have no interest in changing it. So days people have bad day.....everyone that says that it has terrible service I see have never had a bad day....They dont have a pricy meun it is the chepist around........ This place has the worst and most most unfriendly service I've ever experienced and it has been that way for years. I have no idea how they stay in business. I had placed an order over the phone and then went to pick it up today - there were four people working behind the counter. I was the only one at the counter and waited for 4 or 5 mintues and no one working there said hello, "I'll be with you in a minute," or even made eye contact. I finally just walked out. And it's not the first time something like this happened. I will never go there again. read more

so many things unseen that I experienced first hand being that my cousin worked there and came home with a story everyday however i'd like to talk about what I HAVE experienced not too long ago I was in line for a beverage and an employee was talking to her friends (who were customers) about an allergic reaction on her skin she said she just had woke up with it and it itched hearing that was a huge red flag FOR ME because prior to her speaking with them I noticed that she touched multiple bagels with her bare hands bagging them giving them to customers taking orders then immediately going to cut bagels it was a huge turnoff and besides from that my cousin has came to me not directly but usually just telling a story and some things that she consistently talks about is that they sell fairly old milk and save soups while most of their signs say "fresh" and "home made" it upsets me a little. the floors are disgusting the attitudes that the employees have are even more disgusting AND they microwave their eggs not only that but their MEATS to do yeah you're paying for microwaved boars head meat on a bagel with cheese over it. not knocking anyone's business just speaking facts... can we get a health inspector in there ? yuck !! read more
